It's official.  Facebook has finally implemented hashtags.

You've probably read endless advice on how to get more twitter followers, and how to keep your twitter followers engaged.

Most of it is just speculation.

Some of it is based on individual cases -- but that doesn't necessarily mean that it would apply in your circumstances.

Now there's a new scientific study out that shows how to actually go about getting more followers.

Interesting stuff.

Google recent added three new tools to the Adsense Ad Review Center.

The most interesting allows publishers to block visually similar ads by uploading a screenshot or logo or by searching for text in images.  

Another handy improvement is the ability to preview the landing page for an ad.

To that, I say: FINALLY.

This has always been such an annoyance -- since, of course, you can't click on an ad on your own site.

The Amazon Associates' affiliate program has some of the worst reporting around, in my opinion.  It is incredibly counter-intuitive and lacks lots of information that would help affiliates make more sales.  And isn't that what Amazon wants?

Well, it turns out that they do provide a bit more data than is initially obvious.  And some of it can be very helpful.

It looks like Facebook may be releasing it’s own version of the Android operating system, with Facebook functionality deep embedded in every aspect.

This makes a lot of sense, and I know that a lot of people will jump on it.  As a marketer I definitely like it as it will surely bring new advertising opportunities, and Facebook advertising rocks (at least for now.)

But personally, I don’t really want Facebook any more deeply embedded in my life.  No thanks.

It's definitely the biggest.  It's the ONLY forum that most marketers are familiar with.  But it may not be the best.  There are many others.

So you've finally got your Toaster Oven Review site on the first page of Google.

But something's wrong.  You're still getting virtually no traffic.  WTF!

Well, guess again.  It turns out that part of the problem is that with highly commercial search terms, 64.6% of people click on the ADS!

I just found a free site that makes it easy.  Plus, you can create "Buy Now" buttons, "Belcher Buttons" (tested to be the highest converting buy button format), and nice guarantee certificates.

It's web-based, easy to use, and completely free.

Honestly, I've been pretty disappointed with a lot of WSO's lately.

But there are a few gems that I can give my full endorsement to:

75 Minute Blueprint - Mark's approach is very much like mine:  Don't try to trick Google.  Focus on something you like, put a little time into it, and success will come.  

CB Dog Training Essentials - If you are involved in the dog niche like me, this is truly a "no-brainer." (Yeah, I don't like that phrase, but it's fitting  here.  If you are in this niche, it would be crazy not to pick this up.)  

High PR Bacon - OK, weird name.  This one is about setting up your own  network of high PR sites to provide backlinks to your "money sites."  It's one of the few SEO techniques that is safe and still works.  And it's a lot easier and cheaper than you might think.

Azon Flybox - One of my favorite new Amazon plugins.  This will definitely increase your conversions.

WP Quick Pics - This is the ultimate solution for adding pictures to your Wordpress site.  It's hooked up to a huge selection of public domain images.  Just type in what you are looking for, choose which pic you want to use, and the plugin will even resize it to meet your needs.  This is good stuff.

WP Passive Profits - What if, when a visitor clicked on a link, you could send them 2 places at once.  Maybe to Amazon and also to a page with Adsense ads.  Or a CPA offer.  Now you can.

AMZ Early Bird - Promote Amazon products before they are released, staking your claim while there is literally zero competition.

And last by not least...

You've probably seen videos from PowToon.  They are all over the web, and for good reason -- they are awesome.

Last week, Powtoon announced that the introduction of a new free plan.  This is huge, as this plan will definitely suit the needs of most marketers.

Google Glass - the astounding wearable technology from the tech giant -- will reportedly be available by the end of the year.

"According to Google, the glasses allow users to not just record pictures or videos, but they can interact with other users using real time video, access GPS services, airport and weather information, dictate text messages, translate foreign languages, and pull up answers to common questions.

The technology raises huge privacy concerns -- imagine that everyone you interact with is filming you.  There are safety concerns as well, such as whether it's OK to wear the glasses while driving.

In 2003, a high school basketball player named LeBron James signed an NBA contract for $12.9 million.

Now a teen nerd has more than doubled LeBron's haul!

Seventeen year old Australian Nick D'Aloisio created a technology called Summly which aims to change the way we read emails, news articles or any other text on our computers and smartphones by using algorithms to summarise text in under 400 words.

Yahoo reportedly paid the teen $30 million dollars for his firm.

I don't wear a watch, and I'm not a gadget freak, but I have to say that the Pebble watch is one of the coolest things I've seen in a long time.

The Pebble project was funded through Kickstarter, and the watches will be shipping soon.

The watch face has an "e-ink" display -- like a Kindle.  So it doesn't need a power sucking back light.

The watch actually runs a slimmed down, specialized version of the Unix operating system.  There are all kinds of apps for the watch, and it can communicate with an iPhone/iPad/iPod or Android devices.  Pertty amazing.
