watching reform get so many wins is really breaking my heart. they're always talking about returning to common sense but it's literally just code for moving away from kindness and understanding and instead embracing cruelty. my constituency voted in a reform candidate and it feels like sheep voting for the wolf. we're so stupid

my mum has always been difficult but i'm finding it so much harder as i get older... she's very selfish and impatient with other people and really is turning more and more into a crotchety old person who is slowly alienating herself and thinks everything is everyone else's fault. i feel caught between embarrassment and anger at her and guilt for not wanting to spend time with her and sadness at not having the kind of relationship with her that i see other people have with their parents. i suppose all i can do is be mindful of how i approach the world
