Yes she’s the main character of the OG trilogy but she’s not the main character of this one.

Judging by Maxine’s quote I really hope that Avery saves herself and wraps it up in 10 chapters or something.

Grayson is probably my favourite because of how angsty his character is

He was raised up for 17 years to be the heir apparent and ended up not getting the money but he still helped Avery with her riddles

He came back and found his girlfriend dead on the shore and didn’t blame Jameson when he said he watched her die

And he’s still not a perfect character he still has flaws which makes him so much more realistic in my opinion

His relationships with other characters are so good as well *cough* Nash and Grayson *cough*

His entire arc with his mental health was so important to me and they didn’t completely loose it in the new series

In short he’s just the goat🤩🤩

Okay I am going to ruffle a lot of feathers......

I used to be a Avery/Grayson shipper, this was when the first trilogy came out. After reading the first trilogy I didn't like it and I thought it was because my ship didn't sail.

I then read TBH and realised that Avery is not what Grayson needs, that she didn't understand him at all, it would have ended in a disaster and Grayson did not need a relationship he needed to heal.

With this knowledge that Avery and Grayson were not meant for each other, I decided to re-read the first trilogy and thought to myself "Maybe Javery are a great couple and I was just being prejudice"

I re-read the first trilogy.....

I still didn't like it.

Why didn't I like it?

Because Avery has no chemistry with either boys. Her interactions with Grayson are very forced, I loved that Grayson said "You and me it's not going to happen" or something in the lines of that in the first book, but it was so sudden, there was no romantic development between them at that point. Her scenes with Jameson are natural in terms of solving puzzles and looking for clues but the romance between them felt forced. Like what was the point of kissing in Emily's bedroom? Or making out in the hottub with paparazzi taking photos if it was never going to be mentioned again. Even with Grayson's kiss scene in THL that didn't need to be there because it did nothing to the plot, Jameson didn't care and the media reaction didn't affect the storyline.

After reading TIG series twice, I have come to the conclusion that Javery's relationship is them solving puzzles / looking for clues and then making out / being romantic if they have nothing else to do.

What I'm trying to rant about is that the romance aspect of the story is completely unnecessary, I think the series should have focused on Avery as an individual not the top point of the love triangle. I think she should have been single, gone to college, travelled with Maxine and Libby etc. Because both Avery and Jameson have things to heal from before being in a relationship.

like you read the book and you can literally count on your fingers the amount of times ag interacted?? how am i supposed to ship anyone if theres nothing there to ship 💀
