Not a big fan of Dan but I hope he's able to qualify. I know he doesn't have the best relationship with the LTA but it was a bit shit of them not to give him a wild card into his retirement event.

I can see it from both sides. He does deserve the big final send off and if he was drawn against a seed and got a centre court match he’d be sure to give it everything like the snowman he is.

But on the flip side he’s not been arsed with his tennis for the rest of 2026, and if he’s not even trying why should he get a valuable spot and payment vs a younger player who could do with that springboard for their career. He’s had plenty of wildcards over the years!

My watch gave me a relax reminder so you weren’t alone. Glad my updates helped. He honestly looked really solid and played a good match for the first one back. Couldn’t serve it out but the tiebreak wasn’t nervy.
