The 12 Greek Gods and Goddesses have always interested me how in Greek culture they made up these names and gave them powers which are real things in the world. For example Zeus the God of lighting, Poseidon the God of the seas, Demetra the Goddess of agriculture. I do not believe in them but the concept of how each of them came to be interests me I don’t know too much about the Greek Gods and Goddesses and their children but whenever they are mentioned in movies or in life I make sure to pay extra attention. I also learned not all of them are white to which was certainly eye-opening to discover. 

Final Project

I watched this movie with my mother and loved every second of it. These three actresses, far left Janelle Monae, middle Taraji P. Henson, far right Octavia Spencer. In the movie that is based off of a true story actually is about 3 intelligent African American women who were chosen to work for NASA to help with the famous launch of John Glenn. It reminded me that as a black woman myself I can do great things no matter how limited my options may be. Photo is from a google search of the movie. 

Marilyn Monroe the icon herself said this quote that I agree with 100%. Everything certainly does happen for a reason it may not be a reason we always understand, but there was a reason for the good or bad events that happened to you that day. It sort of goes along with when one door closes another opens so if it’s not a reason you understand you could understand it later on in the future or  it may always remain a mystery to you while the universe only knows the answer. This quote helps me not to take no’s too harshly and to keep my mindset open at all times. Erin Hanson made this poem she is a young Australian poet. I absolutely relate to this poem because it’s very true a mirror only shows what’s on the outside and it can display someone’s insecurities and flaws. It gives people the impression all that matters is looks in society so as long as you look good on the outside people will be drawn to you. While some parts of that may be true simply of the society we live in where looks can matter on whether you’re liked or not, what’s inside should be where you find your worth, what’s inside should be what needs to be either fixed or changed, what’s inside is what gets those that aren’t only out for looks to stay. I think people forget looks can be deceiving and people show you only what they want you to see as well as everyone gets old so the first thing to go in that process is how you look so it’s important not to base your whole life off of trying to look perfect all the time. This is “Diva” from Beyoncé and happens to be one of the many songs that I can get hype to. Beyoncé is also an inspiration to me I hope to be as successful and humble also she is very behind the scenes about things and her dedication to her craft is unmatched and it certainly shows through her projects and concerts. Ariana Grande really needs no introduction she has done so much at only 27 broken so many records and changed so many lives let’s use me for example. She is a woman I only hope I can become someday she is everything to me simply because she is a humble, kind soul who deserves nothing but the best this world has to offer. She supports BLM, LGBTQ+, promotes an organization that helps to adopt puppies and kittens, but most importantly she is a singer with loads of talent. She truly has the biggest heart I have ever seen and definitely gives more than she gets back I do get worried that she doesn’t check on herself sometimes though. I appreciate that she has not let fame change her in any way and is always real with her fans and cares about each of us. I am proud to say that I am a day one fan and will continue to support her through her journey every album she makes is better than the next and I am convinced she has no clue how to make a bad song. 

I can only imagine how difficult astrophotography must be but David Malin makes it look easy. Malin has been in the photography game since the 1960s he uses optical and electron microscopes with X-ray diffraction techniques to make his photos and has a strong interest with light and color. I chose him because I love learning and looking at astronomy it’s always an adventure exploring the unknown and space is a never ending challenge since it stretches for miles and miles and was here before humans were. Plus it’s cool to look at the stars and planets along with the other phenomenon's that go on in space while we aren’t looking. Some of Antonio Busiello’s work is meant to show the connection of humans to the natural world we walk on everyday. His photography has allowed him the opportunity to travel around the world from the Galapagos Islands to Africa to California and etc. He was hired a job by the World Wildlife Fund his photographs recognized by BBC Photography, he has won prizes for his photo projects and essays. I am glad there are still people that care about the Earth and he shows it’s animals in such a beautiful way I did also notice he mainly focuses on marine life especially.
