Jayden Way

Holden laughed a little. “What do you think Cupcake? I got home at 3 this morning and I’m drinking a large coffee.”

“Sounds like you know how to have a good time... or a really bad one depending.” 

 Bambi couldn’t help but laugh as she took the seat across from Jay.

 “Poor thing, need some hair of the dog to get you over that hangover? I think I have a mini bottle of vodka in my purse..” Her brown eyes squinting as she thought about it. “Or some morning sex to get the blood flowing again. Both are great and fun to share.” She commented taking a sip of her caramel espresso. “For real though, Tylenol may be your best friend.” 

Jayden eyes the woman as she takes a seat across from her, narrowing slightly as she speaks. “5 seconds and you’ve talked about alcohol, sex, and drugs.” She deadpans before letting a smile pull over her lips. “My kinda girl.” she holds out her hand. “Jayden. And I’ll take the vodka if you’re offering.” 

Evan shook her head at her sister as she drank her own coffee. “You know, it’s not really that loud in here.” She looked around at the few people in the shop. Granted, it could have been quieter for the amount of people in there. “And it’s also this is what you get for drinking so much.”

Jay makes a face at her sister. “You’re just deaf.” She reasons with a scrunch of her face. She lets out a sigh “No need to rub it in, just a reminder I’m getting older.” She groans but it slips into a grin. “Ha, we’re getting older.” 

August had gone to check on Jayden after he got home from taking Leia from a walk, only to find his friend was missing from the spare room she’d claimed. He wasn’t too worried about it, Jay was a big girl and he had no doubt she’d be able to make her way around the city. It was when he made his daily stop at the coffee shop that he found Jayden. “Out of practice, Jay.” He teased taking a seat across from her. “You know I had coffee at my place right?”

She sets him with a glare. “As if, big guy.” She says attempting to laugh but stopping as the pounding returns to her head. “Correction.” She holds up a finger. “You had bad coffee at your place. Besides Figured I might as well get out, see what this place is all about.”  

“I dunno who August is,” he shrugged a little. He thought for a moment, debating on giving up his work name, or his real name. Since he wasn’t dressed for the occasion, he thought about telling her, but deciding on a half way point instead. “Sunny.”

She waves it off. “A friend I”m staying with.” her brows knit together unevenly as she watches him seemingly search for a response. She’s curious to the pause where most would simply say their name, but figures it’s not her place to as. “Sunny huh? Got the disposition to go along with the name?” It was a bad joke, she knew it, but chuckled none the less. 

Holden rose a brow at the woman, pursing his lips. “Hangover doesn’t look pretty on you.” He took a sip of his coffee. “This city thrives at night, I guess you’d think coffee shops would be chill but honey we all gotta wake up somehow.”

“Just what a girl likes to hear from a stranger.” She shrugs it off though, because of course she looks like shit and feels worse. “should have just stayed at Augusts and had coffee there.” She say simply. “But here I am out being a normal human being so HI... I’m Jayden.”

Dorian didn’t like to use the term scouting- it sounded so…. devious. Maybe it was, a little, but based on most accounts it always ended in the best way possible. His subjects were always fulfilled, and they got the chance to be immortalized in his work. It was cold, but sunny, and so he was sitting outside in a winter coat, his bare, frigid fingers gripping a piece of sketching charcoal. No one had caught his attention yet, but he was still idly sketching out a faceless figure, ambiguous limbs shaping against the page. “What do you think?” he asked suddenly to a pair of approaching footsteps, not even looking up. The words were muffled by a cigarette between his lips, which he quickly pulled out with two delicate fingers. “Too debonair? I hate debonair sometimes. It’s so cliché .”

Jayden had been in town a few hours now, she’d had the intention of going straight to see August but with all he’d told her of this place she’d been curious to poke around the town before seeing her friend. She comes to a stop in front of a man asking about a sketch and peers over a the page. “Cliches are that for a reason... looks good man.” She shrugs. Having been around enough artists she knew most wanted the truth. “Barley finished though so maybe ask when it’s closer to complete?”
