Possible controversial onion but I will never understand why people on here have essay long debates about whether or not the word queer is harmful to call LGBT people or okay because some reclaim it. Just don’t refer to someone queer if they’re uncomfortable with it and move on, jesus christ. An LGBT person saying “this word has been used against me just like many other LGBT people and I don’t want it used to group my identity” isn’t a personal attack on anyone who is fine with the word. Why is there a fucking debate? Is “respect people’s boundaries and needs” an extremely hard concept to grasp?
