show me love and i'll come through

“Good answer, I’ve trained you well” Em replied with a soft laugh, only joking, since truth be told she barely had to train Joe at all. He seemed to be one of the genuine guys who weren’t always saying things just to get in hr pants. It was different from what she was used to but now that she had it she wasn’t quite sure if she could ever go back to dating or seeing the jerks she was so accustomed to.

Despite how much comfort Joe had developed through out the time he's had Em in his life, he still found it a little difficult to really tell when was and wasn't the right time to just go for it. Sure if he were to get rejected, that wasn't a big deal but to get striked out every single time? Well that didn't sound so fun. It was why he usually just went with the flow whenever Em would be the first to react. How would he even know that Em would have been in the mood this morning while she was sleeping? "Something tells me that if I asked right now, then I probably missed my window, right?"

Leaning over, Em snagged the beanie right from Joe’s head so he wouldn’t cover his hair, “Nope, you’re not getting away that easily. Besides, this” She said, raising the beanie in the air to emphasize her point, “Looks way better on me” She then proceeded to put the hat on, sliding it back slightly as she made a face at Joe. “Also you’re obligated to agree on the account of I’m your girlfriend and if you don’t I’ll break up with you” She joked since clearly she wasn’t gonna break up with him over something so stupid, still, she figured he’d follow suit without the threat. 

Just as quick as he placed the beanie over his head, it was also snatched right off in the blink of an eye. Really he should have saw it coming. She may have mentioned and used the excuse of it looking better on her, which he couldn't deny, but secretly Joe had the feeling it also had to do with how her hair looked at the moment. He'd let it slide it for now and instead would just smile along. "To be fair, I think you look good in pretty much anything, so," he said with a small shrug of his shoulders as he looked over at her.

Em curled up on the lawn chair, bringing her knees up close towards her chest as she rested her head against the back of the chair and let her sleepy eyes drift over to Joe. It was way too early for her but somehow she managed, though that probably had more to do with the coffee she had in her hand otherwise she’d be passed out still. “Yeah, you really do, unfortunately” She said running her free hand through her tussled hair just to prove her point. Setting her coffee mug on the ground, she shifted in her chair and let out a soft laugh at Joe’s comment, “I mean now that you just gave me the brilliant idea, I might” She added with the raise of her brow as she bit her lip, as if she was actually considering it.

His eyes couldn't leave hers as he watched Em shift in her chair. Maybe there had been a small part of him that felt a little guilty for her being up so early. Somehow he found a way to blame himself a little, but he didn't allow it to beat himself up about it. It wasn't like he was holding her at gun point, but still he knew how much she cherished being in bed for as long as she wanted. His eyes widened a little as he reached over for one of his beanies that he left outside and began to cover his hair with it. Maybe she was kidding, but Joe liked to be catious. He even tried to ignore the lip biting she had displayed. There was easily days where Joe saw Em to be amazing gorgeous, but of course there had been other times where he was just blown away with the small gestures that were rather hot. Obviously this was one of those times even if she had bed hair, and it was just too early for that.

Em found herself face down against the cool side of the pillow in Joe’s bedroom. She could already hear birds chirping, which annoyed her because she had been so used tot he sounds of car honks and the bustle of the city in New York that something as simple as a little nature was enough to make her stir in bed. Groaning out a little, she soon rolled onto her back and stretched out her arms above her head, her eyes still closed until she peeked out into the bright room. “Ugh morning” She muttered out before finally sitting up and running her hands through her messy and tangled hair. Glancing at the spot beside her and noticing it was empty, Em figured Joe was still getting up rather early which she was hoping to fix for the sake of her own sleeping schedule. In fact she thought she had wore him out last night but apparently he was as resilient as ever. 

For the time being, Joe was sure that there would be a few more hours up until Em would wake back up. Though he couldn't make promises the left over coffee would still be warm for her, but at least it would still be there? It was a silly thought that had Joe smiling at himself as he began to doodle some more, not realizing that what he was drawing was in fact, his girlfriend. Something he tended to find himself doing quite a bit whenever he was having trouble with writing songs and having his writer's block. He wouldn't really go as far to say that she was some kind of muse for him, but to say thinking of her and what they shared hadn't helped a bit in the past would be a lie. He just wasn't sure how she'd feel if she found that out. Probably call him cheesy again, but hey, he's been called worse by others. He let out a small yawn to himself before taking another drink from his coffee, trying to be as careful and not burn his tongue like he's done in the past way too many times before.
