i got swept away by the mightiest need to make a layered robot head that can be taken apart completely -> spent the last couple of days doing very little else than working on these two. they're mostly the same sculpt, but the pink one has some functional improvements compared to the black. all parts attach by magnets. the upper half of the mask can slide up and down, and the ears can rotate.

i have a matching body in progress, but these heads are enormous, so i'm not 100% sure if i will be printing it in this size. regardless, full modular robobuny coming up eventually.

I legit think it’s because I misremembered some of his comments about “Drive” and “Only God Forgives” director Nicolas Winding Refn. Gosling was Refn’s muse for a few years and he was incredibly chill about Refn having very complicated violent psychosexual feelings about him, waning to make out with Gosling and beat him up at the same time but also wanting to be beat up by Gosling and Gosling was just like “Yeah it be like that sometimes. I like him” and then smooching Refn on the red carpet as a little treat for his creepy director. Just wild behavior.

Now I’m wondering if it’s because no one has sent him a good script or if it’s because Hollywood thinks people don’t want to see him play a queer character?

I mean, I think we already have an idea for a high concept thriller about the dynamics between actors and directors right there thanks to Gosling himself. And if someone wrote that they should really take inspiration from how Refn depicted Gosling as this living, breathing man wrapped in a world of artificial glitter and beauty even as he was being beaten to a pulp. It’s very Hollywood.

Refn: "It was a famous blind date. We had a mental fuck in the car, a creative marriage. I was the mother and he was the father, bringing this child to life."

Gosling: "I always get nervous at this point because I'm pretty sure this is when he says he penetrated me cinematically, or I creatively lost my virginity to him, or that we made a movie baby in the backseat of my car."

Also I finally found out where Refn learned to call himself Hideo Kojima’s “pleasure puppet” (not direct quote) because this is how Gosling describes working with Refn “I'm a meat puppet. I'm here to serve. I'm of service and l feel free.” It’s all falling into place.

I need to make it real clear that I’m not implying anything ever happened between them because Gosling seems very straight, just that Refn is a self proclaimed sadomasochistic pervert who’s sexuality depends on his mood and it says a lot about Gosling that he is not only totally fine with this but encouraged it, played along and really wants to make a third movie with Refn. He’s so happy to work with this freak who calls his violent movies his personal porn (and he means that literally which is why they look like that) and wants to see Gosling kill people or get savaged and bloodied. It’s just so funny given Gosling’s current image as a fun goofball.

I was listening to a podcast where a scientist talked about near death experiences and life after death and some of the interesting studies that had been done and how he wanted to do his own but he hadn’t found an ethical way to kill either a willing test subject or himself. We love a mad scientist.

But listening to him made me want to suggest a different experiment. The most often reported contact people have with deceased loved ones are visitation dreams. Dreams that feel different to normal dreams because nothing much is going on besides being/talking with the loved one. I’ve had two myself and they do feel very very different in a way that doesn’t make sense if you’ve never had one.

People often get messages of varying importance (one woman was told by her elderly friend to watch the first season of Stranger Things for example) so I suggest an experiment where you, in the case of your death, come up with something you want to do to prove that there’s life after death in a loved one’s dream, like swing a pink fish over your head.

You write it down on a piece of paper and place it in a closed envelope and tell the person or people who have agreed to be part of the experiment about it (you might even make individual envelopes with different actions for different people for better results) but obviously not what action you wrote down. If they have a dream about you where you do something weird they can then open the envelope and see if it was what you planned. From what people report visitation dreams usually happen within the first few months and not after a year, at which point the envelope can be opened if the loved one is curious about what you planned to do. It could even be turned into a little anniversary get together where people open the envelopes together and remember you.

Completely unrelated, I was minding my own business on a merry-go-round, just spinning at an appropriate speed for my advanced age, when my brother who turns 40 in a few months mind you decided I was going too slow and jumped on it, sending me flying to the other end of the damn playground.

Recently, I was lucky enough to be asked to be a part of Henry Zhang and Ringo Tsuga's proposal video!!

I met them both while I was in school, and even worked with Ringo on our thesis film. For my part, I wanted to highlight that time and the nickname we always called her as our director: Chef!!!

So has anyone done an in depth analysis of Iron Lung as Mark’s meditation on his own journey with anger issues? Because you can pretty much make a one to one comparison between the way he tells the story and the story beats of the movie, with Jacksepticeye taking the place of Ethan Nestor.

I’m not qualified to do a proper analysis but according to Mark he had terrible anger issues but was in denial about it, always making excuses; He only responded like that because people pissed him off and he wasn’t a bad guy because he always felt sorry about it after his outbursts and he never intended to hurt anyone. He kept making excuses until he did a video with Ethan. Mark got so angry at Ethan that he wanted to punch him but luckily he managed to redirect his violence at a wall, punching a hole in it. Seeing the video afterwards Mark finally saw himself for what he truly was and knew he had to get therapy before he hurt someone.

I’ve never watched the movie before so I have no idea what they say in English but during the final when Robotnik is speaking to the world on the big screen he calls Stone a spytslikker which directly translates to spit-licker, which means something like bootlicker except you’re subservient to one specific person instead of the whole system.

Robotnik tells Stone “You weren’t a spit-licker, you were a spit-friend!”

It probably won’t surprise you that spit-friend is a silly term for someone you’re in a situationship with, like “He’s not really his boyfriend, they’re just spit-friends”

So the Danish version of the movie just straight up says they’re lovers but Robotnik isn’t ready to be serious.
