okay so its not hard finding him in the halls

he towers over everyone

the basketball coach is always trying to get him to join ?? but Sanha declines because he has guitar practice and school while going to dance lessons and he doesn't want to overload his schedule 

You run the school newspaper and the principle requested for you to do an article on a “exceptional student who shows all of the qualities of your school” 

things like ‘straight A’ ‘loyal’ ‘passionate’ ‘pride in their school’ ‘athletic’ ‘responsibility’  ‘integrity’ as if a single person like this existed in the universe let alone your school

like seriously 

you would have to be crazy to love school that much

you created the club and newspaper

so there isn't a lot of people

you take some of the pictures and write some articles too along with being the final editor

it’s hard work

there is this one really tall kid in your sixth period class 

he gets really good grades ? and does after school activities 

plus the basket ball coach talks with him so ?? maybe you should write it on him ??

don’t he’s the worst student

so after the 6th period bell rings you stop him in the hall

“hey you're in my 6th period and I need to take pictures for the school paper of someone who exemplifies the ‘schools traits’ or whatever, so I kinda chose you? Are you up for it ? I just need a couple of pictures and a small interview”

“I-i-i- Su- sure”

“Great! Thanks! Here is my number so we can schedule both things”

The ‘photoshoot’ was taking place at your house that Saturday and the interview was going to be after that

Sanha was extremely nervous

he didn't think he was anything special 

and you were extremely pretty

he did know how he was going to not stutter around you

SO Saturday came and he's looking at his closet like ,,, okay shirt and jeans,,, how can this be so hard,,,

when he finally got ready and at your house he was shaking ngl

them long legs turned into twizzlers 

you answer the door, Nikon in hand

all he can think of is “yiKES YIKES YIKES YIKES YIKES AHHHHHH YIKES”

It was a nice day out and its there is a nice flowery area in your backyard 

so before it gets to bright and your pictures look like crap you put a stool out there and asked him to play is guitar there

after he played a song you cheered and he's like “I thought i was here to take photos”

and ur like “we are, now whats your favorite song to play?”

and he answers and ur like “Play that” so he does not entirely understanding why but halfway through the song he gets comforable 

once he finishes he looks up to you doing something with your camera 

“sooooo,,, when are we taking the pictures?”

“I already did”

he had the most blank face,,, wh e n,,, is all that comes in his mind

a blank void with just the letters “W H  E N” floating around 

“I took them while you were playing. I want natural photos so I had you play a song you are most comfortable with that way I don't get awkward poses while you try to smile or whatever pose you choose. The pictures look better this way, wanna see ?”

he is so,,, shocked but also impressed 

looking at the photos he marvels at how good you are like ?? you have skill

the two of you then go to your room where it isn't so hot for the interview 

your room had a backdrop up with umbrellas out and your desk had your laptop on it along with a whole bunch of papers, there was a small cabinet that held all of the things for your other hobbies 

you went to get a water real quick for the both of you and he just admired your room while standing awkwardly

when you came back you got out a chair for him, some paper, and a small recording device and sat at your desk

it felt so professional despite being in your room lmao

he drank the whole glass of water in one go

now you were a bit worried for him lmao

this kid was really,,,,, that nervous 

so you asked some warm up questions

“Do you have any pets?”

“ye-yeah”

“A dog ? A cat? what kind of pet?”

“A fish”

“Whats his name?”

“Charles”

you weren't writing anything down yet because he seamed kind of nervous

“So um, Favorite movie ?”

