Update it’s gonna be brown :)

#usually nettles make a light greenish grey but because I let them start to rot slightly it’s more brown than anything else #which I’m fine with it’s looking nice and it’s only been ten minutes #dyeing

#the fan is on so high because it smells like cow #which isn’t bad compared to what it could be but not a smell you want lingering in the kitchen

Nearly finished with part one of my final project! (Two needle lace test pieces.) Backing fabric is 15 x 15 cm.

#if anyone who sees this actually has that book the stripes in between the tabby is a very simple swedish lace #irl there’s a very visible point where I got fed up with the varpspännare leaving holes in my edges😭🫩 im hoping it rights itself in the wash

It’s all embroidery! The lace is sewn, at least partially, with the worlds smallest blanket stitches around frames of thread

#very sorry to reblog straight from you I just think it’s very very cool that it’s seemingly mostly SEWN!!! that’s so fucking cool!#the parts that look like woven fabric are something else (dunno what but the grain goes along the same direction as the petals in the design #so i honestly don’t know if it’s appliqué sewn into the whitework. I haven’t found my embroidery teacher yet so I can ask her)#but from what I can gather on my own it’s mostly sewn #yes even the thicker little circles. and yes even the tulle #I love love love this collar can you tell #and the colourwork is samples of different embroidery stitches! irl they are veryyy tiny #about 7x7cm give or take
