Maria was cursing him in her head as he chuckled and told her not to be mad. Of course he didn’t want her to be mad, she was mad at him and nor him or Alec liked it when she was upset with them. The brunette let out a sigh, she knew he wasn’t going to give up so she gave in to him instead. Being mad wasn’t going to get her anywhere, in fact she should just be glad that Jacks and Alec were okay, they could have died but they didn’t. And she should be celebrating that. Maria wrapped her arms around the back of his neck as she kissed him back passionately. She could feel his smirk around her lips and was tempted to give him hell for it, but decided against it. “You’re lucky I love you Jackson Deaks… if I didn’t I would be kicking your ass right now, instead of kissing you”, she said softly against his lips. 

The girl shot him a dirty look as he took her drink away from her. She had planned on getting really drunk and forgetting about this whole mess, and he was making that very difficult. “What are you doing?” she asked him as he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her closer to him. Maria rolled her eyes when he told her that their boyfriend wanted her to relax. When she was upset or angry the last thing she wanted to was have Alec tell her what she should be feeling. “I’m trying to be mad you two,” she said softly as his lips moved against her neck, “And you’re not making that very easy, Jacks”. Her eyes fell closed and she let out a soft sigh before leaning into him and letting her tense muscles relax.

He ignored all her previous questions and continued to pull her toward him, and do his thing. He chuckled against her neck, "Then don't be mad baby." He spoke against her skin, continuously kissing her and sucking on it gently. He noticed that she wasn't so hesitant and felt her body relax in his, it made him smile that he could do that to her. He moved his lips from her neck to her lips pressing them softly against hers. He smirked against her lips knowing that he and Alec were getting their way even though Alec wasn't with them. 

Her eyes fell closed as she kissed him back softly. “I know it, but that doesn’t mean I like it. How could I like anything that end up killing you same day? .. How? How are you going to get them back? And what happens if they just come back after us?” The brunette chewed on her lip as she thought about it all. It was all so frustrating. “I don’t trust it Jacks. Never have and never will. I’m sorry,” she said in almost a whisper before walking in the kitchen and opening the fridge to grab a beer. Maria popped the top off and downed about half the bottle before looking back over at him. 

Jackson sighed at his girlfriends statements, he chose to ignore her questions about how to get them back since he wasn't aware of it yet. He shook his head and sat on the back of the couch as she back back to him after downing the first half. "Maria.." He spoke grabbing the beer and putting it on the table. He wrapped his arms around her, "You need to relax. Our boyfriend wants you to relax. I know just the trick." He spoke the last part leaning his head down and kissing her neck. "C'mon baby... let's get you relaxed." 

When I look into your eyes I get this magic feeling

Maria frowned as he coped a bit of attitude with her. “Do you think Alec thought he was going to get shot? No. If he knew he was going to get shot he would have done things differently. I know you’re smart and that you’re careful but things happen.. and sometimes when you see someone you love hurt you ignore the stuff around you and aren’t as careful. We all do it, we’re only human..” Her eyes met his as he tilted her head up and forced her to look at him. “That doesn’t make me any less afraid, Jacks. What about next time? What if you guys aren’t that lucky the next time around?”

He looked at her and pressed his lips against hers gently, he pulled away and sighed. "Maria... there's nothing we can do.. you know this business. Most people who are smart wouldn't come close to pulling what those idiots did tonight. We're getting them back. No one hurts one of us and gets away with it right? That's how it works?" he spoke. He shrugged at her next words. "We can't think th way you're thinking right now. We have jobs to do, and... we can't let fear get in the way. We just have to trust that every job will be fine." 

Maria had be angry at Jackson since they had gotten home the day before. So mad that she hadn’t spoken to either of them all day. “Yes, I’m mad. What if you’d gone barreling in there and they were still there? Or if it was a set up to try and wipe the whole team out? Then you’d both be injured or dead right now. I don’t want to lose him either, Jacks… but I also can’t stand the thought of losing you both. That’d kill me, don’t you see that?” she asked him as she turned around to face him. “When you guys are out doing a drop off you only have to worry about each others well being… while I have to sit here powerless and worry about the both of you. I hate it.. I hate sitting her wondering if you’ll both make it home”.