“Really? Thats so cool. I have a shirt with all of them on it and I own the movie”

Conversation flowed and soon it had been an hour

“so how do you feel about the school?”

he had forgotten about the interview tbh

success #2 in making him feel comfortable enough to do the things with out any problems 

you ended getting a lot more than expected

instead of pictures and his answers to your questions

you got that and a new friend 

now you sit next to each other in 6th

and text all the time

quickly your feelings turned from friendship to romantic 

when the article was printed he actually got the school newspaper that month 

he never really payed attention to it before he met you

but now he asks about it all the time, he has a genuine interest in it

and he wants to know you better

how sweet

he comes over to your house sometimes and helps you write 

one day you left him alone for a bit while you went downstairs to get granola bars for the both of you

he grabbed a paper and quickly prepared himself for the crazy idea that came into his mind

when you came back and started writing again you asked for an idea 

he didn't think

thinking would have been his worst enemy right then

“You should write ‘I like you’”

Both of you hadn't even processed the fact that he said that for a while, you just sat in silence until it clicked

This was in my drafts forever and by forever I mean a week and a half

So you work at this cute little coffee shop where can I find me one to work at tbh

and you have one of the busiest shifts

basically first thing in the morning

when eVERYONE wants their coffee and they want it NOW

the stress was high ngl 

“hi yes I want 15 coffees in 5 minutes for a meeting I have thanks”

there is only two people on that shift too? 

the manager swears he is looking to hire someone to help you two out

but everyone knows he's sleeping lmao 

so its just you and another girl rushing to make 15 expressos in 5 minutes while taking 20 other orders 

its a rush but you love it

for now 

eventually school work started to pile up and the stress you felt all morning and then sitting in class for the rest of the afternoon left you d r a i n e d by night time

motivation to do the readings? home work? non existent

so you talked to the manager and he's like “well today is your lucky day! I just hired some one for the morning position so I could move you to the night position and move someone from the night position to the morning to take your place?”

he just gives you a thumbs up and goes back to watching youtube

no one really knows how on earth he manages to run this place but he's so laid back and chill that no one is complaining 

your stress level has been reduced soooooo much after this change

but

the night shift has like 0 customers save for the old grandpa who comes in every day and gets the same order, sits in the same spot at the same time

he once brought in a picture frame and sat it across from him

he said that today was his and his wife's 56th anniversary 

this is so sad and cute I'm crying

other than talking to this old man and doing homework there really isn't anything to do 

looking around there is this chalkboard

and you never noticed it but?? its there lol

and there is this really good drawing of a coffee cup on it

you wonder who drew it

the next day there was another really good drawing but it was of a cat this time??

the next day it was a dog??

then a mango and various fruits 

this kept on happening for a while

so you asked your old co worker from the morning shift if she knew who was drawing them 

and she was like “Hunty no one in the morning shift has time for that”

and you are the only one who has the night shift next to some other person but they do their homework and sleep so it’s not them

that only leaves the afternoon shift 

so you go to the manager and ask him 

“There is only two people who work the afternoon shift and I don't think I know either of their names because thats the time of my afternoon nap but one of them is always annoying me because he either spilled hot water on him self or broke something”

he sounds like a mess,,,,, ngl

so has got to be the other person

that Friday your professor sent an email and was like “I accidentally drove my car into a pool because there was a duck but good news I now have a pet duck to take care of so you are free for the day” 

at least you have two hours with nothing to do

might as well go to the café

its odd walking into your workplace as a customer and not an employee? ??

there is a few people there

so you walk up to the counter and order 

the guy who took your order was really tall and looked hella sleepy

tbh he looked like a model

“Hey this is going to sound weird...” you looked at his name tag, “Hyungwon, but I work the night shift and there are these drawings on the chalkboard that are really really good,,,, do you know who is drawing them?”

“Yeah, my coworker over there. His name is Minhyuk you should tell him that you like his drawings”

and he just hands you your order 

“Ah,,,thank you”

when did he even make it lmao

you swear you didn't see him move

he keeps a stash of popular orders under the counter 

so you sit down in a chair near this ‘Minhyuk’ and observe him drawing

he looked really concentrated and you didn't want to disturb him 

so you were drinking your coffee and it was a little,,,,,, cold

but it still tasted really good 

Minhyuk was drawing a really pretty beach land scape

it matched his sky blue hair 

when you finished your drink you threw it away but went back and tapped him on the shoulder

he JUMPED

and squealed

so you screamed a bit too

then he just stopped and smiled 

i’m melting just thinking about his smile my bias is showing

“Is there something I can help with?”

