“what are you gonna get?” jordan nudges your side with his elbow, trying to look over your shoulder at the menu like he didn’t have one sitting in front of him.

“would it be terrible if i got a burger because,” you use your index finger to point to the specific one that had piqued your interest, “that one sounds really, really good. i think that they got it over there and my mouth hasn’t stopped watering since they brought it out.”

“why would it be terrible for you to get a burger, y/n?” kim looks up from her phone with a raised eyebrow. she spares a glance at her youngest son, “jordan, text brendan and ask if they’re on their way.”

you shrug your shoulders and close the menu, “i mean, we’re in cabo. i feel like i should be getting something a little more authentic and not-”

“something really american?” jordan finishes your statement for you and you nod. he sighs, “well, i think- yo, where the fuck are you?”

“jordan,” kim sends a sharp kick to her son’s leg and you only know that based on the broken cry of pain that slips past his lips, “that is not what i told you to say and you know that.”

“i paraphrased,” he tries to argue, but the look that his mother sends him makes him shrink in his seat and turn his attention back to his brother, “if you’re not here soon, your girlfriend is gonna be my girlfriend and i’m not sorry about it.”

“is that so?” you hear brendan ask.

“it’s mutual, we’ve discussed it,” jordan lays his head on your shoulder and turns the phone so that you’re in the frame, “isn’t that right, babe?”

brendan hangs up the phone and you and jordan share a look. before either of you can say anything, brendan and pat round the corner. kim sighs, “i thought i was gonna have to send a search team out for the two of you.”

“the group in front of us were taking their time. bachelor party or something,” pat shrugs before taking a seat beside his wife. brendan pauses behind his parents and you watch as his eyes trail down your body. his dad turns around, “brendan?”

“sorry, some guy just got tackled and i got distracted,” brendan shakes his head and rounds the table, bending down to press his lips to yours before taking the empty seat beside you. he pulls your chair closer and wraps his arm around the back of your chair, fingers gently caressing your shoulder as he opens his menu, “what did you order?”

“we were waiting for you,” you mumble, leaning into his body.

“alright you three,” kim says, drawing your attention towards her, “give me a big smile. this one’s for the christmas card.”

“how many cards are you sending out this year? you’ve said that for every picture you’ve taken for the last three days,” jordan grumbles, but goes willingly when you throw an arm around his shoulder and drag him into your side. “everyone say cheese!”

“cheese,” you and jordan say in sync, but brendan stays quiet.

when you pull away you turn and look at brendan to find him look, well, uncomfortable. you poke at his side, “bren, are you okay?”

“son,” pat calls and brendan shakes his head, looking between you and his dad, “y/n was talking to you.”

brendan sighs, “i’m sorry, babe. what were you saying?”

“i was asking if you were okay. you look like you’re hurting,” you raise your hand and press the back of it to his forehead. he’s warm, but you remember that he has been in the sun for most of the day. his cheeks are pink and that’s when you look towards pat, “were you staying hydrated?”

“he was,” pat supplies and you look back to your boyfriend.

“i’m fine, babe. just a headache,” he shakes his head and his eyes divert to the waiter when he approaches your table. your fingers dance along his arm as he places his order, deciding on some seafood dish that his dad had ordered the night before.

“do you want to go get some tylenol? i have some up in the room,” kim offers and you look towards your boyfriend.

he sends you a pout, “will you come with me?”

“yes, you big baby,” you roll your eyes and push your chair away from the table. you listen as kim explains where it is and take the room key from her fingers. you tangle yourself fingers with brendan’s when he holds out his hand, turning your head to spare a final glance at jordan, “you better save some of the wraps for me.”

“no promises.”

brendan leads you around the first floor of the hotel to where the elevators were. he presses the button and as the two of you slip inside, a group of college-aged guys join you. you can feel their eyes on you and you subconsciously feel the need to turn more into brendan’s side. the only thing shielding your body from their uncomfortable gaze was a bikini top and a loose pair of denim shorts you had pulled on just before going to dinner.

“bren,” you mumble and his fingers curl possessively around your hip.

thankfully, the doors slide open to your floor and the two of you slip out, brendan sending a sharp glare to the boys as he passes. you push open the door to the room and go straight to the bathroom where kim said the tylenol would be located.

you bend down and you feel brendan’s presence behind you. when you grab the bottle you stand upright and that’s when brendan pulls you back just slightly and you feel something pressing into your back. you scoff, “is your big head hurting or is it your little one?”

