When I did my field school at Olduvai Gorge ((nine actual years ago)), it was really fun to know that we were at The Leakeys' camp. A place where brilliant people had been researching human origins for decades.

Today the camp looks largely the same but it's been turned into a "living museum." So a ton of research teams still work there every summer alongside restored buildings and facilities that Mary and her team (and the dalmatians) used for so many years.

The museum demonstrates some of the less widely broadcast elements of how everything happens in a way that hilights all the different people who dedicate their careers to this stuff, not just the Scientists.
