In 1923 Jack and Joe Jr got caught stealing fake mustaches from a store , They also had this little club where they would stick pins into new members as an "initiation"

And one time Jack teased a little girl and she went and told a policeman so he ran home and hid in the cellar until nightfall , later he confessed to his father “ well, here i have been home only a few hours and the cops are chasing me already!! “

Rose eventually decided these two needed more supervision especially after joe jr convinced jack to race their bikes around the block They rode in opposite directions crashed into each other and Jack ended up in the hospital with 28 stitches!!

And then there was the time when rose found them in the cellar surrounded by empty milk bottles they had stolen from the neighborhood so they could resell them

As for your question, I personally don’t think joe jr died a virgin. We also have to remember that he was the son of joe sr who reportedly encouraged his sons to have as much s#x as possible ( he viewed women as objects mostly) even their grandfather (HoneyFitz )seemed to believe that breaking your marriage vows wasn’t the end of the world , so I don’t think the men in that family were particularly strict when it came to catholic teachings on sexuality . That said I have no idea when or with whom joe jr may have lost his virginity.

Regarding catholic beliefs about remaining a virgin until marriage, I don’t think the kennedy men followed those teachings very strictly. They were catholics and practiced their faith but they were also imperfect people who committed sins, like everyone else. I’m not trying to excuse their affairs or other behavior I just mean that being catholic didn’t necessarily mean they followed every teaching of the church

As for joe jr personality, I honestly don’t think anyone can fully explain every side of him i mean even jack once said that he thought he knew joe better than anyone, only to realize after his death that there were still parts of his personality he had never really understood. (Link)

About him avoiding “good Catholic girls” I think it had less to do with not liking them and more to do with the fact that he didn’t want to get himself into a relationship that was expected to end in marriage before he had established himself. that was a fairly common mindset among Irish Americans at the time because of that, he often preferred spending time with showgirls or women who were older than him, since they tended to be more easygoing, more mature, and generally weren’t expecting to marry him

As for the differences between joe and jack I think jack was much more easygoing and because he spent so much of his life in and out of hospitals, I think he always had the feeling that he might not live very long as a result, he seemed determined to enjoy life as much as he could, and that included dating women but joe on the other hand, came across as more intense, more serious, and more driven by responsibility, especially as the eldest son. That being said, I don’t think joe was all that different from jack when it came to women the two brothers were known to compete with each other over girls, and joe even had a reputation for stealing girlfriends from jack or from some of his college friends , so while jack is usually remembered for his love life, I don’t think joe was particularly different in that respect , the biggest difference in my opinion was more in their personalities than in their interest in women . But at the end of the day, they were both joe sr’s sons . They were raised in the same household, under the same father, with many of the same values and expectations.

It’s both ironic and tragic that jack the brother who was always considered “number two” ended up surpassing joe who was so confident that he would live a long life and eventually become president.

Of course, this is just my personal interpretation. Other people might see them very differently, and that’s completely fair
