In my city there is a "FREE FOOD" which I am involved in running. It started this year, 2021, and it collects food donated by companies, food from households that is nearing the end of its shelf life, and vegetables that cannot be sold in the market because of their bad shape. It is generally aimed at the economically deprived, but is open to all. In the morning there is a heap of food on the table, but in the evening it is empty. In the city where I live there is a free canteen which I help to run. There is very little land left for farming in the city, so I grow my vegetables indoors and supply them to the free canteen. The vegetables grow very well because they get a lot of sun, unlike the usual fields. I also use compost made from food waste, which helps to keep the vegetables healthy. In the middle is a terracotta pot which automatically supplies the water.