“Actually I work the night shift and I keep seeing these really good drawings on the chalkboard but I could never figure out who was drawing them.”

“Of course! I love this one the most so far! It matches your hair”

you both just kind of smile and look at his drawing of the beach

it had so much detail

but you look at your watch and WHOOPS you're about to be late for your next lecture 

“well Minhyuk, It was really nice meeting you but I'm about to be late for my lecture! see you when I can!”

when you came for your shift you looked at the chalkboard 

next to the picture of the beach there was a drawing of a couple of books

then there was some words below it

“good luck with school Y/n!  What’s your major?”

so you wrote your major in the spot he provided 

and now you two have conversations on the chalkboard

one day

he asked for your number

it looked like he put a lot more work into his hand writing

you could also tell that he had erased and rewritten the sentence a whole bunch of times

you gave him your number ofc

so now you two talk and call each other a lot

he has morning classes 

one day it was a particularly long ass ride day

and on the chalkboard was a Extremely good drawing of you with “y/n will you...” written below it

“I’m not telling you to do anything. The opportunity is right there on the chalkboard and its your decision if you do anything with it. The door is open, walk inside”

the bell above the door rang signaling that someone had walked through the door

looking at who entered it was,,,,, Minhyuk?!?!”

“Minhyuk what are you doing here??”

“I never finished the sentence on the chalkboard”

his hands were shaky as he wrote the the last couple of words

he took a shaky breath and stood up next to the chalkboard

so when the bell rang he dropped the paper in the hallway

it was the bell signaling Lunch too so there were people everywhere and the paper was nowhere to be seen

you tried looking for it after the hallways cleared but ? it wasn't there ?

7th period came around

the teacher was really chill tho

like she would talk about the notes for 15 minutes then that was it for the day and the rest of the class was basically free time

she never checked the homework either

Monday comes around and there he is, running up to you screaming

he engulfs you in a hug again

and when you reach your doorstep he kisses your cheek again and runs away screaming before you can do anything

so the next day the school bell rings and ding!

Okay so you and Ten became roommates because of this kinda sketchy website

where you post ad’s talking about the room, things about your self, how many roommates you want, how much they are to pay per month, ext 

so despite the horror stories you hear by your friends and the obvious risk

you still made an ad

and boom! Ten was looking for a roommate too! and he also went to the same collage as you! and he was very good looking! how perfect 

you were siked because this wasn’t such a bad idea after all

but your friends said otherwise

“It’s too good to be true”

“What if you get kidnaped???”

“He’s probably a catfish!?!?”

so to make them feel better you met in a public place and brought two of your closest friends

and when he showed up he also brought two of his friends

and you both were just,,,, shocked

because you were both who you said you were???

you both even brought friends with you??

so he agreed to becoming your roommate and you both clicked well

Ten’s room is kind of a mess but not m e s s y

he has little trinkets on his book shelf but mostly he has pictures of his family everywhere. The walls, nightstand, the dresser, the bookshelf, in the bathroom?? how did that get there ?? and also on the ceiling??? h o w?? who knows 

he’s kinda a morning person, 9 am is the ripe time for him to get up but he has morning classes that start at 7 and lets just say he’s not a happy camper

you have afternoon classes so you two don’t really see each other all that much? except at night and a couple of hours in the afternoon

and you have always been a night owl which means you sleep later which is also why you chose afternoon classes lol

you and Ten have this routine where you say little reminders as you leave like “Make sure to eat well!” “I’m sure you will ace that test today!” “Don’t forget we need milk”

somedays when you both are stressed or  have less homework you watch a movie,,,,, at 2 am

Ten wakes up half dead the next morning but it was worth it to watch a movie with you

every Saturday you two eat lunch together because its nice to get out of the house for any other reason than going to school 

and one day on those Saturday lunch dates

Ten is like “How would you feel if I signed up to babysit these cute little twins tomorrow”

you almost spit out your tea because what ? kids ? t o m o r r o w?

