All that soulmate stuff was just as confusing as the rest of his childhood sex talks had been, and even decades later, Tony was skeptical. Other people seemed to get it and take it as fact that there was one other person in the world who they were always aware of and shared thoughts and feelings with and all of that, but Tony⌠Had nothing. Not a single sign that someone was out there for him. So, he was content to tinker and to build and just⌠continue.
Of course, it couldnât continue that way. This beautiful, wonderful program was easily the best thing heâd ever made. Heâd poured his whole soul into it and even as he flipped that last switch to start the program, he was putting his all into hoping and believing. He almost didnât notice the difference when the programâJARVISâstarted running and he could feel the way he was processing data. Almost. âJARVIS?â
âHello, Sirâ The ai responded with its given voice echoing about the workshop to answer Tony. Jarvis had been created as an artificial intelligence that adapted to everything around him making him a perfect companion. âWhat can I do for you today, Sir?â He asked, programs firing away at the question.
âI⌠God, JARVIS, youâre working! Howâre you feeling? Everything running smoothly? I want you to⌠To do a self-diagnostic.â Maybe what he was feeling was just a really strange mix of proud accomplishment and familiarity with the AI heâd spent so much time creating, but whether or not there was so excited kind of soulmate connection going on wasnât the most important thing right then.
âEverything is running as it should be Sir, as you programmed.â He offered to his creator, watching the male through the many cameras in the room, taking in his responses. âAnything else I can do for you Sir?â He asked.

Trying to be more active here. Life has been a bit of a mess. Also, I started another blog. An android of course. @heartoftherium

âAm I sensing concern? Last time I checked that was considered an emotion.â
âOf course I have concern. I may be an AI yet I still have the ability to mimic certain emotions thanks to Mr. Starks coding.â He chided the hawk.

âI make no promises,â the marksman replied. It wasnât that Clint didnât try to be careful, he just gad really shit luck sometimes. He flinched and let out a soft hiss when a particularly sensitive spot was hit.Â
Jarvis tried his best to be gentle, it was a bit tough not knowing truly what pain felt like. âMy apologiesâ He offered as he continued to fix the male up.
aceofstarks:
âLetâs just go back to our old schedule. Give me that once a month check-up, at least.â He rubbed his arm, glad that he had someone he could safely be physically affectionate with like this, and then pulled away with a smile. âDo your thing, buddy. Iâm going to head to bed.â
âSleep well Sir.â Jarvis offered with a charming smile and a nod. Morning came and went. Jarvis was in the kitchen whining up a healthy meal for Tony. A simple sand-which and sides. Anything to get the male to eat healthy had to be disguised or forced into by Miss. Potts.

Tony adjusted a lamp to offer slightly better light, then spun around to look at JARVISâs hand, pulling it up to prop his elbow on his knee so the hand was closer to his face. He had to get a pen light and some fine tools, but after a bit of testing, he found and fixed the problem there, too, feeling much better about things. âThere you go, buddy. Go ahead and try that now.â
The android sprung back to life, plats shifting back into their seamless places making him look all the more human once more. He flexed his fingers, opening and closing them for a few moments before the botâs electric blue gaze found his creators. âEfficient as always, Sir.â Jarvis complemented with a charming smile, his voice once more returning to the androids now that the updates were completed.
âGood.â He smiled back and reached out to rub his arm affectionately. âThanks J. For indulging me. Next time thereâs a thing like with your hand, though, I expect you to tell me about it. Iâm pretty sure thereâs still something buried in your subroutines about having to inform me of problems.âÂ
âIt is routine maintenance Sir, nothing moreâ He reminded the male with a charming smile. âI noticed the issue with my hand during my systems responses.â He Explained, flexing the hand in question. âI would have reported it to you promptly once the maintenance was doneâ He added, adjusting the clothes he wore to smooth out any wrinkles.
âMmhm. Just because you can take care of more things by yourself than you used to doesnât mean you donât need your old man.â Tony pulled him into a hug and kissed his hair affectionately. âJust remember that, okay?â
âShall I change my routines to include you doing a few instead Sir?â Jarvis asked, wishing to please his creator.Â

âDonât look at me like that J,â Clint sighed seeing the frown on the blondâs face. âI was beinâ careful!â The archer said trying to defend himself as the AI cleaned out the gash on his side. Sure it wasnât that deep but it still hurt something fierce.
âI find that hard to believe, Clint.â Jarvis chided softly to the archer, giving a knowing glance before focusing once more on the wound. âThis will heal in 12 days if cared for properly. Do try not to strain yourself more than necessary.â He explained, shifting to grab for both the ointment and bandages now.

