1 and 2 lost to temur control, dude literally countered ever spell i had cast besides set up spells games 2 and 3. The counterspells are tough for the gr marvel deck so hoping to avoid them for the last round of standard, if i win next just gotta 3 1 modern

Got there against bant humans, 2 and 2 going into modern, so just gotta pull out the 3 1. Was hoping for a bit better in standard, but it happens i got bad matchups round 2 and 3 ive either 2 0d my opponent or theyve had counterspells lol. Def excited to get into modern. I def understand my deck and the format better

Lost the first round againsy infect, 3 spellskites wasnt enough. Lol had one all 3 games too.i did at least win a game. So 2-3 gotta win out if i wanna day two hopefully i can get more competitive matchups

Sorry my phone died! I ended up 4 - 4 after infect I played amulet bloom. Yes... It was literally a bloom deck with sakura tribe scouts instead of bloom. Then I played the saltiest infect player this dude rebounds distortion strike, I vial in spellskite and redirect then he goes vines your spellskite and I got confused so I tell him hang on while I process the stack and he just calls for a judge...judge ends up explaining spellskite ends up with protection from MY spells, so it still got the d strike lol he got so salty he basically threw the match the I lost my last one to elves :( so close. I think my round 5 opponent got pretty lucky to turn 3 me thru a spell slots but it happens! Get to play a standard open tomorrow

Wait, I just thought about if one of the spells you cast on your way to aetherfluxing them is actual tendrils…. I havnt done the math, but it seems like storm count 4 cast tendrils with that on the field should let you 50 them…. I’m gonna work on a list for this cuz dangon fun is what it sounds like

Storm copies of Tendrils aren’t cast - they’re put directly on the stack so won’t count unfortunately

But tendrils has this effect that almost never matters, you gain the amount of life that they lose. So storm of 4 cast tendrils you gain 10 they lose 10 and having cast five spells you gained like 15 ish so maybe storm needs to be 5 but you see what I'm saying?

So I don't know what sort of price and tournament viability considerations you have but if you have money to throw around Sultai control is super sweet and very competitive. Think of it as blue rock. Sorta a Jund shell with cryptic remand and cliq. Otherwise if you just want a super sweet deck that will win some fnms, but prolly not much more than that, UB quicken is like the coolest deck. 4 leyline of anticipation and four quicken and then discard, control magic. Instant speed discard and wraths are hilarious. Same with cards like serum visions. If your super sold on grixis like you said the mana base and core cards stay the same and you get to personalize a lot in a deck like that. Good luck getting into modern