and Ten is just there smiling, sipping his milkshake :)

and it seems like there isn’t really a way out and this is definitely not the way you wanted to spend your Sunday but Ten and children just sound so cute so you agree 

and thats how you ended up sitting in the living room floor having your hair braided and watching as ten gets to play barbie 

apparently creating knots in your hair or hitting ten with a Barbie doll was not entertaining enough so the two little girls start whining 

so ten suggests to play house

and the two little girls are e l a t e d 

“You will be the daddy” one said pointing to you

“And you will be the mommy” the other one said while pointing to Ten

“I think it should be the other way around but okay”

and so now all four of you are in the kitchen and Ten is speaking in a voice two octaves higher than normal and its the funniest thing you have ever heard 

and Ten is really getting into playing house??? like he’s hugging you?? and calling you babe??? while feeding the kids?? he even borrowed one of your scarfs and is wearing it as a shaw???

And your just there feeding the other kid air tea and air chicken

then Ten is all like “HoOooOoOoOnnnneeeeyyyyyy~ “ and things all went very fast and somehow now his lips are on yours in a very passionate kiss and the kids are going “EWWW”

and you are just so shocked that by the time you register the fact that Ten is ki s s i n g you he has already pulled away, coughed and is now packing up the kids stuff because “i- thINk I heARd yOuR parENTS outsIDe” and his voice cracked ngl

so after that you two don’t really talk about it due to your conflicting schedules but you two end up leaving notes instead of saying reminders 

Ten wrote on Thursday “Do you still want to meet up Saturday?” 

ofc you said yes because what if he liked you?? you could be dating your cute, caring, sweet, and lovable roommate and that was worth the risk

as soon as you two sat down in the booth at the local subway Ten was spitting out apologies and the only coherent sentence you caught was

“I’m sorry I got way into playing house and accidentally kissed you”

and you're like  o h maybe he didn’t like me after all so you take a breath and say it was fine but apparently your weak smile didn’t reach your eyes and Ten is suddenly looking really nervous

“Honestly I’ve liked you since a month or two after I moved in- actually since the day I saw your Ad on that really shady website and I was thinking that maybe we could be like what we were pretending to be while playing house? so you worked at a library as a part time job

and there was this guy who came in every day and read strictly out of the greek mythology section

he dyed is hair pink once? and it fit his face nicely

not to mention he had a smile to die for

who were you kidding you thought he looked cute

You worked on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays sometimes 

and Kihyun also came in on those days,,,, not purposely or anything

His friend Changkyun dragged him there one day-that just so happened to be a Friday- because he wanted to borrow a book on engineering 

while waiting for him to pick a book he saw you in the greek mythology section putting up books. He also saw you put one book in your bag to cheek out later for yourself

so she’s into greek mythology 

which was perfect because he wanted to learn about greek mythology

“hey should I get this one or this one?”

“get the blue one”

“Why the blue one? you haven’t even looked at their content”

his first goal was to get out of the library as quick as possible but with the prospect of being able to see you more he told Changkyun to keep looking while he checked out a book of his own

so after that he just kept going to the library to read about greek myths

“I never knew you liked the library so much” Changkyun asked one day

“I don’t but there is an incentive”

“And whats that?”

he certainly was not expecting to be asked that question and cursed silently trying to cover up the “incentive” so he squeaked out a simple “oh uh uhuh ,, kcjdbsjobvo um LeARninG?”

