SATELLITE KID

a project that has lived with me and in me for so long is finally out in the world. please take it in when you can. i’ve moved mountains with so many of my close friends and collaborators to make a body of work that i’m truly proud.

SATELLITE KID is a concept record that follows ‘the heroes journey’ and takes place in the summer of 2019. i was in a pretty bad way mentally and had one of the most difficult breakups. the word ‘satellite’ refers to the idea of otherness. just as satellites orbit earth and see the light they are not close enough to feel its warmth. growing up in a satellite town to london, beginning to understand my identity and sexuality i’ve always felt the same energy; close enough but never fully feeling apart of the conversation. i was able to experience the same feelings as everyone else, love, heartbreak etc. but was one step removed and never able to address things head on. SATELLITE KID is how i reconciled myself to these feelings and it’s a shared identity that can resonate with so many people who are simply just trying to understand their place in the world.

thank you to everyone who contributed to the music, i’ve been challenged and inspired by all of you to make the most honest and true art possible.