“well i couldn’t tell my parents that my girlfriend got me hard, could i?” he pushes your hair to the side and starts trailing kisses down your neck.

“i guess not,” you sigh as you place the bottle of tylenol down on the counter and turn around in his arms. “a quickie?”

“i don’t put it past jordan to give us five minutes before he convinces mom to come check on us, so,” he pops the button on your shorts, “that seems like the plan.”

“fucking jordan,” you gasp as he lifts you up onto the counter.

“fucking jordan,” he agrees just before pushing your bikini top to the side and taking your nipple into his mouth. his fingers hastily undo your zipper and you jump as they push your bikini bottoms to the side, dipping into where you were already wet for him, “you too?”

“you popped a boner at dinner with your parents,” you swallow a moan as his finger slips inside of you, “you really aren’t in a place to judge.”

“fuck,” given your location, it was a little bit harder than normal for you to properly move, but you somehow worked out a rhythm. you throw your head back as he nails into your g-spot, fingers working on your clit as his mouth encases your nipple to occupy himself. “do you remember the balcony-”

“you don’t want that?” you tease, pulling him forward by his chin and nipping at his lips, “everyone knowing i love you enough to let you do that?”

“baby,” he groans, melting into your embrace. you allow yourself to get lost in each other before he pulls away, “we really have to go back down.”

“fine,” you sigh, giving him one more kiss before attempting to clean up the mess you had made. by the time you finally step back out into the hall, you’re both giggling messes. he can’t keep his hands to himself as you wait for the elevator. when the doors finally slide open, your face drops and brendan’s hands come to a stop on your hips, “um-”

jordan has a disgusted look on his face, “i don’t even want to know, but you better have had the decency to leave my bed out of it.”

It’s not the pounding headache that wakes you up but rather the regret at bringing the headache on yourself in the first place. As if that wasn’t enough the nausea sets in as soon as you move even a fraction. You draw in labored deep breaths attempting to force the feeling back down. You don’t even notice the body beside you until it makes a noise identical to the groan you just released. Except in an octave or so lower.

Heat immediately rushes to your face as you scramble to look down at your body to gauge how the hell the night you can’t remember ended. Relief is immediate when you see you’re fully clothed in your party attire. Tentatively you draw your eyes to your side to see the face on the warm, firm body next to you.

Thomas. And he’s already looking at you. Though squinty eyed and shy, his gaze flicks over your face. The thought passes through you that if you’re still in your clothes from the night before your makeup must be on too which means you probably look like a train wreck. Quickly you bury your face in the pillow out of Thomas’ line of sight.

“Hey you’re okay.” His voice breaks, gravely from misuse and his rather impassioned signing you do remember before you blacked out. His reassurance makes your heart warm but his voice makes that place between your legs flutter. “You look fine. Still pretty.” He adds, knowing exactly why you tried to hide from him. Shyly you shimmy closer to him, hiding your face in his chest instead of the pillow.

You and Thomas aren’t together but there’s something between the two of you, an emotional investment. It’s instinctual really how comfortable you are in his presence and how much you gravitate toward each other. His arms snaking slowly around your body to hold you against him is confirmation of the mutual feelings that exist.

“What happened last night?” You croak against his chest, body warming all over when he kisses your temple. He hums.

“Lot of drinks. Some karaoke. You said you felt sick but wouldn’t let me leave. Hope you don’t mind I crawled in with you. Your desk chair’s a killer on the neck.” At this you giggle softly. Thomas holds you tighter.

“So umm– nothing… yknow. We didn’t…” You feel Thomas shake his head against you.

“Nope, nothing. But you did look really pretty, I thought a lot about kissing you.” He admits seemingly without shame. You wonder if he’s still a bit drunk. Raising your head from his chest slowly you see his mused hair and bags under his eyes and think he’s never looked more handsome. He brings his thumb up to swipe under your eye and you watch as it comes away black with mascara. His eyes don’t leave your lips. You hum softly, hand brushing his messy hair off his forehead.

“Gimme 30 minutes to shower, change, and get this damn makeup off. And then maybe, yknow… if you still wanted to kiss me I might let you.” His response comes as a peck to your cheek and a firm hand high on your thigh to hoist you up and over him until your feet his the floor.
