BLOG #9 MVP
IS IT MOST VALUABLE PLAYER? HAHAHAHHA JUST KIDDING
For this weekâs lecture series, we have our speaker Engr. Miriam Bergado who discussed us about the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and Traction.
A Minimum Viable Product or MVP is a product with just enough features to attract early-adopter clients and verify a new concept early in the development cycle. MVP will help us to find clarity and focus on the core functionality of our product. Also it will help us to develop early relationship with the customer and  better understand what the customer needs.
Traction refers to the initial progress of a startup and the momentum it builds as it grows. Traction is important to us because the higher the traction, the more investors are attracted to our business.
Therefore, MVP and traction is the process of learning and validating a product with the least amount of work and resources in order to sell it and generate revenue.
BLOG #8 Back on Track
Itâs the first week for our final term. We still have hangovers from our midterm exams but we have to proceed for the next level!!
This weekâs lecture series is all about Business Model and Canvas, which is discussed by our instructor Engr. Marberth Custer Jael. The Business Model Canvas is a strategic management template used for developing new business models and documenting existing ones.
The Business Model Canvas comprises of 9 components which are the following:
1. Value Proposition - equivalent to your value model.
2. Customer Segment - equivalent to customer profile.
3. Channel - the access of the customer for your product.
4. Customer Relationship - building relationship between your customers and your products.
5. Revenue Model - this is how your products generates money.
6. Key Resources - this refer to the resources that are necessary to carry out the products.
7. Key Partners - these are the partners that will help  in raising your products.
8. Key Activities - these are the activities that will help you gain profit out of your product.
9. Cost Structure - this provides the cost information that occurs during the operations.
Business Model Canvas is important because it helps visualize what is important and forces users to address key areas.
BLOG #7 First Pitch
This week marks our preparation and our final presentation for our first pitch.
The pitch went well, we delivered it with all our efforts. We are glad with the panelâs comment to improved more in our presentation and our product.
BLOG #6: Nice Meeting You!
It has been always exciting for me to engage and meet new people with different interest. Technopreneurship doesn't just teach you to market your product but also let you engage and to learn from others.Â
For this week, we met different people who could be our target users in the future. Questions and validations were thrown to helps us in our project in the future.
Some are students, public workers and medical front liners. Here are some screenshots of the said meetings:
They gave some insights regarding our project probably helps us in improving the features that we have planned to include in our system/ project.
BLOG #5: Will You Be Our Project?
This weekâs highlight is our 3 proposal project for our upcoming pitching. Based on the problems we have noticed around us, we came up to these ideas;Â Infrared Sensors to be Installed In Entrance and Exit Doors, 2nd-hand Book Finder Application, and the Medicine Supply Monitoring System. Before we came up with this projects, we consider different aspects especially our target users/ respondents.Â
For this weekâs lecture, our very own adviser for this course, Engr. Marberth Custer Jael shared his knowledge about Value Proposition.Â
A value proposition is a pledge to deliver, convey, and recognise value. It's also the customer's expectation of how value will be supplied, experienced, and gained. This is very important for people who are engaging in business or entrepreneurship.Â

BLOG #4: Hello, mga âSUKIâ!
Just like the other past weeks, we started the week with a lecture. Ms. Cherish Delight Mahinay shared her knowledge with the lecture entitled âHow to talk to users and validate your ideasâ
The topic would help me and my team as our future reference. We discussed the lecture more thoroughly and shared our opinions. As per result, the team also discussed our target users/ respondents and came up to select on who are our target users in our project.
Before the meeting end we posed for a photo dump for a remembrance:
A fun meeting with fun backgrounds!Â
BLOG #3: Together Everyone Achieves More (TEAM)
Hello, itâs been a while! On our third week, the lecture was about Team Formation. It was led by our guest speaker Ms. Rhea Suzette she have explained with us of how Team Formation utilizes a team function.Â
It was a nice lecture by Maâam. Indeed to know each others vulnerable in each member is very useful to work more efficiently. It was discussed that in forming a team for Technopreneurship has its own form and could be identified as the Hacker, Hustler, and the Hipster.Â
So our team decided to have a meeting through Google to discuss. We agreed to the following designation: Mr. Beja as the Hacker, I and Ms. Estopin as the Hipsters and Mr. Go, as the Hustler. It was indeed a good discussion.Â
BLOG #2: Startup!
Last September 13, 2021 the second week for the lecture series for our course Technoprenuership. The lecture has two speakers which are Mr. Jirby Laniton who shared his knowledge about Opportunity Recognition and Needs Analysis and Ms. Geisha Getuaban for Startup in Real Life: Transforming My Idea to Innovation.
As a student who is inclined to technology field, to start an startup is one of our goal. The techniques that was discussed and used by other start-up venture who are now successful are very useful for us young technopreneurs. On social medias, being updated to trends is a great use to be seek for opportunity on what startup can be established.Â
We were overwhelmed by the week with a lots of school works but me and my team grabbed the chance to meet and start discussing our future project. We gathered ideas, shared our thought and knowledge, spoke about stuff related to technology. The lecture for this week was a big help for us we based our ideas over the issues presented by the speakers.Â
We hope and pray that the information we acquired and discussed during the lecture would be useful to us in our future endeavor.
These were all for the week 2. More blogs to come! Thank you and stay safe.
BLOG # 1: A cup of me
Cheers to the new school year!Â
In this semester, I, Jamie Alisha B. Flores an aspiring Computer Engineer is currently enrolled to the course Technopreneurship at the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines. I'm in my twenties now, and as I get older, my interest in technology grows, motivating me to study more. I'm confident that this course will satisfy my curiosity while also providing me with information that will be useful in the sector I've chosen in the future.
We met our semester-long groupmates during our first week. The course Technopreneurship was also briefly presented, and expectations for the semester were reviewed. Aside from that, we were also required to take the 16 Personality Test and Berkley Innovation Index test. Here are my results:
PERSONALITY TEST
I AM AN ADVOCATE
Advocates are the rarest personality types of all. Still, Advocates leave their mark on the world. They have a deep sense of idealism and integrity, but they arenât idle dreamers â they take concrete steps to realize their goals and make a lasting impact.
To be honest, I was surprised to learn that I am more introverted than extraverted after seeing the results. I believe the pandemic has an impact on how I communicate and connect with others. It taught me to be self-sufficient and capable of doing things on my own. I've also come to learn that being alone isn't the same as being lonely.
MY ROLE IS DIPLOMAT
I'll confess that I'm a talkative person, but nothing makes me happier than a meaningful and real discussion.
Fortunately, Diplomats tend to have a deep intuitive sense of what is right for them. Many of these personality types find that by tuning into this wisdom â and honoring it â they can find satisfaction and meaning in their everyday lives, no matter what challenges arise along the way.
THE WAY I APPROACH
Knowing myself, I find it tough to open up or connect effectively, especially in the virtual world. I have a tendency to overthink things, which leads to me being misinterpreted.Â
In general, Constant Improvers care a great deal about what others think of them. This can trigger insecurity, to be sure, but when kept in balance, it can create some truly wonderful traits. These personalities are often curious about and sensitive to othersâ feelings. This can make them excellent listeners, friends, confidants, and partners.
BERKLEY INNOVATION INDEX TEST
This test reveals that I continue to lack trust, remain in my comfort zone, and have a poor innovation zone. This is something I'm hoping to better as a result of this course. But on the other hand, I do have a high result on resilience, diversity, belief, allocation and collaboration. I could put these to good use in the future, particularly in terms of innovation and communication with others.
That was just our first week. Stay tuned for more! Thank you!Â
