Raining in L.A?!?
...All the leaves are brooown and the skyyy is greeey, I...DIDNāT go for a walk ācos itās been bloody RAINING for the past few weeks! I have to say it did not cross my mind that I would be pining for my Parka coat hung on my banister back home. ANYWAY, after nearly a month, classes are still going well, still getting smashed in the face with a ton of information but still enjoying them. Plus, I know what Tech House is now...I think. This weekend was my first trip to SAN FRANCISCOOO yeah! I elegantly travelled by a rather comfortable Megabus, lugging my belongings along in numerous bags. I was seated opposite a very knowledgeable chap from Oz who told me all about the surroundings as we passed them: āThe Grapevineā, 7x7 mile San Franciscoās people, itsā economy, the land take back of Alcatraz island by the Ohlone people, the um, popularity of the Golden Gate Bridge as a jumping spot. :S...So, once I arrived and found the birthday boy Emilio, I was whisked off to the first event of the weekend - Kings of Leon at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium. SO GOOD LIVE, Calebās vocals did not falter once, quite rightly named the Kings indeed. Saturdayās itinerary included: Tickets to see Tim & Eric at Sketchfest, a leisurely walk/deathly weight drag up Nob Hill in Downtown to a lovely park and Grace Cathedral - very peaceful with beautiful windows and interior. The nights events began with sliders, flatbreads, fries and blueberry ketchup?!? Accompanied by some ciders and we were ready to take on the karaoke at a Japanese restaurant nearby. Many famous hits were covered in various entertaining degrees of musicality! Afterwards we boogied with best at retro Cat Club where we revelled in the best jams of the 70s and 80s. Wigs, there were SO MANY WIGS. Sunday began with delicious Mexican food as all great Sundays should. I tried my first Tamale and was a fan. I caught my return Megabus and made it back to L.A in one piece thankfully. A total success of a weekend Iād say.
