We have all been there when it comes to shopping over our luggage limits........! yeah, it's all fun until it's time to go home 😭 last time I was in Japan I was brave enough to send not only one, but three packages to friends in Sweden. Let's break down the process for all the beginners out there.

How to register shipping after setting up account 😄

First after signing in you can procced to the "send package" part where you'll start with your "sender information" and since it's connected to your account you'll have this automatically filled out. I used my hotel address as my infomation.

2. Next step is to do the same with your receipient.

3.Here is where you start adding all the info for each item you are shipping under "CONTENTS".

Info if it's a gift.

Please make sure that if you are sending to the EU always have the HS code registered, see pics at the end of post for more info.

3. You later pick the shipping method which usually (for me) is EMS.

4. Under this you really don't do much since the post office needs to adjust this based on ther total weight of the parcel. Just click your way to the next step by assuring you aren't sending anything anything "commercial"

5. Final steps! Confirming all the info and data you have registered. Please double check the names, addresses, phone number and item quanitity, type & amount.

After you are done you'll receive and email with a number that you hand to the post office worker that will help you label the parcel!

Price?

Well I sent a package for 8,5 kg for 21400yen with EMS. Arrived a week after so I would go after that, 2517 yen ish per kg?

I hope this helps and gives you confidence enough to send things! Just remember that I only sent merch, mangas, gadgets and not edible items or fluids (like skincare).

HS CODES information for EU countries

After going back and forward since 2023 to Japan I always stock up on gadgets. It's one of my prioritize since I collect so much. Here are the things I have bought and how I display them :)

Book displays, these come in different shapes and sizes but here is how I use them to show of my covers.

To elevate my displays I use there "hanging" display stands for manga, they are two different types as you can see from the picture. One allows you to add a booklet or small pictures while the other is just for the manga.

For pictures I buy a lot of different styles of frames to mix it up a bit.

For small polaroids and Netprint I always get these album standees that you can flip through. They are great and come in there two different styles!

These come in a pack of three! They are great to display Shikishi, acrylic cards and even collection cards when put into a thicker sleeve.

This is for sure the best item if you have can badges and feel like displaying singular. The stand comes with a little sticker you attach on the back. They have made a new version which is magnetic but I have only found it like once in store.

One of my newest finds are these amazing DAISO keyring stands! I'm obessesed since they have a little gap for the item to slide in at the bottom make them stand up straight! But they are also great for just displaying other keyring.

Of course to make everything look better and use the space of the shelves, risers are a must. There are different sizes and types but these are my go to! Usually buy these 3-tier or 2-tier.

This is another one I tried but it really isn't for me. It's useful when I don't have anything else but I don't really like it. It's too short and it's round so you need to have it straight against the back of the shelf.

One of the last things I use on my door and fridge are these magnet sleeves, they are great to display pictures.

One of the most frequent questions I get is, "where do you get your gadgets to elevate your collection?" Honestly, I stock up on things from 100yen shops in Japan (or from when I have been in Korea)

First of all, what is a 100 yen shop? Well, it's a store where everything is supposed to cost a 100yen (exluding tax which is 10yen so 110yen tot) However sometimes things are more priced, but there will always be a price tag if that's the case. If you find things without a price tag, it's 110 yen.

There are several options to visit but I like to categorize them based on what I'm looking for. My go to's are:

Can Do

Watts

I usually say that in Daiso you can find anything; gadgets, seasonal merch collabs with animes, disney and sanrio items, kitchen, beauty, you name it. While for me Seria is prime for kitchen items and blinds for anime items. But they also have great oshikatsu things. Can do is where I go mainly for oshikatsu, nuis and storage boxes. Watts is also a great option but not as big nor as accessible as the rest.

As mentioned before, they sometimes have merch for different characters and anime. Here are a few pictures I got during my time in Japan 2024. But there is so much more!

If you buy a lot, things might add up but it's so worth getting. Outside of Japan (at least in the west) it's so expensive to bulk up or even get a handful of things.

Other shops that can offer things in similar price ranges as 330yen shops like THREEPPY, 3Coins and Thank you Mart. Standard Products is also a similar shop from the Daiso partner family but it's not focused on any of the above items and more home goods.
