Tried to be aesthetic, it didn't work out. I'm a dry, annoying weirdo who's having an existential crisis after twenty years of living in this boring world. I have too many alter-egos and personalities because my interests change every fucking week. Its a cycle of phases really -- KPOP, MINECRAFT, TOG, COLLEEN HOOVER, OBX, MARVEL, BOOKS. Right now, my book phase somehow merged with my Dream SMP addiction and I caved. Im an idiot. Enjoy this stupid account that has become my portal for escapism.

Wanting to uncover the reasons to her differences, she embarked on a journey to the West where she met a few Strays,, including a man named Hwang Hyun Jin who, just like her, was cold, hot headed, and full of distrust. Chapter 8 ~ “Instincts.. I guess.”
prev // next
The ride back home was quiet with only silent questions lingering in the air. I knew all of them were desperate to know about Levi. Yet, none of them spoke of it, allowing us to recover from the terrifying turn of events.
I wouldn’t have made it alive if it weren’t for the magical appearance of the three guys I was with. I couldn’t even imagine what terrible things could have happened to Levi. He was as good as dead, so I didn’t speak about what actually happened. It felt like the sympathetic thing to do for his friends. To leave them with a memory of how they knew Levi, not with a memory of him being the sad and selfish coward he truly was.
Noticing that my breaths had calmed down, Hyunjin let me go, allowing the cold breeze of wind replace the now-empty space where he used to be. I almost wanted to bury myself back into his chest, wanting to feel his comfort and warmth again.
“Minho, how steadily can you drive?” Hyunjin asked, a bag of surgical thread in his hands. My eyes widened as I shook my head vigorously,
“No freaking way, Hyunjin. Not with his driving.”
I was met with Minho’s frown through the front mirror, followed by his offended scoff. Just then, the car harshly swerved to the right, barely avoiding an abandoned car Minho failed to notice. I held onto the seat in front of me, preventing myself from getting thrown into Hyunjin by the force.
“Point proven.” Han remarked, forming an embarrassed smile on Minho’s face.
By the time we got back to Camp Miroh, the moon had replaced the sun. The compound was calm. No kids running around. No parties around the campfire. Just the guards either walking around the compound, or stationed at their posts. I only realised how late it had gotten when it occurred to me that most of the Camp’s residents were already asleep in their bunks.
Chan and Woojin ran towards us, a worried yet relieved look on their faces.
“We thought you guys were dead.” Woo Jin exclaimed as we stepped out of the car.
“Almost.” Han replied.
Chan scanned was the four of us, immediately noticing the missing member, “Levi?”
I shifted uncomfortably, wrapping my arms around myself as I felt everyone’s eyes land on me. Only I knew what happened. But I couldn’t bring myself to blurt it out. It almost seemed wrong.
I looked up to Chan, giving him an apologetic look because I couldn’t give him an answer he expected. Chan flashed me a soft smile, implying that he understood,
“It’s okay. We’ll talk tomorrow. Get Seungmin to patch you up and get some rest. You too, Hyunjin.” He ordered, before beckoning Han and Minho to follow him back to his office.
Hyunjin opened his mouth to argue, only to receive a daring look from Chan.
“Take care of your injuries before I give you more to suffer with. I mean it, Hyunjin.” Chan turned back to his office with the other three right at his tail, leaving Hyunjin with the slightest pout on his face.
The corner of my lips twitched into a smirk, finding it amusing how Chan had the power to order the cold guy around. My smirk fell when I caught Hyunjin’s glare, immediately softening my look to an innocent one,
“...What?”
The infirmary was dark and empty when we reached. Hyunjin managed to locate the light switch, brightly illuminating the room with white light. I half expected Seungmin to be asleep in one of the patient beds, given that he usually spent his nights in the infirmary rather than our shared bunk. So I was surprised when I saw nothing but neat and empty beds.
“I’m guessing he’s back at our bunk. I’ll go get him.” I told Hyunjin, who was busy looking through Seungmin’s organised drawer of medical supplies.
He shook his head, bringing out a suture kit and a pack of gauze. “It’s fine. I got it.”
Hyunjin nodded towards the metal table situated at the corner of the room. I followed and sat on its edge, letting my legs dangle off the taller table. Yet, despite being elevated by the furniture, Hyunjin was still a head taller than me.
I bit the insides of my cheeks as I watched him unpack the surgical thread. The last time Seungmin stitched me up, I was unaware. Now that I was fully alert, my body tensed upon seeing the sharp end of the needle. I held my breath, trying my best to remain calm in front of Hyunjin. He didn’t need to see me vulnerable again.
“A-Are you sure you’ve done this before?” I asked, failing to keep my voice stable.
Hyunjin instantly caught on, raising his brow, “You’re fine with the walking dead but not this? I guess you’re not as tough as you pretend to be.”
I turned away with my arms crossed, not pleased with the smug look that spread on his face, “Just get it over with.”
After cleansing my wound, he turned to me with the needle driver prepped and ready in his hands. I shut my eyes tightly, holding my breath as I awaited the piercing pain.
“Stop frowning. I can’t see where I’m supposed to stitch with your goddamn wrinkles.”
My eyes shot open, letting out the most offended scoff I could possibly give. “What am I supposed to do, Hyunjin? I thought it was obvious that I really don’t like needles.” I exclaimed, exasperated.
Hyunjin chuckled, shocking me for a split second. His laugh was soft and short, but it definitely left a mark. It made my stomach flutter for a moment. Though, I wasn’t sure if it was due to his laugh or due to my immense fear of what was about to happen.
“Just look at me and enjoy the view.” He said, a small hint of smile still remnant from his laugh.
I rolled my eyes, finding myself smiling back. Sighing, I readjusted my position and did as he told, meeting his eyes. It was a weird feeling. It felt as if I was meeting his eyes for the first time, when I’ve done it millions of times before. (Mostly to glare at him). Though, his eyes were different when he wasn’t glaring. They were no longer dull and lifeless, but something new sparkled in them. Something that resembled a kid-like amusement. It caught me off guard, seeing Hyunjin under a different light.
As he stitched me up, I focussed on every feature of his face. As much as I disliked Hyunjin, I had no doubt that he was loved by many before the apocalypse hit. His looks were out of this world. I couldn’t even imagine how many girls had fallen for him before the world ended. I even wondered if I, being the romantic, cliché girl I was, would have fallen for him too if we had met before the walkers.
The sound of metal banging against metal snapped me out of my thoughts, making me realise that Hyunjin had finished.
“We’re done here. Rest we—“
“Not yet.” I cut him off, holding onto the hem of his shirt before he could walk out of the room. He glanced back at me, confused, “Why? Are you hurt anywhere else?”
I shook my head, jumping off the table and grabbing the necessary supplies from the counter, “I’m not. You are.”
“I’m fine. It’ll heal by itself.”
“Will you just sit, Hyunjin?” I asked, frustrated. He did throw himself in front of a bullet for me, and the least I could do was to make sure that he was treated for the wound that was indirectly caused by me.
I challenged his gaze, making sure that it wasn’t a competition he could win.
He finally complied and took the seat which I previously occupied. He lifted the hem of his shirt, revealing a much deeper wound than I had expected. Hours ago, he claimed that the bullet had merely scratched him, yet, from what I was seeing, the bullet did a lot more than that. His flesh was ripped and indented, creating a bloody mess just above his hip. My heart sank, feeling the pang of guilt hit me even more. It must’ve hurt a lot, and it would’ve continued getting worse if Chan hadn’t forced him to get treated. If I hadn’t forced to treat him.
