Anything is admissible but not everything is profitable. Am I putting in effort to ensure I’m growing? Discipline is difficult and it’s been pressing on my mind recently. I think making sure I put my focus on what I believe to be the most important and keeping it there a bit more than I do would do me good.

When I have an opportunity to show grace, do I? I should desire what is true and good, but also what is beneficial to myself and those affected by me. Do those always overlap? I’m not sure, but I’m working to improve, and I think we are only responsible for what we know. Ideally I continue to learn and keep my eyes open.

I’m not sure why that is, but it’s very unusual for me to feel homesick. I’m still not completely convinced of where home is, but today it doesn’t feel like here. It’s really good to have some days where you kinda run out of distractions to focus on. This world melts away and you can take a step back and look at the big picture a little bit.

Don’t get me wrong, I love new places, and I think taking time to take off my headphones and just listen to the wind in the trees is really a blessing. There’s really a beauty in the cricket chirps and the bird calls, the bumblebees curiously making their rounds, making sure that they don’t miss anything.

I like this blog, it’s kinda this semi-permeable form of a stream of consciousness that tends to drip magical electronic raindrops that don’t really begin or end anywhere but they tend to drift along and help me double-check whether or not my pulse still has the classic undertones of where I’ve been and where I’m going.

All I ask is that you don’t forget that there’s always more than meets the eye but if we ever really want to find out why the glow is subtly shimmering from beneath the surface then maybe you can take my hand and we can discover the torchlit clouds that divulge a few more secrets the longer we sit in silence that feels surprisingly comfortable and much more like a summer day than twenty thousand feet above sea level; not that that’d be a particularly bad thing but more like a blend of cotton and something just as soft as the carpet in those luxurious mansions that tend to hide entire rooms full of libraries instead of the cold wonder that lifts you up and up but still makes you feel like you’re millions of miles away from our home planet.

Home is still home.

In all honesty, the only issue (if you really want to call it that, because it almost feels like giving up slightly) is that when home is where you feel comfortable, the general consensus is that home should be somewhere other than the cable connecting me to my music.

I was working with this dude as a “capture consultant” of sorts on a song he’d been working on to just kinda help him realize the vision he had for it and maybe somewhat polish some of the rough edges. Many people learn how to apply new music techniques by watching other people use them and I can definitely attest to how important that is, especially if they can tell you why certain things interact the way they do.

Imagine you’re falling through the sky, but there’s no beginning or end to it. Rushing downward at terminal velocity with the sun shining down, and the waves like a mirror thousand of miles below you, but knowing you’re never going to hit bottom. There’s an autumn forest surrounding the coastline and you kinda wish you could never leave even though you know you’ll never have the chance. Sometimes the carpet on the stone cliffs seem more like a dream than the pavement beneath your feet and if you could only take a flight to somewhere new maybe all the problems I caused won’t follow you. 

Advertisements are one of those things that we would rather just leave in the electronic soup of the internet and never see ever again but just imagine Times Square without the massive panels and flashing lights. The buzz of electricity that seems to pulse through big cities has this almost magical life-force and even though they say we can never leave, I’m not really sure if that’s a threat or an invitation to somewhere romantic.