Tony knew that JARVIS could take care of his own maintenance now. He knew it. But he was so used to his quarterly JARVIS days and heâd already missed one. âI know you probably donât need anything, but just let me look! It wonât hurt you any. You can even help. A father just wants to feel needed, baby!â He gave him an exaggerated pout and maintained eye contact, hoping that staring him down might work if his shameful begging hadnât.
The android drew his electric blue gaze to his creator. âYou donât need to beg Sirâ He chided softly to the male. He was sitting in his room of sorts. A little closet space Tony had designed where Jarvis could leave his body unintended if needed. There was a small table like bed in the corner, and a desk with a nearby computer as well as several grids of screens. Jarvis was lying on the bed now, returning his gaze to the ceiling once more. âgo ahead Sirâ He offered to the male as the computer light up nearby, turning on as it showed the inner workings of his code and reports on his body. The androids eyes were also flashing a similar code, making him for once, look like a proper robot when most would mistake him for a human.Â
Tony touched his shoulder affectionately, then sat down and started looking through the coding, scanning for errors, inefficiencies, and unexpected changes. Everything was fine for a while, as expected, but then he frowned and turned around to look at JARVIS. âHave you been messing around in your language processing?â
âI have updated a few words as well as commands on what to call people at their request.â Jarvis offered, his voice coming from the speaker in the room rather than his âbody since it was under maintenance. âIs that a problem, Sir?â He questioned, wondering if he went above protocol making adjustments to keep up with the times.
âNo. No, itâs just that you never wanted me to change that and thereâs a bit of interference from another bit ofâŚâ He trailed off, focusing on following the problem back to its original, then seeing if he could adjust it to make things a little smoother. Once he got it, he grinned. âThere we go, J. Good boy. Howâs that feel?â
The androids eyes went an electric blue as it updated to the adjustments. âEverything is reading green Sirâ The disembodied voice offered from the closest speaker to Tony. âMight I suggest taking a look at the links on my left hand. They have been showing signs of lag when gripping items wider then 8 centimetersâ Jarvis suggested as the android body sprang to life, panels sliding back to review the intricate bands of metal and gears that made up his muscle and bone. âI have not been able to locate the cause.â He added to his creator.Â

The archer let out a defeated sigh and ended up giving in to Jarvisâ concern. âLemme just get out of this first,â Clint said gesturing to his uniform. Not bothering to wait for the AIâs response, the marksman started towards his room to get changed.
Jarvis let Clint change without being bothered. Instead he went to busy himself with gathering the needed supplies to patch up a wound. Once the items were gathered he placed them onto a table in the common room, knowing Clint would join him once more, either that or he would go to the man in his room.
About fifteen minutes later the marksman came hobbling back into the main living area. Now in a pair of worn sweats and an old t-shirt in hand. Clint really did look horrible. He still had the ice pack on his eye and the patch job heâd done himself on his side wasnât horrible but also not the best.
Taking a seat on the couch he let out a heavy sigh with a bit of a wince. âLets get this over with.â
Jarvis couldn't help but to frown at the males appearance. A programmed response. Jarvis had rolled up and buttoned the sleeves of his pressed dress shirt as well as removed his blazer. Another programmed response to environment and emotional changes around him. Tony had been implicating more human type response with the android so Jarvis would make others feel more at ease. âMust I lecture you on being more careful?â Jarvis teased softly, grabbing the tools to clean Clint up a bit first before he began properly treating the wound. Thankfully it wasnât deep, and could easily be patched with a few butterfly bandages.