As I began to clean his wound, his eyes laid on me. Was this how I was being when he was stitching me up?
“How were you so sure that he wasn’t someone we should help?” Hyunjin sparked a conversation, referring to the ‘right arm’ man we had encountered earlier.
“The same reason you didn’t want to help me in the first place.” I replied, “Instincts.”
Once the antiseptic landed on his skin, Hyunjin flinched, tightly grabbing my wrist in reflex. He hissed in pain with his face contorted. Though, unlike me, he didn’t look any less handsome. I paused, letting him squeeze my arm through the pain.
“Maybe a little warning next time?” His usual sarcasm evident in his voice.
“Maybe give me my wrist back?”
His nose scrunched in annoyance and he let my wrist go, allowing me to continue with patching him up. I did my best to clean his wound gently, blowing on it each time he hissed in pain.
“How about you?” I asked, beginning to tape the sides of the gauze down to his surrounding skin, “How were you so sure you could take my side?”
I met his gaze just as he tilted his head to the side, deep in thought.
“I wasn’t sure. It just felt like it was the right thing to do.” He said, shrugging his shoulders as a playful smile grew on his face,

Chapter 7 ~ “Okay, we’re not doing that again.”

“Holy Shi——“
He turned away as fast as his body could take him, running back towards the direction we just came from. A new group of walkers had just appeared in the new alley, our eyes meeting with theirs.
I grasped onto Levi’s arm, pulling him back and dragging him in the opposite direction.
“What the hell are you doing?” He questioned but I ignored him, unable to find the breath to respond as we ran away from the walkers who were right at our tail. His plan would have been suicide for all five of us, leading us right into a trap which sandwiched us in between two different groups of hungry cannibals.
My lungs burned for oxygen and my legs begged for me to stop, but I didn’t. Yet, despite these desperate efforts, we still could not lose the group behind us.
Levi and I took turns to look behind us, shooting as much of the walkers as we could, making sure that they didn’t get too close. We managed to maintain a decent distance between us and the walkers. Sweat dripped down from my forehead, stinging my eyes. My body felt like it was deteriorating because I was beyond exhausted. But the urge to live surpassed the feeling of death. I didn’t want to die. Not like this.
“Shit!” I exclaimed, realising that we entered an alleyway that had nothing but piled trash bins and a sad dead end.
“I’m out.” Simon told me, referring to his bullets, “You have any?”
I shook my head, checking the chamber of my gun to see only three shots left at my disposal. “Three left.”
A hoard of about six walkers were closing in on us, backing us up against the brick wall. They were held back by a small, broken gate which was certainly not going to hold. My mind frantically searched for a solution, struggling to stay positive. Three shots. Two humans. Six zombies. It seemed possible,, right? Who was I kidding? If we did actually manage to kill the six walkers in front of us, then it was likely that others would emerge. And it was likely that we’d no longer have the bullets nor the energy to run and fight them up close.
The brick wall behind us was about two stories high, meaning that Levi would’ve been able to get on top if he jumped high enough and was able to do a full pull up.
“Give me your gun, I’ll defend from up top, then I’ll help you up.”
I hesitated, unsure of leaving him with my gun. But there was no time to create a pros and cons list with the two possible decisions I could’ve made. The gates were breaking, allowing the first two walkers to enter and limp their way towards us. “Come on, Era!” Levi snapped.
There was no time to waste. I just needed to trust him, just like Han told me to. I threw it towards him, getting my knife out at the ready. I turned around, watching as the walkers came closer and closer.
I kept my eyes on the walkers, readying myself in case they got too close. Behind me, Levi was struggling to pull himself up. Trust him, Era. I told myself.
“I’m sorry for this, Era.” I heard Levi mumble. I was only able to show a confused expression before I was shoved forward towards the walkers, causing me to knock my head onto the edge of one of the garbage bins with a loud bang.
I was on the ground, faced down. The world around me spun as I tried to lift myself up with my arms. My head throbbed and my vision was blurred, only allowing me to see the outline of Levi finally managing to pull himself up the wall. He shot me one last look before disappearing to the other side, leaving me. This scenario just felt all too familiar. This is what I get for trusting people again.
I placed my palm onto the corner of my forehead, feeling its wetness. I was still in a daze, my painful head unable to comprehend what had just happened. When I brought my hand back down, it was stained red, making me realise that the wetness dripping down my head was my blood.
I only came to when one of the walkers launched at me, knocking me back to my senses and allowing me to roll to the side just in time. In one swift motion, I dug the knife into its eyes, killing it. I scrambled back up onto my feet, snapping myself out of the daze I was just in as I let adrenaline take over. Not even a second later, another one had pounced onto me. With kick in the head, I pulled the knife out and grabbed a brick with my other hand, smashing it into the fallen walker.
I dodged the other zombie that pounced on me, noticing the small but free opening between the zombies back towards the road. I couldn’t stay here. I was cornered, outnumbered, so I ran with all my might, dodging as many walkers as I could.
The roads weren’t any better as I was faced with more of them, their eyes turning to me as soon as the breeze of my scent blew past them. The ghastly groans and screeches of walkers sent my mind in an uncontrollable frenzy because it emphasised the fact that they were everywhere. There was no way out. Both tears and sweat stung my eyes as I struggled to gasp for air, scanning and running to any possible place I could reach.
A walker appeared out of nowhere, knocking me off my feet as I pushed it back, keeping it away from my face as possible. Its paled and clouded eyes stared back at me, its yellowed and decaying teeth desperate to snap at my face. I shrieked, noticing another one running towards me.. and another.. and another.
With a kick, I rolled to the side as the walker landed to the spot I had previously occupied and I immediately dug the knife into its head. Before I could even get back on my feet, another had pounced on me, grabbing me by the ankle and crawling it’s way up onto me. It was either much stronger than the previous one, or I was much weaker than what I had been. My hands slipped and the creature missed my face by just a mere centimetre before my hands found its way back onto its shoulders, keeping it away from me.
The loud thundering crack of a gun was shot,
and then suddenly my predator was thrown to the side, its body going limp beside my own.
I thought I was dead. Everything seemed to stop. All I could hear was my ragged breaths as I scrambled to a sitting position, staring at the corpse that laid beside me.
A hand was placed on my shoulder, immediately causing my to swing my knife. Familiarity set in when my wrist was held back, a tight grasp around it.
“Okay, we’re not doing that again.”
I could finally breathe, letting the tears fall once Hyunjin’s face came into view. Never would I have thought that I’d be relieved seeing his face. More shots were being fired as Minho and Han stepped out of a dusty red car, preventing any more walkers from coming close.
Hyunjin placed an arm around my shoulders, each hand holding each arm of mine as he pulled me up from the ground.
I managed to stand with his help. Only I needed all of his help because the second he let go, my legs gave way - too numb and exhausted from all the running I had just done. Just as fast as I had fallen, he caught me before I hit the ground, maintaining a stable and strong hold of me around my waist.
He reached out for the wound on my head, checking it and then scanning me from top to bottom,
“Are you bit?”
I shook my head ‘no’, not having memories of the pain of a bite. Not that it mattered. Before fear and terror fully settled in, Hyunjin brought me to the back seat of the car. He slipped into the seat beside mine, slamming the door behind him while Minho and Han hopped into the front.
I had to cover my ears in attempts of blocking out the torturous moans and the loud thuds of the car as Minho bulldozed his way through the crowd. Hyunjin must’ve noticed me trembling uncontrollably because after much contemplation, he pulled me into his chest. He rubbed circles on my back with one hand while the other was on my head, helping me block the sounds which I wanted to disappear.