He was not about to admit that he went to the library to just “read” and sneak glances over his book as you did your job

He was soon found out by Changkyun though 

“Just talk to her, but please for the love of god don’t use a pick up line”

so thats exactly what he did lol

pick up lines and extra greasy statements are his specialty

so thats how he ended up nervously tapping his foot while sitting at a table next to the cheek out area waiting for you to be free

He couldn’t focus on his book so he got up and went to the bathroom to give himself a quick pep talk 

His constant foot tapping didn’t go unnoticed by you so you decided to go find him after you finished with this last person to see if he was alright

 the greek mythology section was the first place you checked

which so happened to be next to the restroom

Kihyun finally stopped acting stupid in the bathroom trying to shake off his nerves after a guy caught him in the act 

so red faced he walked out of the restroom ready

And you not looking where you were going 

which ended up with you both bumping into each other

you fell flat on your bum while Kihyun tottered a bit lol

“OmG are yOu okAy?1! I aM sOO sORY”

he helped you up and started checking for injuries which you had none of because it was a small fall on carpeted flooring but the gesture was nice and very motherly

“I’m fine thank you though” and you smiled to show that you were in fact fine and boy he felt his heart s t o p

You saw him freeze for a bit and were not letting go of this opportunity to talk to him 

don’t wanna be lonely with cats at the age of 40 so might as well talk to him. He was cute and you maybe had a crush on him

“Hey you okay? I see you in this section a lot, need help looking for a book?”

He seemed to melt in .5 seconds and he flashed you a smirk

“No but I could sure use some help looking for your number”

He still doesn’t know where he thought of that line because his prepared speech was nothing like this

you were tempted to say “I can’t help you with that but I can help you find your manners” because sass but you were trying to get in a relationship here not a petty war of words

so you gave him your number

and he was actually really sweet?

said the weirdest and greasiest stuff sometimes but he was cute so you let it slide lol

“Are you a magician? Because whenever I look at you, everyone else disappears”

“Oooo I like this one better than the map one”

so you guys have been texting non-stop and talking non-stop when you both were at the library

Changkyun found out about this obv and tried to push kihyun to ask you out 

and ofc Kihyun wanted to do it on his own time and was having no part of whatever Changkyun was planning 

but of course it was unavoidable 

so you two were talking and Changkyun sneaks behind Kihyun and pushes him into you then runs away laughing like a mad man

he ended up getting kicked out for disturbing the library but none the less you and Kihyun are both standing there red faced

it also gave Kihyun courage somehow???

“So I’ve been meaning to ask you,,,,”

you were hoping that he was going to ask you what you thought he was going to ask you

“,, would you like to eat dinner with me?” he says nervously looking between you and his shoes

and you immediately stop chewing on your lip and break out into a wide grin

“of course”

so thats how you ended up at the beach with Kihyun on your first date

“Our first date is a picnic on a beach under the stars? Have you swallowed a romance novel? Do I need to call a doctor?” 

“I only stay in the greek mythology section how would I have swallowed a romance novel?”

“Maybe you branched out a bit, who knows?”

and after that you two went on many more dates~

After you served your friends their popcorn and drinks you were left to serve other couples and feel like you were missing out. You would get a discount and be able to watch the movie tomorrow morning but it wasn't the same.

In ten minutes another movie was going to open up to play and you were cleaning out the theater so the people coming in weren’t stepping on popcorn everywhere. Nearing the top row, you heard soft crying. The movie ended twenty minutes ago and the movie wasn't even a sad one. It was a documentary on Lightbulbs. Looking behind seats trying to find the person crying proved to be a bit challenging in the dark. The crying stopped and you thought you were just imagining things. It was quite late – thirty before midnight – and a couple of yawns escaped your lips.

Continuing your cleaning after your little search party the noises started up again. Okay you defiantly didn't imagine this. But where was the person? Five minutes were left till the other movie opened up and you couldn't waste any more time looking for the person. Finally making it to the top row you reached out your broom to clean up the last bits of popcorn but your broom picked up more than just popcorn. It had hit someone. Squinting in the darkness ahead of you to try and see what you had hit, you would have to admit – you were a little terrified. After seeing it was a guy around your age you poked him again. And his reaction was to start crying.

“Sir are you alright? Another movie is playing soon and I’m afraid you’re going to have to leave.”

“I’m fine,” he managed to stop crying and sniffle out a response, “My name is Taehyung by the way”

“Okay well Taehyung, I’m going to have to ask you to leave but first I have a couple of questions if you don't mind answering.”

