For a huge chunk of the first season, we only get to see her from Josh’s point of view, and it’s so obvious he puts her on a pedestal and she’s so flat/one-dimentional. Then, as the series progresses she gets more fleshed out as Josh comes to terms with stuff (via flashbacks), until FINALLY we see her outside of Josh, and of course, OF COURSE she’s a real person with real person feelings and real person issues.
