Way I see it, we got a lot to celebrate.

This blog is getting ready to turn three years old in just a couple of weeks! In that three years, I’ve met a lot of Appalachian artists, musicians, creators, writers, advocates, and friends. 5000+ followers of them, as of this month! AND, the blog isn’t the only one with a birthday. I just hit my 25th birthday last week, and if that’s not a reason to celebrate, what is? No one should have to rely solely on law enforcement and gun free zones for protection, especially when law enforcement is just as likely to brutalize as to protect and gun free zones are just as likely to create targets as to create safe spaces.

The police are not “just as likely to brutalize” as everyone else.

In fact, they’re they’re more likely to assault you than the general population, and nearly two-and-a-half times as likely to sexually assault you.
