Thinking abt making a side blog where I post clothes that would look good on random Jojo characters...the things I think abt while browsing ThredUp

I should expect nothing from Instagram comment sections and fandom in general at this point, but it does shock me how people keep saying Giorno has no Italian in him. One of his grandparents, Dario Brando...not Italian at all, you say? It's not impossible to think one or both of Dario's parents were Italian. Both of Dario's namesakes (Dario Argento and Marlon Brando, respectively) are Italian, yes? I like the idea that Dario ran from Italy for comitting some kind of horrible crime, and fate sort of brought Giorno back to Italy to do the exact opposite to complete a sort of ancestral karma. Giorno is brought to Italy give back by way of reform in the most powerful crime organization there. If that makes sense. Idk maybe this analysis is weird. Let me know in a civil manner if you think so.

JojoTumblr post that still lives rent free in my head is some theater kid activism where someone posted a still of Mista beating the shit out of that one civilian guy and saying "I like my ice crushed" "Mista would hate ICE" like yea I'm sure literally most Jojo characters would hate ICE. Because they're written as generally righteous people who care about justice. This is a series that discusses systemic injustice. Did we not see racially-motivated police brutality pushed back against as early as Battle Tendency when Joseph styles on those pigs at the beginning of his part? You're talking abt how a fictional character who hates systemic/sexual injustice would probably hate the instrument of the fascist US government, as if that's a revelation. There's something so strange to me abt posting this kinda cutesy "I like my ice crushed" shit when ICE is like. Real. Committing real violence against real civilians and dragging away real immigrants who have done nothing but seek a better life in this god-forsaken country. Putting them in concentration camps and the like. Doing this NOW, as I type this post. Can we not post stupid shit like this in fandom. I just don't get why people can't help themselves. Like are we thinking about what we type and how this is a real issue and not something to posture about. I mean. Do what you want. But I'm just asking.

Had a dream that completely revived my Ghiaccio-coded crashout from my first Jojo's phase years ago about Buccellati's name being officially/commonly spelled Bucciarati. In my dream I was essentially wondering why Bucc's first name was corrected from "Brono/Blono" as Araki wrote it in Japanese (and is pronounced in the JAPANESE ANIME DUB EVEN?), but his last name is still allowed to be Bucciarati officially when the namesake is spelled Buccellati. It should either entirely be Brono Bucciarati (Araki's chosen spelling) or Bruno Buccellati (full "correction"/probable intent), no? Why did the English spellings correct Brono and not keep it, if the anime recognizes Brono as correct. I get itttt I get that Brono would have been goofy maaan but that's how the author wrote it. And then English just left the back half untouched, fuck me. If you're gonna ego it at least ego the full thing. And after I made this realization in the dream Buccellati started passionately kissing me or smth. But anyway I'm losing my mind about this currently and I thought I would share. Bucciarati has always bothered me as a spelling after I got back into Jojo but now I can articulate why. I'm having a Death the Kid type of crashout over Buccellati's name not being "symmetrical" (not being consistent in source material vs English adaptation and wider recognition in fandom)(I have not watched all of Soul Eater and I think I did stop watching because of one of Death the Kid's symmetry crashouts, ironically enough). I always wanna respect Araki's intent and choices, but my question is, does Bruno Buccellati make more sense because that was probably what he was going for, or did he genuinely name him "Brono Bucciarati" despite him having gone to Italy for research. I have officially lost it. If you go and say "it's not that deep" then consider that I did in fact label this a Ghiaccio-coded crashout at the beginning. If you tell me this isn't that deep I'm going to GET YOU 😭😭😭
