Raison d'être

I’ve spent years watching my friend Jinkx get tormented on social media because “she stole the crown from Alaska” and “she didn’t deserve to win because we like Alaska more”.

Alaska shows up on All Stars and dominates; giving the most consistent, well-rounded performance of the season and now everyone hates her because she’s the popular choice to win and because she is given a less sympathetic edit than she had on her season.

I love Katya and Alyssa as much as anyone but it’s a fucking game and if you think anyone other than Alaska won this season we must have very different perspectives on drag. But even if you have that different perspective, please stop attacking people. Please don’t act like you know what you would have done if you were put in the same position.

And most importantly stop treating these queens like your playthings. They are not Barbie dolls, they’re real people trying to make art. Even if you don’t like their art, treat them with the same decency and understanding you would give to other people.
