zvphyrâ:
zephyr was frankly overwhelmed by the whole paris scene. heâd never really been outside of ashmont before, let alone the continent. he hadnât gotten any sleep on the flight, forcing him to try to focus on whatever movie they played on the flight. despite his exhaustion and nervousness, seeing jane with so much excitement almost completely alleviated him. âthatâs ominous, but three,â zephyr answered, taking the seat next to her with two cups of cucumber water in his hands. he set the drinks on the table before wrapping his arm around her, eyes scanning over her itinerary. âwhatever you want to do the most though. the night is young, thereâs plenty of time to cry in front of the eiffel tower and stuff out faces with some good ass bread.â a smile formed on his face as she laughed, head turning to look at her.
the only thing that couldâve made going to paris better was if she got to sit next to him on the plane. the entire flight she kept wanting to make sure he was okay because she doubted she was nearly as used to planes as she was. a smile fell onto her lips as he sat down next to her. âitâs not ominous. i made a list of the first five things i needed to do and i canât decide,â she said. there was so much she wanted to do, especially with him, that if she hadnât made a list she wouldâve ended up doing nothing at all. âi have lists upon lists of things i want to do, but theyâre all really touristy and lame. i donât think youâd have fun doing most of them. what do you want to do?â the truth was they could do nothing but keep sitting in the hotel lobby and jane wouldâve been perfectly fine with it. after all, she was in the city of love with the love of her life.Â
junebriggsâ:
things had happened very quickly, in juneâs opinion. it felt like sheâd only received her letter yesterday, and now she was sitting in the lobby of a french hotel whose name she couldnât recall. or even pronounce. her hands clutched the arms of the comfortable chair sheâd settled into as she sunk further down, trying to will herself to get up and go. she was shaking, nerves more prominent now than theyâd ever been whilst actually breaking laws in america. juniper wasnât even sure why she felt so uneasy, but it was getting frustrating. this had been something sheâd always secretly longed for, something she couldnât wait for. so what, exactly, was she waiting for? distracted eyes focused on the wall across from her, foot tapping restlessly as she tried to calm down. janeâs words came as saving grace, a welcomed diversion from her thoughts before she managed to have a panic attack within the first night in paris. she turned her head slowly, a contemplative look on her face. âthree. but iâd go right for the eiffel tower. itâs definitely lit up right now. cafes are more aesthetically pleasing in the daylight.â
one of the perks of being such a perfectionist was that jane was ridiculously prepared for the sudden trip to a foreign country. her overpacked bags had been sitting in a corner for days before the trip and she made sure she had lists ready for any type of situation she would find herself in. there was some part of her that had been disappointed they arrived so late. one of the first things she wanted to do was see the tuileries garden but there was no she was doing that so late at night. jane looked down at her numbered list of things to do on day one as june spoke. ânumber three is take a nap. i donât even remember writing that one,â she laughed softly. she rarely napped back home, there was no way she would nap in paris. âi really just might have to go to the eiffel tower. the sooner i get it done and over with, the more time i can freak out about other things,â she said. âwhat are you planning on doing tonight?â she asked the other girl across from her. âbecause if youâre not doing anything, you should come with me!â
andrfordâ:
the flight wasnât as bad as andy had anticipated. his nerves were almost calmed for those few hours, both by sitting next to his friend and also the kind offering of xanax. heâd told himself at the beginning of the week that he would be planning heavily for this trip, even going as far as to download the hell that was duolingo. still, he always fell back into the same routine, and found himself sleeping whenever he wasnât at work instead. so, a lot of andyâs packing took place at two in the morning, mere hours before leaving to the airport, and he hadnât really considered what he would do when he arrived. thatâs where jane came in. while andrew knew he was the worst at planning, he could already tell jane wouldâve been excited and gotten a headstart. so, his first move after dropping off his things to he and cadeâs shared hotel room was to seek out his favorite family member âtwo.â he answered immediately upon seating himself next to her âhm.. i think a cafe makes more sense right now.â he told his cousin with a shrug, recalling the large time difference from back home as well as the exhausting flight. everyone could probably use some caffeine right about now âthe eiffel towerâs, like, the big one, you gotta build up to that. itâll be a better cry if you make yourself wait for a bit.â
all of her bags had been packed two days after receiving her letter from the school, and she had spent the rest of the days leading up to the trip planning out everything she had to do. it helped that she had been dreaming of go to paris since she was twelve and already had an old notebook full of things she was determined to do during these next two weeks. once the plane touched down she was thinking of where she was determined to race off to. she was fully aware that she looked like the definition of a tourist with her much too think notebook filled with various checklists and phone numbers in cases of emergencies. âhuh, i donât think you couldâve picked a better number then,â she flashed him the notebook, marked with all the things the she planned on doing on the first day. the second activity down was finding an aesthetic cafe and ordering a croissant. âi know i should wait for the eiffel tower but iâm way too excited. itâs so pretty.â she was truly so excited to just be in such an iconic city. granted, she wouldâve been excited to be anywhere other than ashmont right now. âdo you want to go find a cute cafe with me? otherwise i think i really might take off to the eiffel tower, and i donât think anyone is ready for how much iâll cry after that.â