I will! I actually have a few chapters already written which I can’t put up without my laptop. Unfortunately, my family had to fly back home as my grandma just passed away :( We’re all still grieving but I’ll definitely post one up once I’m back home. Sorry for the wait!

Y/N takes the saying “falling for your soulmate” a little too literally,
“You okay up there?”
“Yup! I’m okay!”
You were DEFINITELY NOT okay. In fact, you were far from okay.
Earlier that day, you told yourself that you were going to have a simple and relaxing Saturday doing all the things you loved to do. You really needed the break, especially after two painful weeks of your final exams. So, with your sketchbook and your blue 2B pencil, you set off in an adventure, hoping to capture the most beautiful images in your drawing.
Keyword : hoping
Of course, nothing was ever simple with you.
Somehow, you found yourself on top of one of the oak trees in your neighbourhood. The feeling was surreal when you first found a spot on a stable branch. You had a nice view of your neighbourhood. The playground where kids roamed. The breeze was cool and fresh, unlike the hot, smokey air that polluted the grounds. It was a perfect place. Free from people. Free from technology. Simply you being lost in the art of your sketches.
You only realised that you were in an awkward position once you had finished your drawing. There were no branches stable enough for you to step on and the other larger branches were too far for your reach. Well, shit. So much for being simple.
“What it like up there?” The same boy asked, looking up at you. His fox like eyes were nearly shut, unable to withstand the brightness of the sun that was behind you.
You glanced down at him, faking a smile amidst your embarrassment, “It’s pretty nice. Nice view. Nice breeze. Nice...leaves.”
He nodded with the slight raise of his brows. He crossed his arms across his chest, leaning back to get a better look of your uncomfortable state on the branch before a cheeky chuckle escaped his lips.
“You’re stuck, aren’t you?”
You cleared your throat, letting out an awkward laugh. You were so sure your cheeks had turned red from embarrassment. Truly, being stuck in a tree is something only you could do,
“Me? Stuck? Pfft!”
You hoped that he would leave you alone so you could continue to try and get back onto the ground without the presence of a witness. But he didn’t. Instead, he tilted his head to the side, a teethy grin on his face. You sighed in defeat, accepting the embarrassment that dawned upon you,
“Yes.. Yes, I am.”
He chuckled, shaking his head at you. You couldn’t tell if the butterflies you were feeling in your stomach was from the humiliation or because the boy below you was cute. Terribly cute.
He looked like he was glowing under the rays of the sun. Sun-kissed. His brown eyes appeared golden, nearly forming a line as he gave you a smile with his eyes.
“Try reaching for that branch,” he suggested, pointing a finger to a sturdy-looking branch several metres away from you. You already tried,, many times. But even with your furthest stretch you were still short of reach.
“I can’t.” You replied, trying to reach for the branch to prove your point. The tip of your fingers barely touched the wood. “It’s too far.”
“Try a jump. It’ll be easy to get down from there.” He said, referring to the same branch.
Your jaw dropped and you stared at him in disbelief. You were METRES above ground, and there was no way you were going to risk your legs.. especially since you were more artistic than athletic.
“It’s an easy jump. I’m sure you can make it.” He reassured you. Though, it didn’t give you much help.
“And if I don’t?”
“Then I’ll catch you.”
He smiled, beginning to position himself right below the branch you were tasked to jump to. If you weren’t too busy trying to choose between life and death, you would have had time to fangirl over the cute and cliché phrase he had just muttered.
Sighing, you carefully stood up, dropping your sketchbook to the ground so that you had both hands to hold with. You eyed the branch, internally slapping yourself for getting into this situation. You took one quick glance towards the boy below you and he opened his arms, signalling that he was ready to catch you if need be.
You took a deep breath and jumped. Only breathing out when you felt the rough wood in your tight grasp as you hung from the branch. The boy below you cheered you on and you smiled, feeling proud that you managed to successfully jump.
Just as you were beginning to pull yourself up, the sound of wood cracking filled your ears and the branch you held onto shook.
“Oh shiii—-“
The branch snapped, sending you plummeting down onto the ground. You crashed into him, hearing both of you grunt as the air was knocked out of the both of you. The impact sent him back and the two of you fell onto the grassy floor.
The landing was hard. Yet, was not as bad as you had expected it to be.
You opened your eyes. You were right on top of him. Your hands rested on his chest while his were placed on your back. His face was inches away from yours, snapping you back to reality when he groaned in pain.
You pulled away, moving off of him, “I’m so sorry!”
“Well, that was certainly a much faster way of getting down.”
He spoke breathlessly, clutching his side as his face scrunched up uncomfortably. You hoped it was nothing. That it was just the painful aches he received from your crash, just like yours. You stood up, holding a hand out for him,
“I’m Y/N.”
He tried to form a smile. Extremely different in contrast to the bright smile he was giving you when you were still up in the tree. He extended his hand out, immediately pulling it away just as his fingers brushed against yours,
“I’m Jeongin —OW”
Well, that can’t be good.
“I’m really sorry again, Jeongin.”
After nearly four hours at your local hospital, the two of you were finally out. You frowned, feeling an extreme sense of guilt as you continued to stare at Jeongin’s elevated arm sling,, caused by yours truly.
“It’s really fine, Y/N. I’m glad you’re safely down from that tree.”
Your simple day became complicated in a flash. Got stuck in a tree for an hour, fell on top of a stranger you’ve never met before, stayed in the hospital for four hours because you broke the stranger’s rib. So much for first meetings.
You dropped him off at his doorstep, thinking it was the least you could do for all the trouble you had caused him.
“You have my number, right? Just call me if you need anything. I really want to make it up to you.”
“Actually,” he replied, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly with his good hand, “Do you want to.. maybe hang out sometimes? You know, without trees, or risky jumps, or broken ribs.”
You laughed, immediately nodding your head. Who knew you’d end up creating a friend by being stuck in a tree?
“I would love to.”
“So, where’d you find your boyfriend?”
Felix, your Australian bestfriend, asked as he brought his coffee mug to his lips. Having moved to Australia, you hadn’t seen him in nearly three years. It was nice to finally catch up. He wanted to meet your boyfriend, who was running a little late.
“You wouldn’t believe me.”
Felix chuckled, “Really? I met my girl in an online game, Y/N. I’m pretty sure I will believe you.”
You rolled your eyes, unable to control the smile that formed on your face as you recalled the love story between Felix and his girlfriend. A very modern one.
“So, what happened?” He asked.
You straightened yourself out, shrugging your shoulders,
“I fell on him.”
Felix raised his brow, throwing you a confused look, “You mean ‘for’ him..? Like love at first sight? That’s so sweet, Y/N.”
“Nope. I mean I literally fell ON him. I broke his ribs.”
You corrected him, watching his eyes widen before he shook his head, sighing in disappointment, “Only you, Y/N. Only you.”
You laughed, remembering the fact that you, too, had said the same thing to yourself when you were up in the tree.
“How long did it take you to fall for him, though?” Felix asked.
The bells to the cafe chimed, catching your attention. You looked up to see the victim to your clumsiness two years ago. He scanned the place in search for you, smiling brightly when your eyes met his.
You smiled back, feeling the same fluttery feeling whenever you saw him. You replayed your first meeting and your time at the hospital. How you guys talked endlessly while waiting for his x-ray scans. How you first held his hand because he was terrified of needles. How you easily deciphered that he was a genuinely nice and sweet person. That was all it took for you to really fall in love with jeongin. With the smile he formed still on your face, you turned to Felix, answering his question.
