jigs has eels (and autism)

More random characters from books and plays while I try restart my bookstgram (@jigs.has.books if anyones curious its very bare bones right now)

I know people interpret different characters differently thats partly what I enjoy but these definitely aren't perfect since they are art practice

I get so worried posting these because im always thinking people are going to say 'thats not how *insert character here* should look but ill put names in the comments

Also any favourite book characters? Im so curious Or least favourite?

I don't think I'm completely satisfied with the malvolio design I made a month back but that's partly why I like drawing characters without descriptions I can give a more free take and make edits as I go. I also love seeing different people doing the same.

Absolute comedy

Recently received a 1929 copy of the 1594 history of the damnable life and deserved death of doctor John faustus with woodcut illustrations throughout

I like how the devil carries faustus and I feel like others would appreciate this too

I like drawing lil shoulder devils they have such a fun vibe

Warning do not get your new horse wet

Just more art practice because ive been bad and got too focused on those damn miis

I briefly mentioned updating my Dr faustus design the top image is a lil rushed as it was an experiment as my arts in an odd spot but expect more stuff soon

Redesigning was fun though I added a few refrences to various faustus retellings along with with a few less connected refrences

Thinking about how to update mephistopheles (probably won't be as major)

I set myself half an hour to do as many mini portraits as possible of my ocs im slowly collecting them and might make like a phone wallpaper from them i dunno

Ive drawn nothing but my oc horace i cant stop

My minds consumed by my two perrucier ocs wig making has such an interesting history

Read faust wanted to draw angels then became obsessed with those ear wing things and decorated halos

Im not sure if ill add the angel but otherwise I really loved drawing this i need to do more art like this one

I swapped the spider with a carabus faustus which is a ground beetle some versions of the painting use a scarab beetle i belive just not the most recognisable version

I dont know how to describe this but its based off fredrick Moritz August Retzschs 'devils checkmate' its such an interesting painting

I hate working on drawing scenes or just drawing more than one character so im pushing myself to redraw 'devils gambit' with mephistopheles and faustus (and less tiny details im not built for that i fear) its in very early stages rn but I hope i actually finish this
