Dean makes his Sammy soup and plies him with snacks and takes his temperature and gets him the stupid coffee he likes and puts him to bed and plays the soft rock station because it mellows Sam out and asks diner waitresses if they have kale salad because his brother likes to eat that girly stuff.

That is why their relationship is so fucked up and Sam will never understand just how bad it is because every time it gets real bad at home, Dean will do something dramatic or sweet for him to draw him back in again.
