honestly, no matter how many times you had imagined the apocalypse since you were young, what you had never considered was the idea of having to communicate with gestures to someone who didn't know your language at all.
“bedroom…” you repeated slowly, looking at him with slightly open eyes and vocalizing the word so he would understand. "the two of us,” sign for two. "sleep." you made a sleeping gesture, with both hands against your cheek, pretending to be a pillow.
you had been trying to explain to him that, since you had known him longer (and FEMA hadn't taken him away) among the humans you had taken in, you preferred him to sleep in the room with you, as there were more people in the house and you needed to make room.
but his deep blush and nonsensical words frustrated you.

"i need us to go. just until I can get the people at home organized," you tried to explain, and, stammering and smiling to himself, he accompanied you, taking your hand.

"you sleep on that side," you said, pointing to the side by the window. "i'll sleep here," you pointed to yourself and then touched your side of the bed.
he seemed to understand, sitting on the other side, and you sighed, turning on the TV. but when you glanced over, you noticed him slowly taking off his shirt.

It had been a long night. Your lovely partner had been through so much. The two of you were split up after he went to go visit a friend before this whole thing went to shit. You knew he couldn't speak english well and you did most of the talking for him.
You were worried as you sat in the closet of a man's home. You came that night as you had asked if they had seen your partner, showing a picture of him but to no shock he wasn't there.
You needed a place to stay for the night. You were worried as you wondered what had happened to your partner. Your other half. You tried to sleep but it didn't really work as every time you closed your eyes you couldn't fall asleep.
You didn't even feel sleepy. You sat on the floor messing with your rings as you listened to the home owner move around, talk to people at the front door and let them in. You zoned out until you heard the sound of muffling and the sound of the homeowner sounding confused.
You didn't think much of it until the closet door creaked open slightly. You looked up slightly as you saw the home owner standing there. 'I think i found your little boyfriend." he said as he nodded his head to the bathroom. You were confused as you stood up.
"Are you sure it's him?" You asked. "I would assume so. I showed him the picture you gave me and he got excited...I think. I can't understand him." The home owner said as you nod slightly. "He doesn't really understand english that well, I'm trying to teach him but with this whole situation I haven't had the time too." You admit while the home owner looks at you confused.
"Well yes but his mouth...It looked like it was sewn shut." He explained as you looked at him puzzled. "He should be in the bathroom trying to get rid of whatever they used to sew his mouth shut." He said while stepping back as you rushed to the bathroom.
Standing by the sink was your partner as he was focused on cutting the wires out of his mouth. Once he got it cut as he pulled the wire out of his mouth, whimpering as he rushed it. Once he got the wire out, he tossed it in the trash before touching his mouth.
"Oh baby..." You spoke softly, as he whipped his head to look at you. You rushed to his side as you grabbed some toilet paper from the holder and wet the paper with cold water as you squeezed out the extra water.

[I went to find my friend. After these weird guys in yellow hazmat suits found me and tried talking to me. I tried telling them about you…Even showed a damn photo but they didn't understand me…they sewed my mouth shut.]
You sighed as you helped him a little more before guiding him to the closet. The home owner looked at you puzzled as you stopped. "so how is he?" The home owner asked. "He should be okay. Is there anything you need from him?" You asked as you clenched his hand in yours. "I do need to check him..But I can do that in the morning." He said while you nodded as you lead your boyfriend into the small closet, hoping that with him here, it would bring you a little peace.
Over the course of the two of you staying there, You had to help the different guests in the home understand wireface. It was awkward at times when maybe you had to step out of the room and wireface was left to stare at the other person before leaving and going to find you.
You had eventually started to teach wireface the basic phrases he needed to know. You had brought a book with you when you first came over but lost it.
Thankfully, The home owner had a notepad laying around for you to able to use. You had used it to write down basic phrases that you taught him while also letting him use it as a way to communicate just in case he didn't feel confident to say the word.
He caught on pretty quick but there were a couple of hiccups he had but you didn't pressure him, if anything you were glad he was willing to learn.
