Today Samsung unveiled it's time/phone/internet/camera smartwatch to mixed reviews. Time Magazine (fitting) called The Galaxy Gear "big", "gaudy" and "packed with fancy hardware and comes loaded with software features–some of which you’d probably never use."
It's $300 price tag makes me think a smarter option is this classic beauty from Steven Allen. For $285 you get a 21 jewel automatic watch and you don't looking like a Silicon Valley wannabe.

Riding the wave…
There’s been a spate of surf brands coming back from the dead in recent years; Lightning Bolt, Sundek, Maui & Sons etc…but the latest might be the most legit. M.Nii was founded In Makaha on Oahu, Hawaii in the 1950’s…a tailor shop that began catering to the needs of local surfers. They started by fixing their “baggies” and then turned it into a business by making their own twill trunks designed for the wave riders. M.Nii’s trunks became a necessity for locals, a memento for visiting surfers, and a well worn pair was a badge of honor.
Today’s American made version is faithful to the original thanks to the efforts of the men who revived them, industry vets Randy Hild and John Moore. The classic Drowner is $150 bucks a pair which is pricey… but the more you wear them the better they get, and the more legit you look. When you see them (and touch them) in person you’ll understand.

In da Club... So I got my Dollar Shave club blades and handle and gave it a few tries before posting this. The shave was not at sharp as the marketing. It was actually fine for most of my face and neck but it was in the corners, where it really matters, that the razor disappointed. I never felt I had full control of the blades. It was almost too safe and too smooth. I am disappointed but glad I tried. So I'll soon be out of da club.

There are so many apps out there for photography but this one is worth mentioning…its called OVER and it lets you put text on your photos. What makes this one special is the ease and fun in using it - and they have great fonts.

So I know I'm a little late to the game but this video from the Dollar Shave Club is brilliant! And I love the concept of the company because every time I buy a pack of blades I get sticker shock.

When the first issue of M magazine hit the newsstand last fall it felt (literally) like a fresh new magazine with an old school vibe...that's because M is an old title relaunched by Conde Nast. Putting Bradler Cooper on the premiere cover was a nice choice...the mag is aiming to be a cool, smart and stylish read for men who work hard...you know, like BC. Lets hope the crew at Conde Nast work hard enough to keep this one in production. I'm still waiting for the second issue.

Mumm’s the word…
Although not as well known as Veuve or Dom, Napa Valley’s Mumm is a delicious champagne (technically a sparkling wine) for tonight’s festivities. It’s the champagne that got me hooked on bubbly in the first place.
Also, if you are ever in Napa, it's one of the best tasting experiences out there. Go!