“I figured you would have a couple of questions. Ask away”

“Why did a documentary over lightbulbs affect you so much and why are you still here?” the mysterious crying person who turned out to be named Taehyung started to cry again but quickly composed himself.

“Well, to answer your first question. It’s just so…sad. Lightbulbs won’t ever be able to find a mate and their only purpose is to shine brightly and then the burn out and in many ways it reminds me of fame but also of love. Imagine a love story where two people meet and love each other deeply but just fall out of love and burn out like a light bulb. I don't know how you think of this but to me that's the saddest thing to ever feel,” he sniffled a little more and looked back up at you with doe eyes, “To answer your second question, I told my friends that after the movie and they rolled their eyes and left. They tried to get me to come with them but I told them to wait for me and that I’d be ready after a couple of minutes – I wanted to see the credits too but when I went out they had already left. There are two problems that I have with this: they have my phone so there is no way for me to get a ride and they drove me here so I can’t just drive myself.”

“Okay that was the single most beautiful thing I have heard all day. I’ll tell you what, come with me to the snack counter, I’ll sneak you a plate of nachos and we will figure your ride situation out. Is that alright with you?”

“Perfectly fine”                                                                                        

After sweeping up what little you had left you fulfilled your promise by giving Taehyung some nachos and making sure to serve everyone till all of the movies began; you decided to figure out how to get him home. Turning to him you took a moment to look at him in better light.

“Well either I drive you home after my shift ends at 1 or I can lend you my phone so you can call your friends.”

“I’ll just call my friend. I don't want to bother you anymore; you have already done more than enough for me.”

“You haven’t been a nuance to me at all, if anything you made my job a bit more interesting today.” You said handing him your phone. He walked outside to call his friend and when he came back he gave you your phone back, thanked you and quickly dashed out the door. Looking down at your phone you saw your contacts opened. Looking at it you see where he had put his phone number, name and where the notes box you saw a little message:

           Today was yours and Taeyong’s one-year anniversary This was your first relationship and Taeyong is the best boyfriend you could ever ask for. He always left earlier due to his schedules but he cleaned your completely somewhat messy apartment every time he stayed over and cooked you breakfast if he had the chance. He was always showing his love through food and the small messages he left behind with it.

           Taeyong was a bit busy but had promised that he would be home for dinner. Which was perfect, you had hoped to pay back your boyfriends love in the same way he showed it: Long hugs, food and the sweet messages that came with them. Getting out the sticky notes you started to write your favorite shared memories.

           I’ll never forget the first day we met. You spilled coffee on my shirt and didn't let me leave your sight until you had cleaned my shirt.

           I love how you remember the things I forget about myself. I told you my favorite flower was a Lilly and a month later on a day where I was not at my best, you surprised me with a dozen Lillis accompanied by a dozen things you loved about me.

           After you had written until you could think of no more, you began preparing the food. Which after you had finished, didn't look half bad. How it tasted though, would have to be determined later. The soft click of the door unlocking told you time was up.

           “Baby, Happy Anniversary~,” hearing the door being shut and locked again you hurriedly finished setting the table “, eh where are you?”

           “In the Kitchen”

           “Why are you- oh” feeling someone envelope you from behind you turned around and hugged him back.

           “Happy Anniversary babe. I took the liberty to cook us dinner tonight.”

           “Wow for once I don't have to do it”

           “Hey!”

           “Just joking babe”

           He took a seat at the table with a teasing grin on his face. Sitting across from him you two began to put the various food you prepared on your plates. All was well until you tasted it. It looked alright but it surely didn't taste alright. Making a sour face you looked up at your boyfriend.

           “I’m so sorry Taeyong, I thought it would be nice to have a meal fixed by me for once but apparently the cooking gene was not passed down to me and I’m so sorry I ruined out anniver-“

It was exceptionally hot. It was summer after all. Adorn with a skirt and a short sleeve shirt, you excused yourself to go to the inside of the mall to cool off. Figuring that a nice cold fruit smoothie would do the trick your legs carried you to the food court faster than you could think. However, a figure was sprawled out on the floor of the food court with a pool of tears complimenting their odd state. Concerned and slightly confused, you confronted the weeping stranger.