Minho’s the cute barista who writes encouraging notes on a coffee addicts cup, who knew a relationship could brew between the two?
Warning : really fluff and really cringy worthy pick up lines ahead (I’m sorry)
“No, Y/N.. No more.”
Minho argued, pushing your pink plastic Starbucks cup back towards you. He was refusing to give you coffee despite you offering to pay twice the actual price. And you were in desperate need of caffeine in your body.
“Minho, it’s finals week. I need your coffee to stay awake.”
You said, making sure to flash him the best set of puppy dog eyes you could give him in hopes that he would give in to you. He sighed, flashing you a smirk,
“Nice try, Y/N. But I’m not going to be responsible for your death by caffeine overdose.”
“I didn’t even drink that much!”
You argued, flailing your arms around. It was nearly dusk and the cafe was almost empty with only a few of the other regulars still engrossed in their own work. Some of them have looked in your direction, chuckling softly at the argument that seemed to have become a routine for the two of you.
“Y/N! You’ve had six cups in less than five hours! I’m sure there’s enough caffeine in your body to keep you awake!” Minho exclaimed, disregarding the looks of the other customers in the cafe.
“But—“
“If I make you a drink, will you finally shut up?” Minho sighed, cutting you off before you came up with another excuse. He knew that he was powerless against you and your love for coffee. Saying you were addicted to coffee was an understatement. Coffee was your oxygen. Something you couldn’t live without,, especially when you had your finals right around the corner.
“I won’t bother you the rest of the day.” You smiled, bouncing on your toes in excitement as he took your cup from your hands, sighing in disbelief.
“Thank you, my favourite barista.”
“You’re welcome, my worst customer.”
You pouted your bottom lip out while he sent a cheeky wink towards your direction, turning to finally make your drink.
That was your relationship with Minho. Your first visit to the cafe was supposed to be temporary. Your then-usual cafe was closed for renovations, so you had no other choice but travel to the other side of the campus to get your daily dose of coffee. It turned out that Minho’s coffee was the greatest you’ve ever tasted. Without even knowing it, you found yourself travelling across campus simply for his coffee. Plus, the cafe always had good songs, was open 24 hours and had really cute baristas. Perfect for you to have a ‘productive’ day.
While you busied yourself with Biology back at your favourite window table, Minho placed your drink in front of you,
“This one will definitely wake you up.”
He flashed you his signature smile. The one where his eyes crinkled into little moons that sparkled. The one which made all the female customers fall for him. Including you. His smile was just so contagious that a smile had also formed on your face while you placed the tip of the straw in your mouth.
Just as fast as it appeared, your smile vanished as you face scrunched up from the unexpected sourness that hit your tongue. What happened to the comforting bitterness of your iced americano?
“Ugh—! Is this.... pure lemon juice?”
You pushed your cup away, despising whatever poison your barista had put in it.
“Freshly squeezed.” Minho replied, his handsome smile replaced with a smirk, “I told you it would wake you up.”
“How very thoughtful of you.”
It really did wake you up, though. Your tastebuds tingled from the sudden acidity and it felt like your brain became alert from the sudden shock. Despite his special drink doing the trick, you glared at Minho’s back as he returned behind the counter, preparing another ‘innocent’ drink for a customer who stared at him lovingly. You rolled your eyes after noticing her pull her dress up, revealing more of her thighs. And you rolled your eyes even more when Minho turned to give her her drink, a bright smile on his face.
What a flirt
Just as you continued to judge the two quietly, another barista had appeared behind the counter. You decided to seize the opportunity to finally get your coffee while Minho was busying himself with the girl who was definitely not good enough for him. But then again, who were you to judge who your barista should or shouldn’t date?
Keeping low, you approached the new barista. He was definitely new as you had never seen him before. His coffee couldn’t possibly be as good as Minho’s, but it was better than the terrible concoction Minho gave you.
“Hey, what can I get for you?” He asked cheerfully.
“Hi, Jeongin.” You greeted, taking note of his nametag, “Could I please get a large iced americano?”
“Su—- Um, sorry. If you don’t mind me asking.. Is your name Y/N, by any chance?”
You nodded, “Yes, it is. How did you know?”
Jeongin shrugged his shoulders, “Sorry, Y/N. Minho told me not to serve you any more coffee.”
Your jaw dropped in disbelief, a scoff leaving your lips. Minho slid beside Jeongin, hanging his arm around the boy’s shoulders with a smug look on his face,, as if to say ‘Haha, I won’
Your shoulders slumped in defeat, scrunching your nose before you turned your heels, accepting your fate... A coffee-less study session. A nightmare.
Having no coffee, you settled for a short nap on the cafe table to get your energy back up. When you finally woke up, you were not only surprised to see that it had become dark outside, but also surprised by the takeaway coffee cup on your table.
You picked it up, noticing the familiar handwriting written in black ink on the cup holder.
95% chocolate, 5% espresso
hang in there !! :-)
You smiled, scanning the near empty cafe for your favourite barista. His shift had probably ended because he was no longer behind the counter. You took a sip, enjoying the sweet and perfect taste of Minho’s perfect coffee-making skills. Truly a perfect barista.
The days that followed were nothing but torturous for you. Often, you woke up later than desired, leaving you little to no time to get your favourite coffee before you had to rush off for your exam. Minho took notice of this and he always had a takeaway cup of coffee ready for you to run off with.
He always wrote notes on them. Sometimes, it was the typical encouraging quotes that gave you a slight boost in confidence. Though, your favourite notes were the cheesy pick up lines he wrote on your cup, which gave you a little laugh to ease your stress just minutes before the exam.
Like the one he wrote on the day of your math exam,
I heard you’re good at algebra, can you replace my X without asking Y?
Or like the one he wrote on the day of your chemistry exam,
You look familiar, didn’t we take a class together? I could’ve sworn we had chemistry
Your favourite, though, was the one he wrote on the day of your last paper
I’d never play hide and seek with you because someone like you is impossible to find
“Finally! My worst customer is back!”
Minho exclaimed, a very cheerful smile spread across his face. You returned the smile as you walked towards him, internally smirking when you noticed the girl Minho had just served pout when he immediately diverted his attention to you. You’d been gone for only two days, taking the time after your exams to catch up on sleep and the latest season of Brooklyn 99 on Netflix. Of course, you couldn’t survive any longer without Minho’s coffee.
“It’s nice to see you too, Minho.”
Before you could order, he cut you off, bringing a finger up to stop you.
“No. Take a seat. I’ll make you a special drink,, on me.”
You narrowed your eyes on him. The last time you weren’t specific on the drink you wanted, Minho gladly gave you a nice, freshly squeezed lemon juice. He laughed. A sweet and kid-like laugh which gave a fluttery feeling to your stomach.
“No lemon. I promise.”
“Alright then. I trust you.”
You told him. He nodded and urged you to take your favourite seat. Having nothing to study, you chose to watch him at work, making sure that he was sticking to his promise and also because he looked really cute concentrating in making the latte art on your coffee perfect.
After a while, you went back to reading your book, failing to witness Minho’s nervous sweat and Jeongin’s constant motivation as the younger boy pushed him towards you.
A cup was slid in front of you and you excitedly took it, knowing there was something to read on the cup holder.
“Wait!” Minho exclaimed, preventing you from taking a glimpse of the note, “D-Don’t read it until after you’re finished.”
