The cold didn’t do it for you, St. James?

Hardly. I think I’ve told you, but I’m a Los Angelos native. The cold has never done it for me. The only place I’d deem it tolerable is New York City, because at least that place can compensate for what it lacks in comfort.

...is a sentence I never, ever thought I’d say, but after camping out in a damn tundra, virtually any place warmer is going to glow in comparison. I could use a night out on the town at some point this week. If anyone wants the pleasure of escorting me, consider the opportunity up for grabs.

Oh right, It’s mandatory. I just forgot. I think my brain doesn’t hold onto things I don’t find super important. Does that make sense? Are you currently doing ballett? I heard the type of dance helps with football, but I don’t see how it would. You really wanna be on broadway, huh? It’s like your NFL. I am looking forward to seeing next to you.

That makes perfect sense. I’m a bit of a selective listener, myself - and there’s rarely anything that matters enough to me to retain, so my brain is wildly open for all the creativity an artist such as myself requires. Not giving a shit really is a beautiful thing sometimes. I am, yes. Well, I was until I came to this school. I think there might be a club or something where I can keep refining the craft but I haven’t gotten around to looking into it. Ballet probably helps football players with things like balance, endurance and coordination; all valuable things I’d expect such an intensely physical sport would require, right? I still need to give you dance-lessons, so perhaps we could incorporate some ballet into those lessons; it’ll help you in sports and in general, I’d think.

This will teach me to check the agenda before such trips as I am not sure I even knew there was a ballet on tonight. I shall be there, with my girl in tow. Maybe we could sit next too you in case we lose track of what is going on?

Well, one doesn’t normally talk during a performance, so I don’t know if sitting next to me would do you any good, but you’re welcome to, anyway. 

There’s a ballet tonight? That’s cool. I think it’s awesome that you like it. Which sort of dancing is your favorite to perform? Have a nice time at the show. I would go, but I am pretty sure I’d fall asleep. 

I could be wrong, but I think the ballet is mandatory, Sir. I would think so, anyway - considering that the institute probably already purchased all of our tickets. Just sit next to me. I’ll keep you awake. I have a preference for ballet, actually. I’ve been on pointe since an impressively young age, and I’ve continued honing my craft well into adulthood. Ballet is an excellent skill to have when one wishes to grace a Broadway stage one day.

I was discharged from the army due to injuries sustained, so one piece is debatable and I have PTSD, so…a number was done.

What’s that phrase? Nothing in life is worth it if you don’t earn it? I’m sure it’ll apply in your case. If only that you’re so confident that I’ll adore whatever fun little prize I find under it all. 

Mostly to get the seal of approval of this place, you’d be shocked how many people value this school when it comes to putting out worthy dominants and submissives.  It’s like Yale only more horny in some circles. And those circles I’m trying to run in. Thus…here I am.  This place has a reputation and reputation is important. Oh, don’t worry, St James. I’ll pull out my A game and leave you aching for another round. No worries on that.

That was my understanding, as well. Why they’d bring the most prestigious school to a cow town like this one in the middle of nowhere is absolutely beyond me, but my fathers wouldn’t let me settle for anything less than the best...and the ‘best’ still went and made me a God damn submissive, so what does that tell you? Why do I feel like this is going to be more effort than simply playing twenty questions- granted, I’m now determined to learn all those ticks and desires- which might have been your plan all along which is well played on your part.  Well- you can have your own feelings on the system and I can admire that- if only because I certainly do benefit from it.  I can’t imagine many dominants enjoyed the time you were more angry at the world in general.

I’ve more-or-less moved on from being angry at the people the benefit from this fucked up system to being angry at the system, itself. It seems healthier and less detrimental to potential relationships.

I just understand that it’s not the greatest situation when it goes against whatever your expectations were but you’re welcome, I suppose.  Well now, a combination of the two just makes you double the intimidating, doesn’t it? Well now I’m just curious what sort of reward you think would be worthy of such effort. Pretty much- I enjoy a decent power rush a little too much to be submitting 24/7 all the time but it does happen from time to time. I certainly got lucky with my magic mark- opens up a whole world of possibilities for me. 

Perhaps you should give me one sometime, just to prove how talented you are at such a thing. 

It certainly does. I think it would be entirely too easy for you if I just let out all the sort of things I would consider a reward for being...well, me. You’ll have to test the waters yourself and find out, I’m afraid.  Well, luck you with your ability to choose your fate and all that. Really, I’m thrilled for you.

That’s quite fair, though I do hope you remember that every other performer out there also must find a claim prior to their thirtieth birthdays as well. You’re hardly alone in that. I suggest you focus on earning points as the opportunities present themselves, so that when you do find that Dominant who sees you for who you are, you’re as close to graduation as possible.

I’ve tried to think about that, but then I just get bitter thinking of all the Dominant, aspiring-actors who will, no matter how long they take to graduate, always have the occupational advantage thanks to a little mark on their wrist. It’s aggravating to say the least, but I think I’ve beaten that topic well enough into the ground with you, already. ...That is good advice concerning my school work, though. I’ll admit my motivation to do anything at all has been lacking as of late.
