Israel has just bombed a hospital where hundreds of wounded and refugees were taking solace. Journalists in Gaza have reported there was hardly a single body whole in the aftermath (If you can stomach it, there's a video of a father holding what remains of his child). At least 500 people killed by IOF soldiers, who planned this action, got into an airplane and dropped that bomb willingly. The deadliest attack in five wars, according to the Ministry of Health.
Israel has denied ownership of the attack and said it was a misfired Hamas rocket. Originally, they celebrated it on their social media, saying they had destroyed a Hamas target, treating the deaths like an unfortunate collateral. After international backlash, they posted videos to their social media claiming it was a Hamas rocket. The video, though, shows a second explosion 40 minutes after the airstrike, and they edited it our of their tweet in a pathetic attempt at covering up.
Israel has said multiple times that they were going to bomb hospitals. They told doctors to evacuate and leave their patients to death because they were going to bomb, namely: Al Shifa, Shuhada Al Aqsa and the Quwaiti Hospital. Al Shifa housed at least 10.000 refugees and wounded, and worked as a hub for the press because it was one of the only hospitals that still had working generators. Medical crew worked with sirens blaring to signal the hospitals were not empty. This was a purposeful massacre. These people died hungry, thirsty and in pain because of the Israeli government's cruelty.
CNN already tried to pin the blame on Hamas, parroting back the pathetic propaganda being sold by the IOF. Even in death, Palestinians can't be respected and are used to further their own oppression. These people's deaths are not going to be in vain. Within our lifetimes, Palestine will be free.
Take action. The Labour Party in the UK had an emergency meeting today after several councilors threatened to resign if they didn't condemn Israeli war crimes. Calling to show your complaints works.

Protests in support have already erupted in Beirut, Madrid and Rabat in response to the shelling of the hospital. Join your local protest and raise your voices. For people in the US, Israel has just asked for additional $10bi in aid on top of the annual $3.8bi already given to them. Palestinians are asking that you refuse this loudly, with their every breath.

going to choose to trust you on this because you are the closest person to DC establishment i know: does calling representatives to ask them to avoid sending weapons to israel change anything? i am very frightened of making phone calls and i've heard from other leftists that it's a lost cause but jewish voices for peace is calling for us to call and i want to know if it's worth pushing past my fears. do you think any number of calls could make a difference??????
Yes, it does matter, especially if it's as part of a coordinated campaign. Keep it simple: all you have to do is to say what city you live in and what you're calling about. You don't need to try and convince anyone of anything during your call, you just need to say that you're a voter who feels a certain way about a topic. Doesn't need to take more than 30 seconds. Do this once for your House member and once for each of your Senators.
Eons ago I did an unpaid internship on Capitol Hill, and taking constituent calls is almost always the intern's job. We tallied all of the calls we got from in-district voters up by topic, i.e. "4 calls about fixing this bridge, 6 calls complaining about immigration, 9 calls about a air pollution bill, etc." At the end of the week, staffers added up those tallies and presented them to the congressperson to serve as a measure of what people in their district were focused on. While the exact content of each individual call is ultimately irrelevant, a large number of calls tells members of congress that their voters feel strongly about something- this is what makes coordinated campaigns effective. Because reelection is at stake, members of congress do pay attention to this.
Gonna repost the link to Jewish Voice for Peace, they have a script you can read from and a tool that will call your reps for you.

Israel has cut water, electricity and food to Palestinians in Gaza. They are buying 10.000 M16 rifles and plan to distribute to civilian settlers in the West Bank to hunt down Palestinians. They're bombing the only way out of Gaza through Egypt, after telling refugees to flee through it, and have threatened the Egyptian government in case they let aid trucks pass through. Entire families, generations, are being wiped out and left to wander the streets hoping they don't get bombed.
Palestinians are using their last minutes of battery to let the world know about their genocide and are being met with a wall of "What about Hamas? What about the beheaded babies? Killing children on either side is bad!" even though the propaganda claims have been debunked over and over again. How cruel is it to ask somebody to condemn themselves before their last words? Or before grieving the loss of their entire families? When there's no such disclaimer to Israelis even though their government has shown over and over genocidal intent? Like who are you even trying to appease? What will your wishy washy statement do against decades of zionist thought infiltrating evangelical and Jewish stablishmemts?
Take action. Israel will fall back if public opinion turns its tide. The UK fell back on its bloody decision to cut aid to Palestine under public scrutiny. The USAmerican empire spends $3.8 billion dollars annually solely on this proxy war while its people suffer under a progressively military regime as well. News outlets are canceling last minute on Palestinian speakers while letting Israelis tell lies unchecked. Palestinian refugees are being targeted in ICE establishments and mosques are already being hounded by the FBI. Europe, Canada and the US have banned pro-Palestine protests but people are still resisting. You have the chance to stop this from turning into repeat of the Iraq war.
I want to do something but there's hardly anything for me to do from Brasil besides spreading the word and not letting these testimonies fall on deaf ears. I'm asking you to do this same ant work from wherever you are.

But still, all the people who are watching us and can't get to Jerusalem and specifically the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, don't feel you're helpless, that you're not doing something important, it's the opposite, believe me, you guys are changing history! You're influencing change, you guys raised our voices and videos for the world to hear and see. Please don't understimate any post, any tweet or anything that we're sharing or doing on social media. This is social media and our movement through social media has changed the world. It brought masses of people from around the world together to be in solidarity with the Palestinian cause, the Jerusalem cause, the Gaza cause, and the cause of Sheikh Jarrah. So don't understimate, on the contrary, we are being repressed through various ways - water, stun grenades, rubber and live bullets. For example, more than once live bullets have been fired in the neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah by the settlers because the settlers have the occupation forces who exist to protect them and take orders from them for everything. We are not only being repressed through various ways on the ground but also on social media. So you guys are fighting just like us / end id]
Pro Palestine movements have been massively censored through all social media. Instagram has deleted posts and shadow banned stories from people in Sheikh Jarrah. IOF soldiers said they would arrest any non-journalists filming the scenes in Sheikh Jarrah and followed through, while also arresting and brutalizing palestinian journalists. Facebook is flagging pro Palestine posts as terrorism.
They're very scared of people seeing what's going on in Palestine because their lie depends on ignorance. Don't look away and show support. Take two minutes to tweet in support of Sheikh Jarrah or share an IG post about the situation in Palestine. Tomorrow (06/08) is the hearing on the ethnic cleasing of Sheikh Jarrah, be angry
