cracks knuckles. okay i'm gonna take a stab at. some of this with minimal context beyond this post and what all i know about deltarune.
jevil <--> eram - obviously the link in games. instead of trying to escape the confines of fate and "break their strings" they're... generally complacent in fate itself; jevil says there's no escape to a game that you're already playing, and eram questions whether getting the shadow crystals will "really get you what you want".
additionally they're the most, ehh... well not aggressive, per se, but they don't really try to get into the party's/kris'/our good graces that much before initiating combat. with eram actively provoking kris.
spamton <--> gerson (<--> FRIEND) - they lean more to breaking fate! spamton talks about cutting strings a lot, and gerson talks about how following the prophecy too closely can lead you to losing sight of what's important.
(i'd also want to note briefly that regular spamton's pink/gold is just on his glasses and not, like, ingrained into his design. like he's trying to imitate being free while only being a puppet. and wanting to put himself in a body that'd make him free [that has pink and gold as part of it]. while still only being a puppet. i don't have any further insight i just think that's neat)
i don't really have many thoughts about FRIEND yet (still cooking on that) but i do think the spare colours thing is interesting. to spare a monster in undertale you (usually, with only a few exceptions) had to become their friend. spamton and gerson both actively get closer with the party (whether genuine or not is up in the air, at least on spamton's part). FRIEND imitating an ideal of safety and comfort, as it were. following the pointed tail.
mike(s) <--> FRIEND - i don't fucking know. why did the mikes only cause more questions than answers. why are they based on a game noelle liked. help.
(something about old games and safety and nostalgia i guess. FRIEND's false sense of security continues.)
ramb <--> eram <--> seam - seam has more faded colours than ramb. additionally they're more nihilistic than ramb is. seam has given up whereas ramb is desperately clinging to relevancy in a world that doesn't want him. it's like ramb is like. trying to do what spamton did with swatch. to seam. which sounds absolutely WILD but like. trying to imitate another character while mentioning freedom. yk. (i would assume seam knows more than swatch does however.)
also of note - eram and seam both directly reference collecting shadow crystals. eram seems to think it's pointless and seam seems to be slowly regaining hope as we do. they're opposites. why are they opposites. what does it mean.
ANOTHER MAJOR NOTE THAT I DIDN'T REALLY KNOW WHERE ELSE TO PUT BUT FEELS IMPORTANT - the yellow and pink is just blue and green inverted. which cements the two sides as opposites but honestly the same. either way you act with "freedom" still leads you back to the same point. "only one ending."
THE SPOOKYSWORD - eram is scary as shit. i'm running out of points.
SO WHERE DOES THIS ALL LEAD? - i dunno! FRIEND promising freedom but also seemingly being involved in the dessapearance. and thus possibly the knight. thus suggesting that there's no real freedom and it's just pulling the rug from under us. which ties into the inevitability of the prophecy.
which is... most certainly going to be broken.
(seam seems to think so, and the shadow crystals alone give them hope. perhaps it's a war of attrition.)
ME BEING SELF INDULGENT - FRIEND boss fight would go crazy. very self-indulgent idea of seam fighting the party for the sake of "prove to me you're strong enough to survive". playing with toys for the sake of safety and to prepare for real problems. awesome.
