I like to think this scene plays out right after their reunion. Perhaps after finding out that both their bands are nominated for the same award.

After finding out about the nomination, Lenore goes out for a walk to clear her head. This is her first nomination, proof that her band ‘The Ravenheads’ are the real deal. She should be celebrating, but she just can’t bring herself to care. This is supposed to be everything she could have ever wanted, but no matter how much Duke tells her to get out of her head and focus on what’s right in front of her (the band), she just can’t. Something isn’t right.

She runs into Annabel Lee by chance, ‘Ghost Bride’ is celebrating at a nearby bar, they have just wrapped up their fourth successful tour and have been nominated for the third time. They lock eyes through the bar window, Lenore wants to run away but something about Annabel Lee’s eyes tells her to stay put.

So she does, she waits in the dark alleyway next door. It’s awkward between them. Annabel Lee is trying to make a lighthearted situation out of their past, while Lenore just can’t seem to let it go. She reaches for a cigarette, trying to keep her hands occupied and while she digs for her lighter, Annabel brings out hers.

It’s a peace offering.

Lenore shouldn’t take it. I mean why would she? She has her own lighter. But she lights her cigarette with it, willing to pretend that all is well between them.

Why, you may ask? She can’t even figure that out herself.

This is the girl who abandoned her years ago and wrote an album about it just to cope with her own guilt. She should hate her, she does hate her, but why does she have to be so damn irresistible?

Fear not tho! Soon enough Lenore will learn to move on, or at least pretend to move on just so she can steal a few kisses here and there from the girl she can’t seem shake off.

I know I said last time that I was gonna talk about the roles that each nevermore characters play in this au but frankly I got bored with what I was drawing so imma start from scratch hehe.

Found this reference on Pinterest, I have no idea where it’s from but I thought it screamed Annabel Lee & Lenore!!

WhiteRaven Rockstar Au (Cont’d)

Yeah I’m bring this au back now that Nevermore season two is on its way!!

Annabel Lee & Lenore meet when they were children because their fathers are business associates. At first they didn’t get along because Lenore was wild and reckless while Annabel Lee liked playing the role of the perfect daughter.

They ended up bonding over their shared love for rock music and later began to fall in love with each other. After Theo’s death, Lenore was locked away in the attic by her father. Annabel, instead of helping Lenore, left when someone (guess who 👀) came to offer her a spot on an up-and-coming band as the lead singer, so she left without saying goodbye, leaving Lenore to wonder what she did wrong to be abandoned.

Annabel Lee was completely devastated with her own decision and wrote an album called ‘The Raven’ as an apology, hoping that Lenore will one day figure out why she left her. This album did numbers and got Annabel Lee’s band ‘Ghost Bride’ to skyrocket in popularity. A lot of fans related to her heartbreak and began to wondered who this mysterious “Raven hair beauty” is that was mentioned all throughout the album.

*checks notes* okay so in this scene, Annabel Lee’s band is performing their breakout album to a sold out stadium. In the crowd Annabel Lee sees Lenore for the first time in over a year. Overwhelmed by her presence, she just has to tell her the truth, that the album is about her. Not knowing that that will be the last time she sees her again until many years later where the roles are reversed: Lenore on stage with her own band.

Alright that’s it for now, next post is gonna be about all the other nevermore characters roles in this au (which I briefly mentioned but now wanna go full out hehe). Someone has already guessed that Ada is a groupie so kudos to you!!

Heyyyy long time no see ;-; school is tough, college is really out here draining me emotionally (and financially) but now it’s winter break!!

Have this comic I’ll probably never finish lol (simply because I can’t paint water) , it was supposed to be about Lenore, a princess forced to crossed dressed as a prince after her brother’s death, getting saved by Siren Annabel Lee after trying to drown herself.

And yes I was heavily inspired by the “Undine Rising from the Fountain” sculpture by Chauncey Bradle

Basically Annabel Lee and Lenore are both part of rival bands. Lenore’s band “The Ravenheads” (Duke, Pluto, Eulalie, Berenice) are up-and-coming stars while Annabel Lee’s band “Ghost Bride” (Prospero, Montresor, Will) are considered the face of rock music.

So their bands HATE eachother.

And oh yeah, Lenore and Annabel Lee may or may not have some unresolved history??
