Rex is greatly adding the impetus for an epic Facepalm from Mace Windu.

…a clone army. And, I must say, one of the finest we’ve ever created.

          You can trust them, Ahsoka had said ——— what she hadn’t known, is that Kanan Jarrus had trusted no one who had been a participant in The Clone Wars. It had been a dark time for everybody, a dark time for the Jedi… a dark time for Caleb Dume. His Master, taken from him, before he had the chance to learn how to live for himself. It left him terrified, and broken. He would always be broken. These were things he dare not say aloud. Things he dare not let anybody know of, to use against him. It was better that way, to not open up. To not get attached. Attachment only left room for loss. Loss led to the very epitome of what Kanan Jarrus was today. Destroyed. 

          The initial introduction had gone about as well as one would expect. Kanan was merely professional ——— all business. They were here, working together, for the greater good, for a cause, for a mission… now wasn’t the time, nor would it ever be, to make friends. Especially not with the likes of Clone Troopers. Captain Rex, had been a name he was familiar with… his legacy dating all the way back to when Kanan Jarrus was still Caleb Dume. He knew of him. He knew that he already despised him. With arms folded across his chest and a hint of something almost similar to a pout, he just turned his head away from the group and made the off-handed comment.

rex didn’t BUSY HIMSELF witht he workings of the galaxy. he did not WASTE the day away sneaking in holovids of the latest GOSSIP like many common members of society. even before the REBELLION- before the EMPIRE- he had been a man of DUTY, an impeccable work ethic placed neatly next to his name in every general’s report. all that rex knew about KANAN JARRUS was from ahsoka and her. . .associates. YES. that was the right word. no- he didn’t have FRIENDS anymore    (    no one in the rebellion did    )    he gained all his information from OUTDATED government files and anything ahsoka’s ASSOCIATES could muster up. he had nothing against the MAN- nothing against ANYONE, ANYMORE. he had realized years ago    (    while he was first on the run with ahsoka    )    that they only enemy was the EMPIRE. the young man’s COMMENT causes the captain to disengage from WHATEVER ahsoka had been explaining to look at him, QUESTION laced into his chocolate brown eyes. this guy was a JEDI?    (    or WHATEVER was closest to it nowadays. ahsoka had been the only JEDI in his life for longer than he really liked to recall.    )    the CAPTAIN crosses arms over his chest, still fit as ever, and huffs, FORGETTING for but a moment that old MINDSET- that all jedi outranked him. there was one way to earn the RESPECT of the clone captain- and making off-handed comments was not one of them.

the CLONE CAPTAIN chuckles, memories RESURFACING in the form of both WITTY REMARKS and the distant HUM of a cerulean lightsaber. general skywalker was a MAN OF HIS MEN, he always liked to say, and now, now he could do nothing but WONDER what became of him- and whether or not his UNDYING loyalty to him had disappeared with him.
