“It’s really good,” she nodded, knowing most people hadn’t actually read it. “I’m technically just a T.A but I teach a few sections of intro Sociology.”

“Intro sociology,” Jasper repeated without a real understanding of the subject. “And what exactly is that all about?”

Kara was sprawled out on her couch in the main living space of her apartment and when she heard his voice she sat up a bit so she could see him over the back of the couch. A smile tugged at her lips as she saw him and she pulled the hand that had presently been teasing herself away. “Finally.” She was off the couch in a moment and in the next she had her fingers gripping his jacket and pulling him down as she leant up, her lips only just brushing his. “I need you.”

“Your secret’s safe with me, trust me.”

“You don’t exactly have a face I can trust.”

“Right now? I guess I can go ahead without any warning if that’s what you’d want,” Jasper said before clearing his throat. “If I told you that you had a nice body, would you hold it against me?”

“No kidding,” she chuckled at his pun. “It’s called The Presentation of Self in Everyday Life by Erving Goffman,” she turned over the book to show him the cover. “I’ve read it before, I’m just refreshing my memory so I can teach it next week.” 

“I can’t say I’ve read that,” Jasper admitted. “What class do you teach?”

Roisin swung the sword she was holding a few times. “So I read an article that said that sword fighting is a really good arm workout. I think they were right.”

“And you’re not worried about what it does to your public persona?”

“Charming depending on who that effect is on. Teenage boys and drunkards on the street, no. Men like you though– maybe so.”

“Tell you what, whenever the teenagers and drunkards become to much, you can come to me for more suitable come on’s. Does that sound fair?”

Kara: Fucking amazing. Please hurry I’m about to get off just thinking about you here

Greta looked up, then without a word moved to the other side of the table. “Thanks for the warning,” she laughed. “They say it’s good luck but I don’t think there’s any luck in poop on a book.”

“Or any luck at all, sounds like a real shitty day if you ask me,” Jasper told her. “What book are you reading?”

Kara: Fuck, yes please

Kara: Promise I’ll get off twice and I’d say it sounds more than good

Kara: What time do you get off work? If you promise to hurry, I think I'll just have to keep myself ready for when you get here.

“Unwillingly. It seems we have no choice but to love you men for it sometimes.”

“You have to admit it’s somewhat charming to know the effect you can have.”

“HI,” Greta looked up from her book, “I’m sorry, did you say something?”
