I know some of you wanted the Leroux kiss to end with a kiss on the mouth, but I actually prefer it the way it is. A kiss on the mouth might have been a clear show of romantic feelings, but a kiss to the forehead carries all the love he was denied in life; platonic, romantic, familial, etc. There’s something equally beautiful in the fact that Christine chooses to give it. There’s no pressure on her now. He’s let her go. And still, she chooses to kiss him.

i can tell when a fanfic has been written by a woman older than 35—they can depict love, loss, and sacrifice in a way young people have yet to experience, or shall i say, experience in a way that only time and patience can mold. only a woman could balance raising children, maintaining a steady job, and being the emotional epicenter that holds their family together while also setting aside time to write gay fanfiction with such precision and skill that published romance authors would tremble with intimidation in their wake
