Whiteland, Indiana. Yeah for Sunday.
Coulda, but didn't
In the previous post, Things I've Given Up, I decided to omit a huge chunk of blabber. It was written after I saw a photo, and I have to say what I wrote was a masterpiece. But it was brutal. The following hour after posting it on this blog (no bitch, not Facebook, IG, Tok, etc., f'ing calm down), I just felt like, whyyyyyy.... like, who gives a fuck? Me, is who doesn't. And after the irritation from the photo wore off, I really didn't give two shits. So I deleted all the nasty stuff.
Progress.

Things I've given up
Because this is my blog and I'll do what the fuck I want, here are some great photos of the apartment that was all mine less than a year ago. Most of the items pictured below are broken, thrown away, sold, or stuffed in a storage unit 45 min away probably accumulating mold. I'm sure my plants are dead.

Study, study, study
Really into this course. Super interesting. Helps that my package included the hard copy textbook, as reading a whole book online is not the easiest for me personally.
Explore 80 classic and modern recipes inspired by Stephen King's Maine, featuring dishes from the books set in Castle Rock, Derry, and other
I'm a HUGE Stephen King fan, so when I found this...
When my son Cameron was a baby, so around 1997-98 (I was 26 yrs old), I got a WebTV. Did you have one? I couldn't afford a PC or Mac so the tv set console was the next best thing at around $200. I was completely fascinated with the internet, or what we then called the World Wide Web. At some point, I figured out how to view the website's source code and while holding Cameron in my lap sitting on my bed, I would copy it down longhand into a spiral notebook; early HTML coding. I can still write code to this day because of it. Google didn't exist yet. There were sites like Web Crawler and Excite. Email blew my mind. Before the WebTV I would push Cameron down the street in his stroller and go hang out in an Internet Cafe in Capitola, California, where you could rent desktop PCs by the hour and get a coffee and sandwich. I remember it vividly. The nineties were an amazing time. Anyway, I LOVED my WebTV.

Love this.
So, what do you do for a living?
For the last thirty years, I've struggled with what I should do for a career. I've also struggled with people close to me making me feel bad because I don't have a career. Now at fifty-two, retirement age is on the horizon (?) I've been told, but I feel that's more like in about twenty years, so there's still time to get good at something. Now, I have worked in restaurants for 35 years and should've made more of a career out of it, whatever that would look like. But I'm still just bartending because it makes the most money and I don't have to be in charge of anyone. I like working for tips, even if I max out around 50k a year.
I've started making my way through the NASM CPT fitness certification. The textbook is huge and it's a good distraction. It is a field that I have worked in before, so it's not completely from off in left field. It supports the lifestyle that I'd like. We will see where it leads me.
