she’s taller than almost everyone she fights and has the reach to prove it

and she knows it

her entire strategy is to always be just out of reach for her opponent bc then they’re just in reach for her

she has immaculate footwork and she straight-up dances around people

she’s tall she’s fast and she’s also coincidentally a total brat about it

a very charming way

because she’s always very cheerful and a good sport about the fact that she just won yet another bout via tko

everybody wants to hate her but no one actually manages to

may or may not have broken a sparring partner’s (or three’s) ribs with a perfectly executed kick

she has Shins Of Iron, okay

her sister, on the other hand, fights like a tank despite very definitively not having the build for it

alex’s entire approach is that she can take more pain than anyone else

she’s less concerned with blocking and more concerned with dropping your ass

because once she does she’s going to win

girl can jiu jitsu her way out of six straightjackets if she has to

they’re not in the same weight class but every now and then they get paired up to for exhibition or charity events or whatever

because they never actually want to really fight each other

and I know that they're wrong. The anti-alien rhetoric is obviously an allegory for racism or homophobia. She's violated people's basic human rights. And I'm scared that I'm a bad person because sometimes, I kind of get it. Which is insane because i'm a lesbian enby of color, i mean i get targeted by most of the -ist/ism actions. I knew it was problematic (the whole James thing makes me sick to my stomach, scared and sad) but I didn't know that Lena as a character was written that way. The metaphors never really clicked in my head because I never thought about it, but now I feel absolutely horrible about myself because I like and identify with Lena. I'm not really sure how to move on from here- I'm just tired. I wish there could be just one thing, one piece of media that wasn't prejudiced (granted sg is not the place to go if you want decent rep and the like) and all of those things I said earlier. So far, so good, Lena thinks as she gathers up her belongings and heads out the door of her first class of the day. She likes it here in Midvale. It’s a lot slower, a lot quieter, a lot--

Force, mass, velocity, something bumps into her hard.

“Oh shoot! I am so sorry. Here…” 

The woman who apparently was the thing that bumped into her bends down and picks her things up off the floor. 

Lena is, of course, properly miffed and halfway to a firm scolding until the woman straightens up again and Lena forgets how talking works for a moment.

Her hair is flowing in golden locks and the bluest eyes she had ever seen are looking at her from behind dark-rimmed glasses.

“Wait, you’re the new girl, right? Lena from Metropolis?” 

“Yes,” Lena clears her throat. “Yes, that’s me.”

“Sorry about that,” the woman says nervously. “Let me make it up to you. Lunch in the hall at lunchtime?”

Lena should say no. She’s not here to make friends. But the blonde is cute and her shoulders are...nice. So…

“Okay.”

“Okay.” 

The blonde gives her a thumbs up and turns to leave, but quickly turns around and jogs back to where Lena is standing mutely. 

“It’s Kara, by the way.” She extends a hand towards Lena in introduction. “Kara Danvers. I teach English.”

And like, Lena randomly teleports to Supergirl’s battle locations to be the wing woman and clean up crew. 

“I thought we agreed you would stay in the tower! It’s too dangerous!”

Supergirl: For the love of Rao. I told you to just leave it!

Lena: it wasn’t working

Supergirl: it’s just a toaster!

Lena: THAT DOESN’T WORK

Kara: It was literally 3 seconds away from exploding in your face! What was I supposed to do?

Lena: Here! *slaps a gadget onto Kara’s hip*

Alex: Did you just slap her ass?

Lena: It’s a portable bomb disposal containment chamber. And you! *points at Alex’s shoulder* why is your suit ripped? I reinforced that material just last week!

Alex: uh….*mumble mumble* kelly… did…. it… last night….

Lena: *holds her hand out for the suit* Strip.

*Both Danvers sisters gape at her*

Lena: There’s no uh sound. It’s just smorz.

Kara: It’s a contraction! It’s contracting the words some + more. Suh-mores!

Lena: It’ll be a cold day in hell before I ever pronounce it that way.

Alex: Girls, girls…you’re both pretty. Now come get your smorz.

Once my friend told me “to prove the legitimacy of a WLW couple you need a legendary moment, but for a straight ship you only need a man and a woman standing next to each other”

This is so true and the RWBY fandom is no exception.

Now that Vol 8 is over in a climatic way and leaving a new horizon, something that surprised me is all these fights (on twitter about the ship)

I find it so stupid and hypocritical that many in the fandom are in “Look now they will canon the WhiteKhing” mode.

For obvious reasons I say the famous Why do you think this?

They literally show me that as proof

Basically even though Jaune and Weiss from Vol 5 to 8 have only had 4 min of screen where they did not change more than 2 words they give “Signals”

I literally have to forget that these 2 characters have no development to even hint at something like that but do you know why they consider it?

That girls and boys is called “heteronormativity” no matter how they try to disguise it (it’s reality)

For something I even see a lot of BB fans pairing Weiss with anyone except Ruby even if it doesn’t make sense (But I’ll save my opinion on that)

What does it have to do with the Whiterose?

With the Bumbleby as a secured ship, many Haters have already surrendered against them and switched targets to the Whiterose.

It obviously didn’t help these 2 volumes where there was little interaction and they’re doing their best to say “Ruby and Weiss are straight”

Even though Ruby and Weiss didn’t interact much in Vol 7-8 (because they had to give Penny space) since they were going to kill her … which I really didn’t expect.

But now I understand

Still, many love to ignore how Weiss has had more interaction with Ruby and their bond only keeps growing especially since Vol 1-6

From Vol 1-3 their bond of trust was established as partners and there was definitely a lot of that

After the end of Vol 5 and all of Vol 6, the closeness of both was explored more (not so much as partners) but as close people.

It was so obvious that even at the Opening they showed them all cute and playful with the other

With what other person does Weiss behave like this or does he look so happy?

Again this volume showed how Weiss feels safe and happy when she is with Ruby Rose. Jaune had no place in his narrative

Now I understand the purpose of Vol 7 and 8 (Here they further developed the independent Weiss side, with his family and of course being the support of the team)

As I said even though I was angry at first because I didn’t know why they had given so much focus to Penny … her death justifies that (In a bad way because it was not necessary)

Again even with the narrative separation between Ruby and Weiss in those 2 volumes, analyzing as a whole makes sense in their narratives and relationship

Even when it comes slowly, they are going to “reconnect” and this volume showed it, even though they both had other priorities … they never left that protective side. The opening is a good sign.

I think they were aware that there was a difference of Ruby and Weiss Vol 6 with those of Vol 7 and 8 this was intentional for the reasons that I mentioned

But at the same time they are in the perfect setting for reconnection and that is why Neath mention that we should be patient

The ending made it clear that this would happen and it would be epic

To conclude, I will mention that Vol 9 will be where Ruby and Weiss will be able to talk again because it will be the moment where they will be most needed.

It will be a Group development of the RWBY team but also of the pairs separately … I find it ridiculous that they want Weiss to have “romantic development” with Jaune when there is no basis for this

In fact, it is more likely that Jaune talks more with Ruby because they are both more friends … or who knows with Neo (because of the hatred they both have for Cinder it would be something interesting)

Anyway, I also made the mistake of fighting sometimes for stupid reasons, I’m just going to wait and now that I know what I plan CRWBY I will have to trust
