Everyday for months as you walk past this coffee shop on the way to work, a beautiful young man has been sitting in the front window, drinking his coffee, but as you walk past, he lifts his eyes and smiles gently before his eyes flick back down to his coffee. Whether you start your walk a little earlier or later, he’s still there, sometimes with water droplets in his hair from the rain you slosh through outside. Today, the pattern stops. Rolling up your umbrella as you walk into the small, quiet shop, you move straight over to the man in the window and he pushes a still-steaming cup toward you as you sit down next to him. “You always leave bed early to come here before I’m even awake.” Still staring out the window, he snickers and rolls the warm cup between his hands. “I can’t have paparazzi catch me coming out of your apartment building. This place is at least innocuous enough that I can wish you a good day at work as you walk by. The coffee’s good, too. Though it doesn’t compare to waking up next to you and having you still wrapped around me with your hair a mess and still warm even though you’ve been sleeping without any clothes on.” You smirk into your cup as you take a sip, watching out the window with him for a moment as the rain keeps coming down. “We both have tomorrow off. Want to skip the routine and have coffee at my place?”