“Ooookayy...???” You questioned, raising your brow in confusion. Jeongin face palmed himself from behind the counter, clearly disappointed with Minho’s actions.
Minho nodded, pursing his lips nervously before he turned and ran back to his post.
You did as you were told, keeping your eyes off the scribbles on your cup as much as you could. You wanted to finish the drink as fast as you could, but you were prevented by the hot steaming liquid in the cup.
You waited for the liquid to cool down. Once it did, you resisted the urge to drink it all in one gulp, knowing that your very cute and favourite barista still had his eyes on you. You painfully drank it slowly. You felt your heart beat faster when you swallowed the long awaited last sip.
You turned the cup, finally seeing his handwriting vandalising the cup. You couldn’t help but chuckle when you read it.
I like you a latte, but I can’t seem to espress(o) it :-(
Pick a date?
Coffee , Tea , or Me?
You grabbed a pen from your bag, scribbling your response without hesitation.
When you exited the cafe, both Minho and Jeongin bulldozed their way to your empty table seconds before Felix had thrown your cup away.
“What did she say?” Minho asked with his palms covering his eyes, too afraid to discover your response.
“Well, you were right. She chose coffee.”
With a sigh, Minho fell back on the seat your previously sat in. “I knew it. All of it was just too good to be true.”
“Minho..”
“I mean, look at her! Clearly, she’s way out of my league.”
“MINHO!” Jeongin yelled, physically slapping Minho back to reality, “Will you just take a look yourself?”
Hesitantly, Minho took your cup from Jeongin’s grasp. He examined your reply.
Your blue ink clearly circled around coffee several times. And more of your writing just below Minho’s.
95% Coffee. 5% You.
I can’t give up coffee, but I would love to go on a date with my favourite barista <3

Chapter 6 ~ “Run Run Run Run..”
prev // next
To say I was disgusted was an understatement. His voice echoed in my head, repeating it more than necessary and making my stomach turn into a nervous knot. He spoke to me as if he knew me, the familiarity in his eyes easily noticeable. But I didn’t know who he was. If I had met him in the past I would’ve easily recognised him simply because his face was just too hard to forget.
We carried on with our hunt once the three uninvited guests were out of our sight. Levi and I entered one of the smaller stores, separated from the rest as they explored another store nearby.
“What was that about?” He asked me, looking through a cabinet of medications. The pharmacy store we were in was surprisingly stocked with a decent amount of medical supplies,, including antibiotics and ibuprofen which tend to come in handy.
I shrugged my shoulders as he passed me a box of pills. Stuffing it into my bag, I replied, “I don’t know. I’ve never met him before.”
I’ve only heard stories about the Right Arm from one of my previous camps,, the one who threw me to a hoard of walkers. Horrifying stories that emphasised how inhumane and evil they were. Despite having the number advantage earlier on, I still felt intimidated by the smaller group.
Levi opened his jaw to say something, only for him to shut it when Minho’s shouts from outside startled us.
We raised our brows, confused as to what the commotion was about. Minho was out on the pavement, both his hands in his hair as he glared at the end of the street,, fuming in anger.
I stepped out of the store, following his gaze. He was staring at our army van driving off. All five of us were here, there was no one who could’ve possibly taken it.
“The assholes stole our fucking ride!” Minho cursed, ruffling his hair in frustration.
While Minho explained to the others, my focus remained on the army van which had made a U-turn at the end of the road, driving back in the direction towards us. The thieves were coming back for us...?
All my hope was thrown out of the window when my eyes landed on the same man in the passenger seat. His lips curled into a smirk as his eyes playfully narrowed on me. Everything seemed to happen in slow motion as they drove past us, the sound of the cars motor roaring in my ears. Hawkeye gave me a wave, bidding me goodbye as a rifle peeked out from the back window of a car.
“Get down!”
Before I could react to the repeating cracks of the gun being fired, I was knocked off of my feet and sent crashing into the shelves behind me. I cursed, feeling an ache spread on my lower back as I tried to catch my breath. When I opened my eyes, I met Hyunjin’s brown ones and he immediately dragged me behind the counter, barely avoiding a bullet to my leg.
Shot were being rained upon us, shattering the glass windows of the shop which sent glass shards dropping on us. Hyunjin buried me into his chest, shielding me from the flying shards as I covered my ears, hoping the block the immense volume of the gun shots.
It lasted for a long minute before the sounds of shots were finally silenced. Hyunjin pulled away, sending a short look towards my direction before he jumped out of our hiding. He sprinted back onto the road, holding his gun out as he prepared to shoot. But the army van had already gone too far, leaving us in a shaken and panicked state.
Hyunjin groaned in frustration, watching as the van drove away. Once I had calmed down enough, I straightened myself out, checking on everyone.
“Is everyone okay?” I asked, sighing in relief when I saw Han and Minho emerge from the back of a run down truck with a thumbs up.
“Well, that was fun.” Levi remarked, coming up from behind me. His face had a few, small cuts,, probably from the flying glass shards.
“Hyunjin, you’re bleeding.” Han pointed towards Hyunjin’s side, just below his rib cage, revealing a torn part of his shirt and the patch of red that seeped through it.
“It’s nothing. The bullet just skimmed it.” Hyun Jin replies, shrugging his shoulders nonchalantly,
“Their aim was just as bad as Era’s reflexes.”
I bit my lower lip, giving him an apologetic and worried look. He got hurt pushing me out of the way because I was stuck in a trance, unable to react quick enough. But of course, Hyunjin wouldn’t be Hyunjin if he didn’t respond with his classic eye roll.
The multiplied groans of walkers filled our ears, snapping us out of our little conversation. Sounds attracted walkers out of their hiding no matter what time of the day it was. And the gun shots that were fired just minutes before were surely and effectively very loud. If their shots didn’t kill us, then the large hoard of walkers would.
“Run Run Run Run..” Han repeated as our legs took off into a sprint. The walkers snarled, following immediately judging by the thundering footsteps behind us.
Han grabbed my hand, forcing me to match my pace (nananananana na na na nana) with his much faster one and we slipped past the gates into an alley just before Hyunjin and Minho slammed it shut.
The cyclone gates rattled as the walkers rammed against it, slipping their arms through the small holes and clawing at Minho, Han and Hyunjin who tried their best to keep it shut. It wasn’t long until five walkers accumulated into many more, causing the three guys at the gate to struggle holding them back.
The walkers at the gate weren’t our only problem as more appeared from the corner of the alley we were in.
I dodged one with the help of Minho’s warning, driving my dagger through it without any hesitation. Levi did the same, shooting any of the walkers that ran towards us.
The guys were straining to keep the gate closed, their shoes dragging along the rough cemented floor. The walkers managed to create a small opening in between the gates, one of their heads popping through and snapping towards Hyunjin.
I raised my gun, panicked. I hadn’t shot a gun in months and Hyunjin’s head was just too close along my aim for my comfort. The walker managed to squeeze half of its body through, flailing its arms around.
Just as it managed to grab Hyunjin’s arm, I pulled the trigger unknowingly, only realising that I had finally taken a shot when I felt my arms buzzing from the recoil. It went directly through its head, causing the walker to go limp and allowing the three to close the gap.
“You guys have to go! We’ll hold them back for as long as we can!” Hyunjin yelled amidst the chaotic moans and screeches of the walkers.
My eyes widened, “Are you crazy? Hell no! That’s insane!” I exclaimed back, shooting another shot just beside Minho’s face as a walker’s teeth came into view.
“Now’s not the time to be nice, Era! Clear the way for us and fucking go! We’ll be right behind you!”