People were walking around him as if he was a “Careful; slippery when wet” sign. After getting a better look at him you decided he looked quite attractive. Navy blue hair adorned his head and eyes like glassy galaxy’s glanced over at you.

“I’m sorry. I’m making a scene aren’t I?” the weeping stranger said as he started collecting his noodles that had fallen on the ground next to him and whipping his face free of tears. You only just now noticed the noodles.

“I think it’s quite the opposite. People just walked around you in fact.” You said softly, words floating to the ground like dust.

Bending down and helping him collect his stuff and managing to glance in his direction you noted that he seemed really sweet and not a crybaby despite the fact he was on the floor of the mall crying over a spilt cup of noodles. After his stuff was collected he started to stand up and it was only then you realized how tall he was.

“Im sorry we had to meet like this, you found me in a mall crying over a bowl of noodles I dropped and I swear I’m not usually like this. I’m just having a really weird week. You’re pretty cute so it’s kind of embarrassing.”

Nodding your head and taking a moment to calm your heart after the random compliment a random stranger gave you. “It’s fine,” huh who knew shoes could be so interesting to look at “, I’ll take your word for it. How about we go and get a smoothie together. I know it’s not a cup of noodles like you had before but it’s hot outside so…” words seemed to have left you after they flooded in your mouth moments before.

“I’ll agree on one condition.”

“And I’ll agree depending on what the condition is”. A sly smile creeped on your face.

“If I get your name we can get smoothies”

“Hmm,” pretending to ponder his proposition and stroking an invisible beard you waited a second till you replied “, The name is Y/N. Yours?”

There was no doubt that in your mind that you had the weirdest boyfriend. To put things in perspective your first meeting with Changkyun was your senior year in high school. It was prom season and you have yet to get a date. Sitting silently with your friends at lunch you watched another girl get asked out to prom. The guy had dressed up in a dinosaur costume with a gigantic sign that said “PROM?”. Everyone started clapping when the girl had hugged him and said yes. If someone was going to ask you to prom you sure hoped it was not going to be in a dinosaur costume but at this point you would say yes if someone threw a rock at your head with the words “Prom?” on it. Desperate? Maybe. Flat out insane? More likely.

“Hey y/f/n, what did you think about that?” you said pointing to the dinosaur couple hugging and taking a picture.

“Well, it was…interesting” y/f/n said with wide eyes and a strained smile.

“Yeah, I hope no one asks me out like that” you said laughing sparsely. Conversation carried on softly and slowly until there was fifteen minutes left of lunch. Getting up you carried everyone’s trash over to the trashcan nearby. On your way back a boy who looked to be in the same grade as you stopped you.

“My friend bet me 20 bucks that I wouldn’t walk up to a random upperclassman and ask them to senior prom and I’m about to be 20 dollars richer and, no, that doesn’t invalidate the question, you’re actually really cute,” he said panting a little by the end of his rant “, So what do you say? Prom?” Shocked you stood rigid for a moment trying to process this information. Snapping out of your trance you had to admit he was quite attractive.

“Sure, why not?”

“I’m quite shocked that you said yes. Either your despite or flat out insane.”

“Maybe I’m a little of both but that doesn’t matter now does it? We have a prom to get ready for.”

“I like the way you think. What’s your name?”

“y/n”

“Im Changkyun. Nice name by the way”

           Maybe your first meeting was a preface for how the rest of your relationship would blossom. After prom you two started talking and found out that you had a lot more in common than expected. Your next meeting was almost as strange as the last. It was two weeks after prom and Changkyun approached you after school holding a box of kittens.

           “Hey I noticed you were standing here all alone and I had found a box of kittens don’t ask me where I got them but we gotta return them before sunrise no it wasn’t illegal shhh h.”

