That stress I wrote about 11 months ago? It didnāt get any better. In fact, it got worse. My workload increased three-fold and my personal stress increased as we reached the end of 2017 which left me in aĀ verydeep depression come January/February. Soā¦

I was sick for three days, still have terrible laryngitis, and have had a headache all day. But I made it happen and feel much better for it. Iām starting to see a lot of changes in my body! @golden_ladybird is still working on her selfie skills. Sheās finally got this walking thing down and we get at least a couple miles in almost every day! Even did just a tiny bit of jogging today. Since Iāve lost a little weight, my knees donāt bother me nearly as much and thatās been really encouraging. Maybe I can actually start to run for real again soon!

Donāt mind me. Iām just over here having a hella bad existential crisis for the last month. ...but at least Iām getting those workouts in and have a sweet, fluffy dog that leaves her toys everywhere and gets muddy paw prints all over my deck...? #thisis34
This is what 34 looks like. Today is my birthday. My amazing husband has gone out of his way this whole weekend to make sure that I havenāt had to worry about a thing and have spent my time doing the things I enjoy the most. I spent my day at a brewery festival yesterday and took a long hike with my dad today. So far my 30s have been challenging, but mostly enjoyable and Iām looking forward to another great year. ā¤ļø
Excuse the dirty mirror and the fact that Iāve been MIA for a month. We got a puppy. Sheās a lot of work. As puppies tend to be. Iāve been completely off normal schedule and routine between her and a bajillion snow days for my kids and traveling for work. I legit didnāt do a workout for 4 weeks until today. Iāve barely been taking walks. (Fun fact: puppies arenāt really into walking all that much. Mostly just rolling around in dirt in the backyard. The AKC says this is good for dogs younger than 6 months - and especially golden retrievers because hip dysphasia. So thereās that.) So maybe most of that sounds like itās got a negative tone, but hereās the thing: Iāve lost 9lbs since January. That might not sound huge, but Iāve spent the last four years gaining and then maintaining that gain. Iāve been unable to attempt intentional weight loss without feeling like I was going crazy. I wouldnāt even necessarily call this āintentionalā so much as just ānot consistently eating to the point where I feel grossā and also āeating a goddamn vegetable on a daily basis.ā This is a slow loss (which is the easiest to maintain) - but even at this slow rate, Iāll be down 36lbs by the end of this year which should improve my knee pain, my back pain, and my lipid panel. So, basically, Iām really freakinā proud of myself. Being able to get back to walking and lifting, this is only going to help improve my health and mental state.

An hour of #yoga this morning to catch up for #ywatrue followed by the start of MONTH 5 (!!!) of strength training. Iām so proud of myself. Canāt believe Iāve made it through 4 months of #lifting without letting my few missed workouts derail my ultimate end goal of remaining #strong and #active ā¤ļø
āWorldās Okayestā is right. It was downright frigid, snowy, and windy outside today. The combination of cabin fever and hibernation are driving me to the brink of insanity - plus my kids were home from school today, but I still had to work and it was the workday from HELL! Remedy? A glass of red wine followed by a very gentle 40 minutes of yoga. #day3 #ywatrue #30daysofyoga