My jaw dropped, finding his idea unbelievable. We had a better chance fighting the walkers as five than three. My eyes met with Han’s and I was reminded of his promise. How they’ll protect me. How they’ll put their lives before others. This was what he meant, and I was just not used to it. Han broke our eye contact as he turned to Levi, “Take her with you. We’ll follow after.”
Levi nodded, grabbing my arm as he began pulling me with him. I stared at the three guys apologetically, shooting one last shot at the gate before Levi and I took off running deeper into the alley.
We did as we were told, shooting any walker that came along our way to make sure that the guys we left behind would have a clear path to run into. Once they let go of the gates, they would have no time to deal with other walkers in their path because they had a whole lot of other hungry corpses running after them.
I didn’t look back, making sure I didn’t lose sight of Levi and also because I didn’t want to see a deserted alley without the three we had just left behind for our own sakes.
Like I said, this world made you selfish.
So unbelievably selfish.
Just as we thought we cleared the path enough, Levi turned at a corner, immediately sliding into a stop with the sound of his shoes dragging onto the floor.

Felix “Just think about how this would be a nice story to tell our kids.. I am your soulmate after all.”
Who would’ve guessed that Y/N’s online gamer friend was her bias from stray kids?
5.37 PM
mydayqueen has connected
“Hey, Queen. Sorry, I gotta go now. You still coming on tonight?”
Your online friend, dabdude00, told you through the in game voice chat. A frown formed on your face. He was leaving you halfway through a match and you knew you were going to have to carry the team in a duos match. You could ask your other friends to play with you, but no one was as good (or as fun) as dab.
“I’m not really sure. I still have that test to study for. But I’ll try.”
You heard him snort from the other line, “You say that as you continue to wreck these noobs.”
“Someone has to show them how it’s done.” You replied, shrugging your shoulders proudly as you take note of your kill count. 10
It was fun to show off your skills to boys who expected you to be bad at the game. Many of the random teammates you met in the game were toxic and rude, not appreciating the fact that they were teamed with a girl. But then, once you’ve shown off, they’d suddenly fawn over you, mesmerised by your skills and the Victory Royale that appeared on their screens.
“Anyways, I’ll see ya soon.”
dabdude00 has disconnected
Dab was an exception. He wasn’t toxic like all the other guys you had encountered. He was nice since the first time the two of you met (online of course) and was even willing to teach you better skills. In three months, he had become your designated teammate. An online friend you told your stories and ranted to. He always listened, even throwing some sarcastic remarks from time to time to tease you because that’s how close you two have become.
Sometimes, you forgot that he was a complete stranger,, a stranger whose face and name you don’t even know. It would be nice to actually meet Dab in person. To see how he looks like. To witness how he was like in real life. But you could only imagine such events, knowing that your family and friends would kill you if you ever tried to meet up with someone you met online.
10.07 PM
After nearly three hours of studying for your upcoming test, your door bust open, revealing your very frantic and very excited bestfriend.
“Geez!” You exclaimed, unintentionally bringing your hand up to your chest in shock, “Ever heard of knocking, Jen?”
“I’m sorry! But look!” Jen jumped, waving two pieces of paper in the air. You rolled your eyes, laughing at your friend’s actions. Just as you were about to give her another remark, your eyes widened in realisation.
No way.
“YoU gOT ThEm?!!!”
“Nu-Uh. WE got them! We’re finally going to see them!” She yelled excitedly, pulling you up from you seat as the two of you began squealing together.
Once Jen had left your room, you quickly ran to your computer, no longer in the mood to study.
“Yo yo Dab!!” You exclaimed, immediately hearing him laugh from the other side of the screen as you barely even got your headphones around your head.
“Someone sounds excited. What happened to studying?”
“Studying? I’ve never heard of it! Guess who’s going to see her soulmate?” You couldn’t help but jump in your seat, still not over the fact that your bestfriend had managed to buy tickets for the both of you.
He chuckled, “Hmm. I guess you’re finally going to see Jae from Day6 huh?”
“No, silly! He’s my ultimate bias. This one’s different.” You argued.
“Why am I not surprised?” He teased. Funnily enough, you could imagine his actions towards you, despite not knowing how he actually looked like. He’d shake his head, smiling as he brings his hands up to his temple.
“So, who’s this lucky guy then?”
You smiled, looking up to the posters pasted on the wall right above your computer. A fluttery feeling spread in your stomach, spreading to your chest as you began to get excited once again.
“Felix from Stray Kids.”
10.48 PM
“I’m S T R E S S E D !!”
A week had gone by so quickly that you were panicking because you still had no idea what to wear the night before your fan-meet with Stray Kids. You had tried to call Jen for help, but she only stressed you out even more. She had everything planned out and organised, while you, on the other hand, were frantic and disorganised. Somehow, you were now getting help from the person who couldn’t possibly give it to you.
“Calm down, Queen. I-Felix would find anything you wear pretty.” Dab said, attempting to calm you down.
It turned out the Dab was somewhat familiar with Stray Kids. He claimed to have heard their music a few times and actually liked it. He even knew who Felix was, judging from his sudden choking when you told him who your soulmate was.
“That’s not the point, Dab! Come on, help me out.” You whined. You were stretching to reach for your clothes in your cabinet, not wanting your earphones to disconnect.
“Just wear something unique. Didn’t you say you have a panda beanie lying around?” He asked, and you nodded even though he couldn’t actually see you.
“Yeah. But that’ll make me look dumb.”
“No, it won’t. He’ll notice you when you wear that.” He replied rather convincingly. He sounded so confident and strong. We’re guys always this sure of themselves?
You stared at the panda beanie he was speaking of, frowning as you hesitated, “Are you sure?”
“Trust me, Queen. He’ll notice you.”
3.19 PM ~ the day of the fan meeting
You held their album close to your chest, trying to calm your breaths as you made your way towards the first member, following after Jen. Nearly all the members complimented your panda beanie, but you were too busy blushing to notice the cheeky smirks they were sending towards your ‘soulmate’.
He was the last one in the line of members. Your ears felt like they had been blocked by your own heartbeats and a lump had formed at the back of your throat. You were so nervous you weren’t even sure you could say a word. You watched as he bid Jen goodbye with a smile before he turned to you.
His eyes met yours, widening momentarily before he replaced them with the cutest eye smile.
“I like your panda beanie.” He complimented, taking the album from you. “I’m Felix, what’s your name?”
“I know.” You stuttered, making you want to melt into the floor.
“What?” He asked, leaning forward to hear you better amidst the loud squeals of the fans.
“I-I mean, I know you’re Felix. I’m Y/N.” You finally managed to mutter out.
“It’s nice to finally meet you, Y/N.” He replied with a smile wider than his last one.
“You too. You look so much better in real life, with your freckles and all that.”
God. What was wrong with you? For some reason, everything that came out of your mouth was just purely embarrassing.
He chuckled, and shivers went up your spine. It sounded way too familiar. Before you could ponder over it, you fell in love once again as he began to rub the small amount of foundation on his cheeks, allowing you to get a better look on his freckles.
“So, which one of us is your soulmate?”
You snorted, feeling your cheeks heat from embarrassment. Saying that he was your soulmate in front of him felt way too cringy for your own good. “It’s supposed to be you. But after seeing JeongIn, I think my mind’s changed.”
His jaw dropped and he scrunched his nose, pretending to be offended, “He must be one lucky guy then.”
