Joel's response comes quickly, arriving in a pretty letter sheathed in a dark magenta envelope with a distinct turquoise seal — the symbol of a recognizable hat is clear in the wax. The letter itself is written in a delicate, swooping cursive that gets messier the longer that the letter goes on.

I am so glad you asked.

First thing to note is that the Reddit mania post was back during Hermitcraft 10, alright? Aaaages ago, basically. And, you know, I was just doing my thing, as I do, you know, my perfectly regular thing that I always do, right? And then I see this random fella over on Reddit talking some BS about mania and aggression and how I come across and blah blah blah, and it's like, okay, just say you're jealous of how awesome and hot and sexy I am, right? Like, really, it was honestly just spouting nonsense.

But, yeah, they were totally super wrong about that mania stuff back then, and, of course, I have been nothing but even more perfectly normal than usual this season, so obviously, it doesn't apply at all anymore. Besides, you'd tell me if I seemed manic to you, right, Cecil? Right?

Cecil taps one of his fingers against the paper itself, reading over the message a few times before swinging his legs off of the desk, pulling out his pen and beginning to write back, this time with more legible letters now that he isn't in the middle of trying to oil faulty gears.

I'm now beginning to regret asking. I really doubt that they were jealous of you being 'hot and sexy', I think they make a valid point. Considering our previous exchanges, I can already say with confidence that I can understand where the mania accusations have been coming from. You're... energetic, I suppose, and your (what I can only really describe as) tirades can occasionally be over-the-top.

I can say safely that even though we have never met in person, you are absolutely not normal. In fact, considering the state of your handwriting, I would be inclined to believe the opposite - cute wax seal, by the way. Maybe one of these days I'll finally get around to actually getting one of my own instead of just coping.

In all seriousness, you don't seem too manic... Well, yet. We'll see if my opinion changes sometime in the future through our exchanges as the new season progresses. Even if you're in the midst of being slightly strange and unusual, I'd like to remind you to drink water. The grind can wait.

I was going to be offended about all that for a second there and then remembered that it's actually pretty hard to pass judgements on character when you're only talking over pen and paper, so I'll let it slide (just this once). Don't worry, though, even over a letter I can assure you that I am one hundred percent normal, not at all manic, and for sure very hot and sexy and cool and tall. If you ever come visit, you'll see what I mean right away. And that's a promise!

Also, even though I am definitely not in the midst of being slightly strange and unusual, thanks for the reminder (even if the grind waits for no man). I am sending it right back at you now, though. Your turn to go take a break and get some water. If I had to stop, so do you!