despite the fact that jane hadnât seen much of the city during the ride to the hotel from the airport, she was in awe of the new sights all around her. once they were all checked into their rooms, she raced to her room to drop off her bags, not even bothering to unpack them before returning to the hotel lobby. it mightâve been late but there was so much she had planned to do, she had to take advantage of this time while she had it. she sat on one of the chairs in the lobby, scrolling through the much too detailed itinerary she had made for herself. paris was full of things jane had only previously dreamed of doing and she was far too ecstatic to even narrow try to narrow down her options of what she could do now right now. âpick a number between one and five, quick,â she told the person sitting next to her. âi canât decide if i go find a cute cafe right now or if i go cry in front of the eiffel tower,â she said with a laugh, even though she knew it was far too likely that she would cry once she saw it in full view.Â

libbykensingtonâ:
libby felt a pang of sympathy for jane, who had underwent so much over such a a small amount of time, almost none of it being directly her own fault. it wasnât her fault she was related to daisey, nor was it her fault that zephyr did terrible things in his youth. she seemed to get a lot of unjustified flackâŚlibby offered the girl a small smile over the lip of her coffee cup. âi mean, i would love that but leaving in the midst of an investigation tends to draw more trouble than itâs worth,â libby replied with a sigh, hands nervously twirling at the end of her braid. the thought had crossed her mind, packing up and leaving ashmont behind, but sheâd have missed her friends far too much. unfortunately, there was no place quite like home. âwhy do you say that? you never know, maybe youâll manage it one day. itâs not as though as weâre tethered to this place. the world is yours for the taking, and you can disappear to anywhere when all of this has blown over,â she encouraged, glancing over at the other girl. âpersonally, iâd go to spain. live on the coast. only bringing the pieces of home that matter the most with me.âÂ
the entirety of the last few months at st etienneâs had just been one giant mess. none of it was s something any of the students should have to be going through. they were truly all just kids being exposed to their friendâs deepest secrets and watching people drop dead like flies. âyeah, fleeing the country would probably make the police department pretty suspicious,â she let out a soft laugh. it felt good to be able to joke about the current situation. there hadnât been much too joke about and even just something small made the atmosphere feel lighter. âi think as much as i want to leave, iâm too attached to everything here,â she spoke. âi donât think i can go anywhere else and see a random street sign and remember the time i had a picnic underneath it.â the way libby spoke brought a smile to janeâs face. âthat sounds so motivational. it seems like a quote my mom would have in a frame in our entryway,â she said with a soft smile. âspain seems like it would be the perfect place to go to. i think iâd go to somewhere in italy though. every time i see peopleâs vacation pictures from there, i get so jealous.â

jwshrachlâ:
rachel was somewhat of a coffee fiend. it was just about the only thing she drank, the stronger and darker, the better in her eyes. so she nearly lived in the cafe. today she had managed to drag her roommate out to sit with her as she read one of her text books. she had her legs taking up the rest of the couch, as her upper body leaned on her roommate. she was totally lost in her reading, actually finding it enjoyable for once, a nice distraction from what felt like a jigsaw trap of a life it felt she and the rest of the students were living. however, she always paid full attention to her roommate, she was far too kind and sweet to not deserve rachelâs full focus. âwhat was that mama?â they asked, quirking her brow at the initial apartment. they quickly caught on, taking in all her needs for a living space. âthat last part sounds like a creepy pasta, and not one of the good ones.â they laughed, setting down their book, taking the laptop from the girl. âyou wouldnât be alone though, i would be your roommate.â she teased, sticking their tongue out, now scrolling through them. âwe need to get you to someplace like france, for disney paris, but also, cinema.â she wiggled her brows at the other girl, a silly grin brighting her face.
jane absolutely adored both of her roommates and always considered herself lucky to have roommates she liked. sheâd heard enough horror stories when she was applying to colleges. there wasnât a single thing she wouldnât do for either of her roommates, but especially rachel. anything they wanted, jane would do. even if she felt like a mother at times while she was around them, she loved them too much to ever imagine anything else. âi said look at this one,â jane repeated as she switched between the various pictures of the apartment she knew she would never move into. a laugh fell from her lips. âdo good creepypastas even exist? i thought those were only scary in middle school,â she said, fully aware of the fact that she wouldnât even think about reading anything remotely scary past five pm. jane watched as rachel scrolled through the apartments she had been browsing, making sure to point out the ones that she would consider actual contenders if she were brave enough to leave the only home she had ever known. âthat one is really cool. itâs in new york but itâs really big and apparently thereâs a really good bagel shop just down the block.â jane let out a soft sigh at the mention of france. âdonât mess with me. i used to dream of going to paris over spring break and meeting the love of my life there.â
opal, moonstone, jasper
opal: how creative my muse isÂ
sheâs actually a lot more creative than most people would probably expect. sheâs not creative in the artistic sense but she got really into those five minute life hack videos in high school and started making a lot of random things. she also got really into making cheer bows and had an etsy store for custom cheer bows for about six months but she was fifteen and rich so it died.Â
moonstone: my muse's opinions on outer spaceÂ
honestly she doesnât really have a lot of thoughts about space. she thinks its pretty and likes to watch the stars at night when she canât sleep but thatâs about it.Â
jasper: what my muse would be like as a parent
becoming a mom is janeâs ultimate end goal. her relationship with her parents wasnât the greatest growing up so thereâs nothing more in the world that she wants to be a good mom one day. sheâs not a fighter in the slightest but if anyone were to ever say anything about her kids there would be hell to pay. her kids will be her absolute pride and joy.Â