“Truly.” You replied, laughing. Their manager gave you a signal, indicating that it was time for you to move on. You nodded, smiling as you took the album from him. He almost looked disappointed. But you were convinced it was just you being delusional.
“It was nice meeting you, mydayqueen.”
“You too, dabdu—- wait, what?!”
Your jaw dropped and your eyes widened. There was NO WAY Felix had just called you your gamer tag. How did he know what it was? He stared at your expression, laughing with his head tilted back. The same action you always imagined Dab to be doing. The manager had called you once again, guiding you gently off the stage. Felix kept his gaze on you, the same cheeky smile on his face before he turned to the next girl, leaving you with the same confused and dumb stricken look on your face.
There was NO WAY Felix was dabdude00,,,, right?
12.03 AM
dabdude00 has sent you a party invite
You stared at your computer screen, biting the sides of your nails nervously. You were still completely taken aback by the day’s events. Felix was dabdude00. dabdude00 was Felix. You felt dumb and embarrassed. You always loved Felix’s deep and unique voice, yet, you’ve spoken to Felix the past three months and you never even recognised that it was him.
You groaned, rubbing your palms down your face as you recalled the fan meeting. He was giving you so many clues. ‘Soulmate’ and ‘Lucky Guy’. Those were words Dab used when the two of you spoke.
dabdude00 has sent you a party invite
You could barely even think about him without dying from embarrassment. How were you going to talk to him and pretend everything was normal?
dabdude00 has sent you a message
dabdude00 : Hey, you okay? Idk if you’re busy but it says you’re online..?
dabdude00 : Are you angry about today?
dabdude00 : If you are, I’m really sorry. I really didn’t mean to make you upset.
His response itself proved that dabdude00 was in fact Felix of Stray Kids. You sighed, confusing yourself even more. Any Stay would dream of this. Yet, you were ignoring his invites and messages because you were too busy being dramatic.
You threw your headphones on, finally mustering the courage to join his voice chat.
“Hey, Dab. Or Felix. Which one do you prefer?” You asked. Your voice sounded colder than you had expected.
“You sound upset. I’m sorry. I really didn’t mean to make you upset.” His voice was soft and small.
“N-No. I’m not. Just shocked and embarrassed.” You replied, trying to ease the tension that somehow managed to form through your headphones.
“Embarrassed? Why?” He asked, making you let out a cry,
“Because I literally called Felix my ‘soulmate’ in front of Felix! And I FANGIRLED to Felix about Felix and all that stuff! Why would you let me do that?” You exclaimed, feeling your cheeks heat up once again.
He laughed, “If it makes you feel better, I really liked it.”
“Sure, you did. Ugh! I’m so embarrassed, Felix! I literally hate you right now.”
You could hear him smirk from the other side, making you roll your eyes, “Really? If I remember correctly, this past week you’ve been bragging to me about how much you loved.. me.”
“—Shut up before I take your posters down.”
“Aww. You have posters of me?” He teased.
“Felix, I swear to god.”
He laughed once again, and this time you confidently imagined how he looked like. It sent the butterflies flying in your stomach and your head spun with joy.
“Calm down, Y/N.” He said,
“Just think about how this would be a nice story to tell our kids.. I am your soulmate after all.”
And you couldn’t believe you were letting them do this. Somehow, your two friends had managed to convince you to join the long line of sweaty and excited strangers queueing up for the fastest and tallest ride in the whole amusement park.
You watched the ride twist and turn in an incredibly fast speed, making your stomach curl. You didn’t mind the smaller rollercoasters they had forced you on. But this one was just completely insane. You begged them once more to let you back out, saying that you couldn’t do it. But they insisted,
“Come on, Y/N. Riding those small roller coasters isn’t worth your money.” Your friend told you.
You sighed and you couldn’t help but think that money isn’t worth dying for either. As you were wallowing in worry and fear, a voice snapped you out of your thoughts.
“It’s not that bad.” He said.
You snapped your head towards him, a guy who was behind you in the line. You looked around, thinking he was speaking to his big group of friends before you realised that he was actually directing his words at you.
“I-I’m sorry?”
He gave you a dimpled smile, nodding up to the rollercoaster which you feared the most, “The ride. It’s not that scary.”
You almost scoffed, shaking your head in disbelief as you stared back up towards the ride. Everything in that ride was scary. “Nu-Uh. Have you seen that drop? It’s literally perpendicular to the ground.”
He chuckled, “Yeah. That means it’s only scary for like three seconds. You’ll see.”
The worker called you forward, causing you to curse as you hadn’t realised you reached the front of the line. She looked at you impatiently, not liking the fact that you were holding back the long line behind you. Your friends had already taken the two front seats, leaving you to sit alone with a stranger since the ride was for pairs.
You bit your lip, nervously pulling the restraints over your head as tightly as you could. The same guy you had spoken to earlier took the seat beside yours, mimicking your actions.
“Guess we’re the odd ones out.” He told you, trying to ease your obvious anxiety.
“I really really don’t like this. God, why am I doing this?” You mumbled, grasping tightly onto the handles.
You felt a warm touch on your shoulder as he gave you a reassuring smile, “It’s really not that bad. Just count to three and the scary part would be over. Trust me.”
The workers began checking on everyone’s seatbelts, making sure they were properly attached. You groaned, knowing that the only way out of the ride was to finish it. You glanced at the boy beside you, who still attempted to calm you down. You felt guilty, knowing his efforts were going into waste because you were just that of a scaredy cat.
When the worker reached the last seat at the back, you turned to him, panicking. “C-can I...?” Your voice trailed off, leaving your eyes to land on his hand that was placed on your shoulder.
He smiled, nodding as he placed his palm out in front of yours. You took it, interlocking your fingers tightly with his and bringing it close to your chest. The ride started to move before it accelerated to a great speed and you tightened your grip on both his hand and handle, shutting your eyes closed when you realised you reached the top.
Your stomach felt like it had been flipped as the pressure of the drop hit your lungs, preventing you from screaming. You held your breath,
Just count to three
One...
Two..
Three..
You were lifted back up, allowing air to enter your lungs once again. The cool breeze hit your skin and you opened your eyes to witness the birds eye view of the amusement park. Your interlocked hand was raised up in the air as the boy beside you cheered with joy. You laughed, finding yourself doing the same thing soon after.
He was right. The scary drop was insignificant compared to the rest of the ride,, which was more fun than you could imagine. You felt free. Like you were flying. And that was what you would remember of the ride, how free you felt riding it.
“See? It wasn’t that bad now, was it?” He asked just as the ride slowed down to a stop.
You nodded, smiling as adrenaline pumped through your veins. Your heart was beating fast.. in a good way. “It was only bad for three seconds, like you said.”
He shrugged his shoulders, a proud smirk on his face, making you laugh.
The restraints were raised, allowing you to finally feel the comfort of the ground as you hopped off your seat.
“I’m really sorry for holding your hand.”
“Don’t worry about it, it was pretty nice while it lasted.” He replied, sending a wink in your direction.
You nodded with a giggle, giving him one last smile before running off to meet your friends, “It was nice meeting you, seat buddy!”
After dealing with your friends’ ‘I told you so’s, you were hyped to go for another ride. You were still scared, of course. But you learned a new tactic. Just count to three, and the fun’ll begin.
Like last time, you were the odd one out. Your jaw nearly dropped when you noticed the same boy in the seat beside yours. He glanced up towards you, the same dimpled smile forming on his face as he gave you a wave, “Oh! It’s my seat buddy!”
You laughed, running to take the seat beside him, “Is this fate or fate, seat buddy?”
