Tell you all about it || Jake & Kane

Kane nodded, running a hand through his hair. “Yeah, that’s fair. I would just take the stuff that you need or mean something to you. The rest you could replace there, leave for your parents.” He pressed his back against the couch, offered Jake a small smile. He really did want things to work out for him, to get phone calls and texts that he was having a great time. Nothing about his parents mocking him or belittling him — just Jake being happy, or as close as he could get to that. “Hey, how about we watch a movie for a while, yeah? And we can begin the heavy packing tomorrow.”

"Sure." Jake smiled at the suggestion, the same thing he did with Amy a couple of nights ago. He got up from the couch, heading for the TV. He knew exactly what he was going to play, so a couple of minutes later, Lord of the Rings was on the screen and Jake was back on the couch. "Hope you're rested. We can make some food later, too, or something." Jake smiled at Kane, leaning against the couch, making himself comfortable.

Finding Out: Jake ♡ Amy

Amy allowed the silence to play out as Jake rested his head against hers. This was coming to an end soon. How did she blink, flash forward all of these years and wind up at a stage where a goodbye would be imminent. She closed her eyes for a moment. She then inhaled. She wasn’t going to cry again. She was going to enjoy tonight. “I agree completely. You officially have a movie and packing buddy. However, I don’t want to think about that right now. We’re going to watch Toy Story and enjoy this, okay?”

"Thanks, I could use that. But I agree, let's just watch the movie." He smiled and focused on the screen. There was a lot to think about, a lot of things to take care of, packing was probably one of the things that he was stressing about the most. This and just getting everything closed up in here so once he's gone, he wouldn't have to worry about anything popping up here. Okay, stop, he thought. Movie. He was going to watch the movie, not worry about the move. He figured he can take a break, at least for tonight and not think about the fact that he'll be gone soon.
