I was super stressed the last week or so because my main hard drive that I edit my weekly video off of kept disconnecting itself mid-editing and eventually the entire FCP library was corrupted and I tried to restore from a backup but there wasn't enough space on the hard drive to actually copy the entire library I think?? So then it would work but not if I tried to remove the corrupted library from the hard drive which then made it difficult to import any new footage because there was no space so I was frantically deleting random stuff and just kind of hoping it wouldn't completely explode in the middle of editing an episode.
Anyway today I finally figured out how to move and relink the original media so I could delete the old library and I imported a bunch of new footage and everything is working fine. Thank GOD!!!! Nothing makes me feel like more of a poser than not understanding how file storage works but in my defense: it's really fucking confusing. And I did not get into filmmaking because I have a passion for file storage.
