My handmade middle-earth map. Took a while, but seeing it finished makes me want to travel there

Walking on Rome’s city walls: Aurelian Wall, build in 271 AD. This is at the southern gate, porta San Sebastiano, earlier called Porta Appia. This is where the Appian way starts, the first highway of history. It feels like walking through centuries!

The monastery of St. Benedict, or the "Sacro Speco", is an ancient Benedictine monastery located in the territory of Subiaco, in the province of Rome in Lazio. It's located in the place where Benedict's cave used to be, where he stayed for 3 years to pray. The interior, is a complicated maze of rooms, churches, chapels, sometimes built into the rock. It is covered with precious fresco decorations of various periods, from the early Byzantine works (eighth century) to the precious painting of St. Francis (1223), first faithful depiction ever made of the saint, accomplished three years before his death and many more from XIV and XV century.

This is my life, showing people this place. To just call it "city" is an understatement, it’s much more than that. Everyday I discover something new, something beautiful.
