I keep seeing Nacho + Jesse stuff where people say like oh they’re the same age or a few months apart and no no they are not their age gap is THIRTEEN YEARS
Jesse was born in 1984 and Nacho was born in 1971, and Better Call Saul takes place in 2002 when Nacho would’ve been thirty-one years old and Jesse was EIGHTEEN so when Jesse is twenty-four in 2008 (Breaking bad) nacho would’ve been THIRTY-SEVEN
THEY ARENT THE SAME AGE
I think Nacho being presented as the same age as Jesse in fanon (Unless there's time travel shenanigans involved) is kind of a way to make his actions more palatable. I think people want Nacho to be Better Call Saul's Jesse, when he's just not. Jesse made naive choices, but most of the bad stuff that happened to him was someone else's (Usually Walter's) fault. Or it happened by chance. Nacho, girl, I love you and I feel for you, but so much of what happened to him was ENTIRELY his fault. Nacho very intentionally joined the cartel. Even if it was to protect his father, he'd been involved with the Salamancas for a LONG time before Gus started threatening his father. I adore Nacho and I adore that he's lowkey a bad and selfish person. But he very much is morally flexible in a way Jesse never was. Nacho is not naive or inherently kind like Jesse.