“I’d say it’s fate. I didn’t get your name back then.”
“I’m Y/N.” You replied, settling in your seat as you tightly fastened the seatbelt.
“Nice to meet you, Y/N. I’m Chan.”
He placed his palm in front of you, repeating the past events. You glanced up at him as he wiggled his eyebrows, making you giggle when you interlocked your fingers with his.
“Don’t be scared, Chan.” You teased, “Just count to three. Trust me.”
“What other choice do I have?” He asked.
“Nothing. There’s no backing out now. You’re stuck with me.”

If it seems like I got a bit carried away, it’s because I DID get carried away (IM SORRY THEYRE BOTH MY BIAS/BIASWRECKER, I couldn’t help myself)
Hyunjin
ok so hyunjin would be P O P U L A R ,, no doubt
good looks + talented dancer,, everyone obviously fell for him the minute he stepped foot into school
everyone except for you,, ofcourse
you assumed him to be arrogant and narcissistic
because him having a nice personality would just be too good to be true (like come on,, no guy can be that perfect)
you were so sure you were right about him
WRONG
it took you a hit in the face to realise that,, LITERALLY a Volleyball to your face thrown by Hwang Hyun Jin himself
it was just a volleyball game between his class and yours,,
and you were simply judging your female classmates as they were squealing over Hyunjin who was right across the net
then suddenly a ball whacks your face
and you somehow wake up in the nurse’s office with a very handsome and very frantic guy beside you, grasping onto your hand
“Oh my— thank god! You’re not dead! I’m really sorry,, I really didn’t mean to hit you. I swear! I just— I didn’t even— I’m so sorry!”
His rambles went on and on, which DIDNT help with the throbbing pain in your head, so you shut him up, “Hyunjin, it’s okay. Now will you please just keep it down? I’m okay.”
that didn’t make him feel better, so he offered to drive you home, glancing at you from time to time, making sure you were okay
shyly smiling when you called him out
when you parted ways, you thought that that was the last time you’d ever have to speak to him
surprising you when you found him to be waiting for you right outside your class, leaning against the wall beside the door
he’d ask you if you were okay and apologise for the millionth time
it was kinda cute because he was an absolute softie and sweetheart,, nowhere near the selfish monster you assumed him to be
“How many times do I have to tell you it’s okay?”
“I don’t know. I still feel bad.”
and somehow these types of conversations diverged into many more as he walked you to your next class
and these conversations continued in the days that followed as he constantly appeared to ‘pick you up’ from class, making sure to help you carry your books if you were carrying any in your hands
And like , TADAH, like all the other girls, you had fallen for the one and only Hwang Hyun Jin… OOOOOPPS
you thought he acted this way with every girl, but like,,, he was crushing on you real hard sis and you never noticed
he’ll confess first out of frustration because you never took the hint,, even when he was making it VERYYY obvious
as a boyfriend, he’ll be the kind to pick you up every morning, honking from his car with his signature eye smile
he’ll have some kind of breakfast ready for you, knowing that you were NOT a morning person (worse than him tbh)
he’ll interlock his fingers with yours or have his arm slung around your shoulders as the two of you walk down the hallways
occasionally kissing the back of your hand/ temple when he feels you tense up from the jealous looks of the girls around you two
which is why during lunch breaks, the two of you choose to hang out on the rooftop where no one’s focused on you two
he’d listen to you talk about your day, smiling lovingly at you with his handsome face
sometimes, you’d get distracted and completely forget which part of your story you were in
because how can one function when someone looks at you like how Hyunjin does
“And then Changbin —….” your voice would trail off, falling for his eyes as he gave you an expectant look, waiting for you to continue
“Wait, where was I again?”
He’d laugh and his eyes would crinkle into little moons (you know how it is)
then he’d give you a short kiss, before helping you out “You were talking about Changbin.”
“Oh. Right!”
you’ll be the first he shows his new dance routines to
you two take LOTS of selfies together #reallycuteIGprofilewithreallycutephotosofyoutwo
he’ll be the kind of boyfriend who gets pouty when you don’t give him enough attention during your study dates,,
would start clinging onto you/playing with your hair/ hugging you from the back/ being all cuddly and cute until you finally give him attention
surprise back hugs when he sees you by your locker in between classes
all in all, he’s a very sweet and cuddly and touchy boyfriend
Jisung
let’s just say you and jisung were already bestfriends with very fun and loud personalities,, aka crackheads
so obviously you two were setting up a kind-of-harmless prank to pull on Felix involving a water bucket and a door
how were you supposed to know that your teacher had forgotten his water bottle in class?
so,, major oops when your little prank resulted in an extremely drenched, raging teacher who sent the both of you to detention
you had to clean and arrange your school’s library,, which you got bored of within the first 15 minutes, choosing to throw yourself into one of the bean bags Jisung was on
“so, now that Jinyoung has graduated, have you found a new guy to crush on yet?”
you rolled your eyes, throwing a pillow at his face because you were NOT gonna have this conversation with him AGAIN
one, because it was annoying and two, because you didn’t want to risk him finding out that HE was actually your crush
you went back to rearranging books, telling him that you wanted to finish the task fast and get home,, so he FINALLY helped you manage the other side of your bookshelf
not long after, you noticed him talking to ryujin
obv you eavesdropped on their conversation through the little gaps in the bookshelves (though you barely heard anything)
you rolled your eyes,, its hard to like Han Ji Sung
because the boy is so sweet and nice and friendly to everyone
it just makes you crazy because there was a tiny part of you that wanted him to be sweet and caring ONLY to you.
your little spy mission was interrupted by Minho, a friend from dance, who started a conversation with you
little did you know, it was now jisung’s turn to eavesdrop
“What were you guys talking about?” Jisung asks through the gap of the bookshelf, following you as you went along the aisle
“And why does it concern you?” You ask back.
“Because I’m your bestfriend.”
“Okay then. Tell me what you and Ryujin were talking about first, since I’m your bestfriend too.
“Ryujin and Minho are completely different. Tell me yours first.”
you scoffed, offended by his words, “You’re being unreasonable! Why are you acting like you’re twelve? Are you like jealous or something, Han Jisung?”
he got cut off by the librarian, shutting the two of you up
by the time you reached the end of the aisle, he was there too, allowing the two of you to directly glare at each other face to face
you crossed your arms, staring at the stack of books behind him and avoiding his glare
“Fine, I admit. I’m jealous.” He confesses, “Are you?”
Your eyes widened, your arms fell down to your sides as you slowly nodded, “Me too.”
Is jisung’s part too long? Yes. Am I gonna keep writing? YES.
so, I guess you can say that’s how the two of you indirectly confessed to each other
you guys have a really nice and envy-worthy relationship because your boyfriend’s your bestfriend after all
you’ll have LOTS of FUN,, having after school dates at a fair, karaoke club
you guys have the same group of friends, and the two of you would sit in the same table during your breaks
sometimes, you’d sit on his lap and his arms would just be around your waist, cuddling you with his chin rested on your shoulder
whining for you to feed him a bite of your food,, which you teased him about but absolutely loved
concerts in empty lecture theatres you sneak into,
he’d have the mic, you’ll be sitting in one of the chairs pretending to be an obedient student
he starts rapping or starts advertising a random vitamin bottle he found on the floor
your stomach would hurt so much laughing,, just WHOLESOME
study dates with him would probably turn into a party as you guys start screaming your lungs out to Frozen
sometimes, when he’s having anxiety, you’ll skip school to stay home with him, making sure he was okay and well fed.