           “I have so many questions but I’m just going to roll with it. So what are we going to do with the kittens?”

           “Uh play with them of course, come on we will play with them at my house.” And just as soon as he came he left. You suppose you could study for end of the year tests later. You deserve a break. So with a clear mind you followed Changkyun and his box of questionably obtained kittens. You have to admit; he was weird but cute.

           It was close to graduation, just a week away. You and Changkyun had become best friends but at the wrong time. Everyone knows that the expiration date on high school friendships was senior graduation. The more seconds that ticked by the more your chances of seeing Changkyun dwindled. Somehow, somewhere in the strangeness of your meetings, you fell for Changkyun. And in all of the abnormality of your friendship you two bonded quickly. You would have to admit; he was cute. Not to mention you fell fast and hard for his quirks. The ticking of your bedroom clock patronized you and your graduation cap and gown taunted you incessantly. A week ago you made an idiot jar for Changkyun as a joke but you haven’t been able to tell him about it let alone talk to him without having your heart beat faster than a hummingbird’s wings and your soul to aching with the pain of knowing that your time with Changkyun was becoming less and less. You didn’t realize you were crying until a tear hit your hand. You were such a crybaby sometimes. The ring of your doorbell caused a ripple through the quiet of your house. Cleaning up your face and straightening your clothes, you walked to the door. To your surprise the very person you have been ignoring is now at your doorstep.

           “Hey where have you been? Have you been ignoring- oh my god your crying. Why are you crying you know I can’t handle emotional situations I’m about to cry too”

           “Oh shut up your idiot. This is why I made an idiot jar. Every time you say or do something stupid you have to put a dollar in it- or more depends on how stupid the thing you said or did was. But I don’t think it will be of much use now seeing as graduation is in five days.”

“That’s why you have been avoiding me, here come here. I’m Not going anywhere fast.” Pulling you into a hug he hummed a tune of a song you know all too well. Everybody loves somebody by Dean Martin. The very song you and him slow danced to at Prom. You two stood there for a while. Swaying to Changkyun’s humming.

           Graduation was over and caps were falling to the ground from every direction. Running to find Changkyun someone picked you up and swayed you gently side to side.

           “Everybody loves somebody sometime ~Everybody falls in love somehow~” Knowing exactly who it was as soon as he put you down you turned around and took the biggest leap of faith in your life. You kissed him straight on the lips for a few seconds and pulled away with a beat red face.

           “Something in your kiss just told me ~My sometime is now~” you sang. His shock soon wore off and he smiled a cat like smile. Leaning in close to your face he kissed you again and you could have sworn you were on cloud nine.

           “I’m surprised. Either your desperate or flat out crazy.”

           “Maybe I’m a bit of both.”

           “I like the way you think.”

           “I like how we still know our first conversation.”

           “How could I forget. I looked really good that day, but then again when do I not.”

           “That’s a dollar for the idiot jar”

           “Hey! It’s the truth.”

           “Changkuyn can you promise me something?”

           “Anything”

           “Let’s keep in touch. I’d rather not date you for a day even if you are a dork I fell in love with your dorkiness so let’s keep in touch during college ‘mkay”

           “I wasn’t planning on letting you go anyway”

“Minhyuk! Don’t you dare throw that snowba-dammit” his soft laughter shook the earth and ripped the quiet of your house in two. Whipping the snow off your pj’s you glanced at Minhyuk who was enjoying himself far more than he should. You would have to admit that his laughter was contagious and you found you self-smiling like a fool. His incessant laughter ceased for only a sparse moment he sat up from his previous position on the floor.

“Yo-you should have seen your-your face!” and with that he was back again laughing but pulling himself together enough to lean against your door way. Stepping beside him to get outside, you devised a plan. Balling up some snow in your driveway and turned towards Minhyuk with a roller coaster smile. As if he was shocked by lighting, Minhyuk stopped his laughing, stood up straight, jumped about ten feet off the ground and ran like a scared puppy around your yard.
