      “ So foolish and so pretty. “ A chuckle came from the gold handed female. “ You truly think Vought and the Seven are doing this to help people? “ Something like that comes with a price. It’s fake mostly, in the end. Like her and Homelander, fake fights for them to get money once it gets publicity.

      “ I said you deserve better than the Seven. “

“You’re distracted,” Zatanna murmured, offering a delicate smile. “Is there something that troubles you, Starlight?” 

“Believe me now?” Annie asked as her powers caused the lights around them to flash and flicker. “I’m one of you.”

Annie chuckled, “No, no, you just singed me a little. It’s fine.” Looking down at her beloved Starlight costume, it wouldn’t take her long to fix it. “I’ve had much worse.” Hell, an acquaintance of her friend had shot her twice; being signed was nothing in comparison. 

“Well, yeah,” Annie said after a moment’s thought, “that’s why your super identity is Lamplighter, right? Not a great deal of mystery to that one.”
